D-Wade once averaged 30+ while being top 3 in MVP AND DPOY. He was elite on both ends. He would routinely dunk on 7 footers AND blocked 7 footers at the rim at 6’4. And he was a closer with the game winners to show. He just didn’t shoot the 3 well, but he knew that and he played to his strengths (drives, mid range, FTs). He won a chip as the man and won another 2 as a number 2. Elite player. Great career. All the respect to Flash.

D Wade was physically fit and had long appendages. Seriously; his muscularity and hand size is the closest resemblance you’d get from a 1st 3 peat Jordan. I know, people are going to say “Kobe is literally Jordan & no one did anything like Jordan better than Kobe.” I’m sorry but D Wade from 04 to about 09, aesthetically, in terms of skill set, was the closest thing to 1st 3 peat MJ. Wade had the 1stt step quickness, overall speed, finishing, physique, and efficiency. Kobe always resembled 2nd 3 peat Jordan the most to me throughout his career especially from 08 to 12.

This was the highest basketball IQ contextualization of DWade’s legacy I have EVER heard. Most commentators have very narrow views of a players contributions. Melo just gave you a scouts perspective of an all time great. There wasn’t a comparable and for that reason the wall defense was born. And the pressure he put on the secondary break and weak side defense with his offensive style was the first step toward the pace and space model that dominates league offensive schemes now. Before his speed and precision, the league was half court dinosaurs, which is why scores were so depressed. He was the most original shot creator in league history. Hour long highlight reels of shot making you’ll never see again in the league. He’s not talked about by these young kids cause he’s impossible to replicate. And that’s why it’s important that the franchise gives his legacy its due attention. Also why it’s so egregious they never gave him the paycheck he deserved, giving it to forgotten centers.

DWade was my all-time favorite basketball player. I watched his career in college at Marquette and his 16-year career in the NBA. He is what I called the greatest chameleon player of the game of basketball. You never knew how his game would impact, until the start and finish of the game. In all three levels in which He played, whether it was offense, defense, intangibles of the game he was all in... one of the greatest two-guard EVER of the game of basketball.

D-Wade is definitely underrated for his ability to do exactly what ya'll said here just be the guy without trying to be the guy and without needing the ball to stick to be effective, which to me is personally harder to guar5d and scheme for. The only other player that I know in my lifetime that has that type of pull (even though different games) is Steph Curry.

Yep Ant is the CLOSEST THING to what MJ, Mamba, and Wade represented at the SG spot. And THAT'S the AWESOME BLEND of scoring, passing, rebounding for their position, defense, and freak athletic ability. The SG spot HASN'T seen that type of blend from a superstar level player in a long time. The top SG's of the last 10 years like Harden, Book, Beal, Mitchell, etc. weren't from the blueprint of MJ-Mamba-Wade in terms of those attributes as a package.
Ant is bringing back that SICK BLEND of attributes those three icons had at the SG. PLUS he has the IT FACTOR like those three to draw in the casual fanbase! It's very rare you see SG's put that blend together in such a manner. BUT when you see it that means you are the best player in the league at one point (MJ, Kobe) or a top 5 player in the league at one point (D Wade).
