Just a quick sharpening tip to add to this excellent video. Majority of grass is cut further out on end of blade. If you have sharpened your blade and still off balance, do not continue to shave off metal on your blade tip ends. Instead, grind off the extra weight(metal) from the inside blade edge. Just be careful not too grind too much and overheat the metal which can damage the temper of the blade metal.
Thanks for posting this video, after watching the video, I purchased RBG 712 BLAD SHARPENER , I had Weingartz Landscaping order me one it was little over 550.00 got it in 3 days after ordering it. This video eliminated trial and error for me,got the best from the start. Thanks again
Mr Brian! You are amazing with those blades! I have an older man who sharpens my blades for $5 each! Perfect balance and I've cut my finger twice this season when changing them!

Oh ya l run 80% of my blades are mulching blades and the BRG 712 has no problem sharpening them!! Best review and tool suggestions ever!!!! Thanks buddy see you in the next video
Just a note. I have a wire wheel on my grounder and clean the blades first, then I check the balance before I sharpen them. It does take extra time and I mark the blade if it is not balanced. Being just a home owner with several acres to mow I purchased the all American one and have be very happy with the results.
I purchased the MAG-8000 Universal Lawn Mower Blade Sharpener a couple years ago and it works great. The dealer showed me how to use it, they kept a bucket of water next to the machine to cool the blades down if you have to take a lot of material off. Once i get the blades at the right angle, it only takes me about 10 seconds each side. I try to change them every day or about every 20 lawns cut. You can also use it to sharpen mulching blades.thanks for all the videos, keep up the good work.
Nice video Brian I bought one of those blade sharpeners a month ago I love mines I have great dealer support and my grip collector was given to me free
That American Sharpener unit is great. Welders clamp, spare disk, and the hex key and you can touch up blades on the fly anywhere/anytime. Fits in a boot box. Several angles to choose from. Love it. Light and mobile is the way to go.
That’s a great machine for you contractors and big mower shops to save time and money I will have to stick to my Angle grinder as the cost of it but thanks for sharing it to people
I brought the 712 with the grit collector last year and haven't looked back. It was a good investment and it seems like I get more life out of a blade. You will love it. Lanier talked me into it and it was well worth the money because time is money!

This video has sealed the deal for me and shows me I will be able to use it no problem and like you said It will pay for itself within one season I usually drop off about 5or6 sets of blades and sometimes don’t get them back for a wk or so. Ty for the video Brian keep up the great vids ✔️
Have seen a lot of videos on different blade sharpeners, the problem with all blades is the tip wears down faster since it die most of the cutting. Would like to see a manual mill sharpening blades and cutting the edge vs adding heat and removing the temper out of the blade. Just a thought. 13:29
I have the RBG 934. I got it on sale but it was still big bucks... and the discs are expensive too but I really like it. You can flip the disc around to get more sharpenings out of it since the for awhile the back side is only used to take the burrs off of the blades.
Great video, Brian. Thanks for posting. I have the Oregon blade sharpener and the Oregon wall mounted balancer. Never looked back, been happy with the performance of both. However, that RBG-712 looks pretty sweet. I probably would have bought that if it was available 6 years ago.
I purchased the 712 last year love it. As a side hustle I put out an ad that I sharpened blades for $5 per blade. All the other people in my area charge 7 to $8 per blade. It's turning out to be a good side hustle.

That's why we use a Magnamatic 8000. It can sharpen mulching blades. We run all our machines with mulching kits. Biggest complaint with the sharpener is having to adjust the wheel down frequently to keep the angle just right. I like the way this RBG has a cradle to sit blade in but that would not work with a mulching blade.

I've watched a few of your videos and others, just trying to get started and working with a budget. I like the all American it's in my budget and looks like a decent tool, what is your outtake on the yellow hornet if you have one for this is in my budget as well and to me looks like it would be a little more stable and eliminate wearable parts. Both are in my budget just uncertain which way to go.
I’m a firm believer in investing in my business. When it’s something that makes my job easier and or just makes sense for the business to me it’s money well spent. That blade sharpener makes perfect sense. Also time is money.
Looks like a great product. Question , how do you sharpen the inner portion of the blade that was missed in the video ?
The outer 2-3” is all that really wears.
I'm no were close to being able to buy this....but it sounds like what I'm looking for. Was never impressed with the blade sharpener that either of my former bosses had...so I use a right angle doe grinder...but thus sounds like the real deal.
I already love it
Nice video... not sure if they are that popular or went out of business. I couldn't find one for sale anywhere!! Not at Amazon or even eBay. ....
Yeah we’ve basically sold them out for the last 12 months.. I’m in talks with them periodically to work on a partnership. They’re a small business and just overwhelmed lol. My bad.
Blah blah blah blah.....let's see the damn thing work. I gave up at the nearly half way mark.
Anyone know what the sharpening pitch is on the blades for the Kubota Z-411 ??
Most blades 30 degrees!
@@BriansLawnMaintenance Thanks Brian :)

Hey if people ask, and we can have those conversations, then maybe! Thanks for suggesting. I really do try to go to batt for you guys, heck even for me too so we can all save a few bucks. Every bit adds up!
Brian that would be good
Yeah that might get me to pull the trigger on this tool.
Hey Brian, how well do you like the redtech throttle system on your laser z?
It's great, I don't think much about it, but I do like having the smart tech on the unit.
@@BriansLawnMaintenance im thinking about buying one. I just wanted your opinion on you liked it.
Don’t you loose the anodized coating heating them up with a grinder wheel?
Great question!
