I wonder if maybe it could be chinese calligraphy rice paper or similar and maybe built to be thin but handle really wet and pigmented maybe? I feel encouraged that you also rarely reach finished pieces because my squirrel brain so easily lose interest before something is done or get scared to continue or other reasons. A few weeks ago I got luminence pencils and posca pens and some waterproof ink pens and decided to try them out with my 2022 goals of using more references and learn to draw tigers. I drew the sketch with many hours worth of careful effort, started coloring, daylight disappeared and in fatigue and dark mixed with excitement that I still loved it I grabbed the wrong art supply and ruined it. It was such a huge emotion that I took a few weeks art break and today I looked at it and it doesn't look AS bad as it felt in the moment so the urge to practice is back. I hope to get a completed successful tiger before the next lunar new year. Fully drawn, inked and colored! I think coloring is my favorite but only if I am happy with it up until that point. Inking is becoming fun but I have a lot of strengthening to do in the actual sketching, I am often on the struggle bus and I hope reference practice will unstuck me a bit. My animal anatomy has gotten really good anyway compared to what it was pre covid!
Can i just say, that I am re-visiting your channel after years of not following it. I remember the inspiration your tutorials gave me! I am not at an art level I am satisfied with myself, and i am really glad to see your channel still up and running! It brings back great memories for me to hear your voice again! I admit i admire how you think about your process, if i do that it stresses me out to much to try. Thank you for inspiring so many!
I just wanted to thank you, you helped me grow my drawing skills very quickly and inspired me to keep trying. I’m trying out my own RUclips channel and I know for a fact your tutorials have helped me more then you know. I found your channel almost 4 years ago and now I can draw rather well, and it’s all thanks to you. God bless you, Art Ala Carte
I like the detailing with colour pencils part, because it brings it all together, I don’t do inking as much now, I colour the pencil drawing. I actually really love drawing teeth because I see lots of personality and likeness in teeth shapes.
My favorite part of the process is the coloring. I tend to stress during that time. I'm also not a very good inker. No matter how hard I try, I seem to go off the lines made in my sketch.
I love all the steps but my favorite is both inking and coloring. Inking makes it really come alive from the sketch and feels like such an accomplishment. The coloring process for me is really enjoyable, too. Eyes are definitely my favorite feature to draw. I will doodle them anywhere lol
I love making minis!!! I Hoping to get back into it as well. It takes a lot to pull out the miniature making stuff so often that’s a put off. But I am feeling the itch to make more stuff.
Hi. Your video on how to draw a base shape where you turned into nine different cute animals was really helpful! I was wondering if you have a similar technique for drawing the same animals sideways? I wish to learn how to draw different poses for different animals using the same base drawing. Do you have any video on that? Thanks!
used to sketch and draw from 11 years old to like 13 then i quit but u taught me to sketch animals when I was drawing and i jus came across your video to see if u still sketch im about to start back and im 17 now😭😭
hi you probably won't see this, but I was kind of wondering if maybe you could do a couple more animal vids its ok if not I just find them sooooooo helpful and easy and if you do could you maybe do duck or some kind of bird? but its fine! thank you so much this really helped me improve. by the way good job! thanks a lot!!

I like that teal blue, it’s a magical feel
My favorite part of the process is the inking! Love working on all the little details.

That is absolutely gorgeous, you are very talented. You could design stamps for companies for sure
I know I love this girl!

It takes practice, and I mean A LOT of practice

I also like sketching but can relate to only some of them becoming finished pieces! I almost have an idea dump…
I know I've said this before, but I've really missed your miniature Mondays videos! They were so great! God bless you!

@@ArtalaCarte I know how you feel. I also really enjoy making minis, but I'm super busy.

Your artwork was really nice. Can you perhaps make a tutorial on how to draw snakes such as cobras and rattlesnakes please?
Can you make another video about posable puppets? I loved the horse! Maybe a dog?
Honestly the paper had the exact same vibe as cardboard x printer paper vibe
Wow amazing
Very pretty 😀
