    HW : w= mg= N
    2×10 = 20 N=> Nf
    Coefficient of static friction(mu) =0.4
    fs = (mu)s× N
    = 0.4 × 20
    = 8 N
    But, even the 4N is acting on the object but the fsmax will cancel the force because it is Self Adjusting Force and the force is the less than fsmax ... 😊

  • @MAdciTy-v3e
    @MAdciTy-v3e 8 месяцев назад +11

    I think the answer would be 8N because--
    M= 2 KG
    W= mg
    = 2 KG*10 m/s²
    = 20N
    Coefficient of static friction= 0.4
    therefore, 0.4*20N= 8N

    • @aritra1183
      @aritra1183 6 месяцев назад +2

      Wrong, this is limiting force or f max so to move the block you need more than 8N force the force applied on the block is 4N since friction force is self adjusting it will adjust itself to 4N and cancel the force applied
      So the answer is 4N

      Bro static friction (fs) is variable means it depends upon the applied force(F) but we know their will be a fs max of a body
      Let fs max = 10N
      and F = 8 N
      Since fs ( not fs max) is a variable force and is equal to applied force (F)
      Therefore, fs=8N
      i.e., 0

    Is the abs is 8N?

  • @FazilVijay-et9md
    @FazilVijay-et9md Год назад

    Solution is here
    Given
    Ms=0.4
    Mass=2kg
    Applied force=4N
    Find force of friction
    Soln.
    N=W
    W=Mg
    =2x10=20
    Msmax=MsxN
    =0.4x20
    =8N
    Hence we need to produce more than 8N.but the Applied force is only 4N ,thus the object can not be moved.And answer for question =8N

    • @Techzino1
      @Techzino1 15 дней назад

      The applied force is 4 newtons. 8N is the maximum static friction. That question is not asking you for maximum static friction. Calculate the force of friction between the floor and the block.
      We all know the FS max = 8N.
      But 4N has already been applied to the block.
      You need to subtract the "4N" applied force from maximum static friction
      8N - 4N = 4N
      4N is the force of friction between the floor and the block since 4N force has been applied to the block
