    The paint can would have made a good vessel to hold some crinkled shredded paper and 4 or 5 menthol shower steamers. Add a healing lip balm and call it a winter healing kit, or something like that. I’m sure the cans and bath salts are long gone, but I appreciate how you’re evaluating and tweaking your business.

      that's a great idea with the paint cans. I did end up using them as a gift set - a small cream, scrub, and body butter I think - they finally sold that way LOL - these salts DID NOT sell. So - done with salts LOL🤗

    Tammy great content as usual. Love your recipe!! i am going to make these for my family as i have all the ingredients. How long did you leave them to dry on your baking sheet? and did you find they lost some fragrance while drying. Thanks for all your content and taking the time to do videos for us all .x

    • @WalnutCreekBathBoutique
      @WalnutCreekBathBoutique  Год назад

      oh I hope they love them! I believe I left them for about 24-48 hours. That should be plenty of time for them to dry. If they are in a deep pan of sorts you will want to stir them more often, otherwise stirring once or twice should to it. I didn't notice a loss in fragrance, this will have a lot to do with the fragrance you use though. -- good luck!!!

    Hi Tami. I made some bath salts recently and I put it in some plastic jars and also a couple of salt tubes, I'll call it. It almost seems like it has absorbed water. Did you have that problem with those plastic paint cans? Thanks for any help. Valerie

    • @WalnutCreekBathBoutique
      @WalnutCreekBathBoutique  10 месяцев назад +1

      Hi Valerie!! I will say - most of the time I put salts in ANY plastic container that I have tried they eventually get hard. I don't have problems with them sweating so much but they sure can get rock hard on me. They really do good need an airtight storage solution I think. I actually had more issues with a jar with a tight lid than I did with the paint cans - which is really surprising.
      I stopped selling them as they don't move quick enough for me. 🤔

      thanks for watching. I haven't taken any classes to be a formulator. Honestly I'm not a great formulator, I have a few that I have created that I am super proud of though.
      I learned most from Marie and Humblebee and Me. I would start there. Also Whole Elise is another great one to watch. Finally Tara Lee
      you can search all of them on RUclips and you will def learn from them.
      there are formulating degrees you can get with taking online classes but they are very expensive. Good Luck!

I have been watching Jerika Zimmerman, You, Ellen Ruth, and quite a few more. I write down recipes and tweak them to fit the oils and smells I like with the use of the IFRA and usage rates. I certainly think all of you makers together are like going to school. I'll just keep doing what I'm doing and watching you all and learning!

      Hi! I can't think of where to find a plastic shaker bottle. Are you selling or just using for yourself? I too am a huge dropper LOL. You should be able to find a plastic jar and use a spoon maybe.

      @bagsandbling7564 2 года назад

      @@WalnutCreekBathBoutique , thank you for your quick response. I would like to sell them at some vendor events I plan to participate in this fall. Putting myself in a potential customer's shoes, I would not want to mess with anything glass or using a spoon, although I see alot of seller's of bath salts include those. The only 'shaker-style' plastic containers I've even seen are large spice jars, but I actually think that might work perfectly! Especially with a pretty label.

    I love that bowl! It looks like a big bath bomb mould!
    Why don’t you use regular salt to make it cheaper? I’ve watched a lot of tutorials and no one uses regular salt! It’s the base of my bath salts, and I don’t use slsa or any foaming agent, I think that’s why things end up costing more, bath salts and bath milks aren’t supposed to be bubbly, more expensive fancy ones sure but not normal bath salts, I love these cans! I would have bought them cause they were cute too! ❤

    what kind of dye? I use food coloring. I've been having a clumping problem. My first batch was fine but I put mica in there not knowing. I also used sea salt (uses sodium ferrocyanide). Not sure if the sea salt kept it from clumping or the mica. either way all of my successive batches clumped. I am close to buying dendritic salt but I'm not sure if that's going to be the fix.

    Is mica dissolvable in the fragrance oil or polysorbate 80. Or both? It’s humid where I live and I’m terrified of water lol the longer my mix sits out, the wetter it gets! Also does the amount of additional Epsom salt used effect the bubbliness?

    • @WalnutCreekBathBoutique
      @WalnutCreekBathBoutique  Год назад +1

      You can certainly mix mica with either the fo or the poly 80! and yes, the additional epsom salts will dilute the bubbliness of the bath water. It will make it more silky so it is a trade off.
      Great questions! 😊

Similar to bath bombs that are sprayed with either alcohol or water, or even which hazel, they also do not require a preservative. At least I have never seen anyone us a preservative in a bath bomb.

      Hi JB - thank you for your feedback, a little harsh I think for someone who had their channel for less than a year at the time but that's ok. I was apologizing a bit, but again - 10 months into my channel I think I was doing ok. Not great, but ok. I try to get better with every single video and feel like I have improved quite a bit in the last few months. Another thing about me and my channel though is it is just me, doing my thing. I make mistakes that I don't cut out, I am totally honest in every thing and word - sometimes this makes me look "unconfident or weak" but I am not going to change that. The reason I now have as many subscribers as I do is that I am totally real with my viewers. If this is something you can get behind I would love to see you around some more!
