    From the stories I heard, what separates the two is that LeBron knows the importance of rest, while Kobe thought he could cheat his body of sleep. They both worked hard, ate right, etc., but LeBron seems to know that resting and letting your body recover is just as important as getting the reps in.

      Kobe would show up sometimes to practice, but there’s context. Kobe did 2-3 a day workouts per day not including weightlifting, cardio, & treatment sessions. As an athlete ages or battles injuries, you have to be smart about your exertion. There’s definitely days when Kobe did his 4/5AM workout then decided to skip or just observe the 9/10A team practice to get treatment instead. Kobe already finished a workout BEFORE practice. LeBron obviously worked hard, I'm not taking anything away from LeBron, but nobody worked harder than Kobe. Let's remember that LeBron learned how to work from Kobe. LeBron started to copy Kobe's work ethic and workout routine on Team USA in Summer 2008. At that point, LeBron had 0 MVPs and 0 defensive teams. He then won 4 of the next 5 MVPs and made his first all-defensive team in 2009.

    • @Roxas-ph3te
      @Roxas-ph3te Месяц назад +3

      @@thsu8 There's nothing wrong with Lebron copying Kobe's workout routine. After all Kobe got his workout routine from Michael Jordan's trainer Tim Grover anyways. Kobe practically owes his entire career to Jordan since he showed him the way to play.
      Both Kobe and Lebron were the ultimate students of the game, they'll take anything they can get to be better

    • @DoubleAA24
      @DoubleAA24 Месяц назад

      @@Roxas-ph3te the point that you were replying to the guy was saying that Kobe was a student of the game and was always the first practice in LeBron learned that from Kobe and there’s nothing wrong with that. However, Wade made it sound like Kobe showed up with the practice whenever he wanted to, and that’s not the case.

    • @Roxas-ph3te
      @Roxas-ph3te Месяц назад +3

      @DoubleAA24 I agree with that. Poor choice of words from Wade, but I don't think it was intentional. If you watch the Redeem team documentary, everyone, including Wade, says Kobe set the tone as the first in first out before Lebron and then others joined the early morning workouts in Vegas. What he probably meant is that Kobe worked out at odd times (whenever he wanted), like 3am/4am before practing after some rest
      The reason I responded to the other comment was that he implied that the workout routine was a big thing to taking Lebron to the next level, which is why he mentioned the MVPs and All defense teams. In reality, what he learned from Kobe was probably just the icing on the cake, Lebron was already dropping 28 a game and had just taken the Cavs to the finals the year prior, he was even in the MVP race in 06 so it was only a matter of time before he won those awards.

      Mmmmm no Kobe did not go the harder route Lebron did because he literally carried the cavs in 7 seasons and made it to the finals Kobe had shaq the most dominate big man in the league at that time and other pieces and he had the greatest coach of all time too. Lebron never got anybody even on the planet like shaq intill he went to the heat with dwade. Also if you go back to before Lebron was known he was not considered as gifted. He’s freshman or sophomore year. As matter of fact he did not get recognized intill junior and that was when melo was a senior in high school at oak hill. Like dwade said both worked hard as hell they just both did it differently, which is a fact!!!

      @@mkingadiffernce I don't expect any freshman or sophomore to be all that hyped - you're a child at that point. Doesn't mean LeBron isn't the most gifted player ever along with Shaq and Wilt. Literally even Wade said LeBron was blessed from above. He didn't have to deal with nearly the injuries that Wade and Kobe had to. Yes Kobe had Shaq but Kobe is the one who took over 4th quarters of close games and Kobe's numbers were equal to and sometimes better than Shaq's in several games or series. Just as good as LeBron in Miami despite Kobe only being in his early 20s while also making all NBA defensive teams. Very impressive. He just didn't have the luxury of winning finals MVPs since the game plan was playing through Shaq a lot in the finals. You know Kobe could have had even more rings if he switched to better teams throughout his career but he won all 5 one place. Obviously LeBron puts in the work no doubt. But he just didn't need to work like a maniac like Kobe who didn't have his size and speed and massive hands.

    I nvr heard no stories of kobe showing up when he wanted. Only stories of him likely showing up on his 2nd or 3rd round while everyone else on their 1st. Including the Olympics which shifted everyone else mentality...getting it out the mud no longer became respected when lebron came along

    Kobe all he wanted was to win. Didn't care if you liked him or not. LeBron cared more about being liked and didn't like real competition. He was afraid of confrontation. I still feel LeBron he was the leader of this league for 15 to 20 years did more harm then good. He popularized and led the super teams. He popularized and led the friend friend we all hang out just a game mentality. Though he was the leader all in all I would say he was bad for the game. Especially now since clutch sports pays off ESPN to still put his name out so frequent so his brand stays making billions
    Kobe. Just wanted to win that's it
