  • The Bioremedy Sauna Blanket is a non-ionized low frequency far-infrared blanket. Non-ionized is considered safe vs ionized ie x-ray, mri, etc. Being far-infrared is also in the safe spectrum vs near infrared and ultraviolet spectrum.
Readings were EMF 35mG, EF 70 V/m, and RF readings mainly from wireless router in house. The Bioremedy sauna blanket uses silicone wiring. The more expensive Lifepro Rejuvawrap uses carbon fiber heater with heavier fabric sandwich with foam making it heavier 18lbs vs 9lbs for a more weighted blanket feel. Note that the Rejuvawrap does not have arm holes.
Mayo Clinic stated that infrared sauna are safe.(2)
EMF are all around you, anywhere there is live electrical wiring you will be exposed to EMF. Most consider lower than a constant 4mG is safe(12)(13). Most homes fall within this range, more or less in the 2mG range. The closer you are to appliances and live electrical outlets/switches, the higher the EMF becomes. Safe public EMF exposure limits at 50Hz of 100uT and EF 5000V/m (1)(6)(8)(13). These limits are to prevent disruptive body functions though more research is needed to pinpoint whether cellular/dna damage does actually occur(8). Depending on source; Considered safe exposure levels varies with EMF 150uT to 800uT and EF between 1000V/m-4200V/m.(9) ICNIRP range is 27uT (270mG)to 62uT(620mG) and 100uT (1000mG) (10) This Bioremedy Sauna Blanket EMF fluctuating around 30-40mG or 3-4uT momentarily peaking at 80mG (8uT)EMF and 70 V/m; well below any published danger zones limits. Duly noted that sauna blanket usage is infrequent/short termed while the heating elements cycle on/off during its usage, so overall EMF exposure is quite limited and far from danger zone limits posed by the scientific community.
There have been no concrete science data showing low EMF causing any cellular/dna damage such as cancer.(11)(9)(18) There was one study showing children under 12yrs exposed to 3mG getting Lukemia (12)(18), but that study has not been fully substantiated. If anyone that should have issues are electronic technician working on electronic equipment all day long or power line workers yet studies results are mixed. More concerning than the limited time inside a sauna are people exposed to lengthy screen time on tablets and cell phones. So there are many studies with contradictory results with regards to EMF causing cancer, reproductive issues, behavior issues, sleep deprivation, reaction times and learning disruptions.(4)
There are studies showing low frequency EMF affecting Pineal Gland (4)which controls sleep cycle, much like sleeping with the lights on. Melatonin levels can decrease causing lack of sleep symptoms. Some studies suggest that this decrease in Melatonin level may have caused some cancer positive results under high exposure. A simple melatonin supplement will take care of that. Melatonin supplements help with sleep, is a strong antioxidant, and is known to help fight cancer. Melatonin is created within the body naturally. So taking a Melatonin supplement may help reducing fears of EMF link to cancer.
Another concern is oxidative stress and lipid peroxidation. Under HIGH PROLONGED exposure to EMF these oxidative stress levels can rise leading to lipid peroxidation which may cause cell/dna changes leading to diabetes and cancer.(15)(16)(17) To counter this is to lead a healthy life style. Most sauna users are health conscious anyways. This means quit smoking, control alcohol consumption, exercise, eat antioxidant rich foods such as green leafy veggies, berries, chocolate, coffee, multivitamins with b12 b9, Antioxidant supplements, etc.(14)
Medical fields are using FIR devices to help treat various aliments related to coronary, kidney, sleep, diseases, pain. FiR heats the body directly and penetrates deep. (3)(4)(5)

Thanks for your review…it was really helpful. I just got mine this afternoon and it feels wonderful. I just went up to 122 degrees though. I’ll work my way up

Part 2 See above for Part 1
Summary; science has shown that non-ionized far infrared at moderate levels are perfectly safe. It is under high prolonged exposures that cellular/dna maybe affected. But studies have contradictory conclusions on this and NO Cancer to adults has been attributed from this type of EMF exposure. More studies are needed.(7)(18) With regards to EMF levels, just be prudent. Unless you live in a Sauna, more realistic usage is short duration under safe EMF/EF levels. Regardless, responsible manufacturers try to limit EMF output by using EMF blocking devices, better materials, better heating elements like carbon fiber or silicone wiring, better wire shielding, less out-gassing woods/fibers, etc.
However there are some precautions with pregnant woman, pace makers, defibulator, hypertension, etc so best to consult with your doctor before using these infrared devices.
I hope my research into EMF exposure is helpful in putting at ease the misinformation out there regarding infrared sauna safety. Just because slightly elevated EMF is out there does not automatically mean that the device is dangerous. Most studies regarding EMF affects to human body results are inconclusive and often contradictory findings to other studies. Since the sauna blanket overall EMF are well below levels to that of the science community guidelines, at this time, if you have no medical issues, the sauna blanket, in my mind, is safe enough for me. Your milage may vary. Read these articles and educate yourself and then decide for yourself.

This is helpful. I bought an EMF meter and it was giving off strong readings when making contact with the Bio Remedy. I've observed this specially around the feet.

Yes, that is where the power supply is. You would need readings exceeding 270 as the mininum danger levels long term. Unless you spend all day in the sauna nothing to worry about, the 30-40mG is so far below the 270mG-800mG the ICNIRP deem as unsafe. Be more concerned if you have health issues than EMF. @@KennethDorado

my husband is 5'11"... weight 194.. would he take the regular or large? I can't find dimensions on site.

You have to click on the product detail arrow on the right side. Regular 71x31 inches 55inch circumference. Large is 76x36 inches Going larger is fine since someone smaller can have extra room in a large while the larger person would not fit comfortable in a regular. You can call or chat with someone at LifePro.

I bought a large simply because tight spaces make me feel claustrophobic and I wanted to be able to move freely. It may be overkill but I’m glad I went in that direction.

Is this infrared? And heating is all the body or only in select part? Thanks

    • @rossishima
      @rossishima  6 месяцев назад +1

This is far infrared. It heats all over the body as the heating elements runs throughout both the bottom and top sections.

It is used several times a week by my wife. We also have a tent sauna that she switches off everyother day. I use it if I overworked myself.
