Watched so many live versions of this song (having only learned of it recently in 2018) and every time they kill it. Beautiful to see that people who love music playing music and are good at playing music because they love it.
Excellent performance every time. Ing knows how to seat herself in the vocal harmony and uses the microphone as a musical instrument, articulating the dynamics of her voice so well. Billy and Allie round off the vocal harmony intelligently as well.. not to mention they are great players who really serve the song.

Well she IS in Brooklyn.. if she didnt at least consider it she would be excommunicated. The coastal states of the US have gone bananas.
As a New Yorker born and raised it was crazy to watch PC come in and tidy up the language of a crass, offensive but ultimately loving community.. now its governed by bitterness, and dare i say, hatred in the name of "protecting the marginalized".
So the pressure of that environment likely influenced that train of thought
