Thanks for this... have the links moved to a new location?

Super job, thanks very much for doing this. I am setting up for differential thrust for the first time on an Albatross I just got. I am curious about two things: I plan to use this on floats on the water in lieu of a water rudder which I think should work fine, but have you tried either of these modes in the air? If so, how do they perform? Also, what voice prompts are you using on Switch A (like diff thrust off, diff mode A, diff mode B)?

I haven’t setup voice prompts. Differential thrust in the air can be a lot of fun depending on how much differential you actually use. Try it.

Hi John, would this effect other models, I thought global variables effects all models in the radio? so presumable it’s the gv number, say gv1 shouldn’t then be used in another model memory?

Global variables are model specific. Global functions are global.

@@RCVideoReviews great, thank you. My mistake

I tried to do the program on the device, but in "Special Functions", I do not have the column of the "parameter".

Download the .otx file in the description and work from that. There is no option in OpenTx to remove parameter fields from any of the tabs.

Great snippet. Here is a 3rd option that I have used. Let's call it the "Safety" method.
Lets assume that you aren't putting this on a switch that it is just a constant state.
Rudder never increases throttle, instead it decreases one of the throttles.
This prevents throttle from spooling up unexpectedly from only Rudder movement.

Isn't OpenTx awesome? So many different options to make it yours.

The two engines rotate in the same direction, creating an asymmetrical rotational force on the aircraft, during flight. The Differential Thrust in the video can be useful, and reduce the radius of rotation of the plane, but the rotation left and right will not be the same radius.
If the two engines were rotating in different directions, the performance of the aircraft after the programming of the device, according to the video, would have been perfect.
Maybe we can turn the propeller, and the motor, we will change the wires plus to minus?

The logic will work whether or not it is counter-rotating, but I would agree counter-rotating would be more efficient for sure. It's easy to reverse a motor by swapping two of the leads between the ESC and motor. Just use an "R" prop.

Wanted to know how to do Differential Thrust... Now I know.
BTW...the link to the copy of the OTX file comes back to here....

I FINALLY got this figured out. Turns out YT doesn't like to redirect to non-https domains. I never really bothered with this on rcvideoreviews.com because I don't store anything critical there. Anyway, I just installed a legit ssl certificate and YT redirects now work for me. Try it and let me know.
      Grrrr YT!!
