Oliver was the industry leader in Diesels then. They made this to see is Gasoline could compete with Diesels for efficiency. The answer was yes, but the 100 octane fuel was too expensive to be practical.
You know it's really cool to think that my uncles worked at the Oliver plant I know one of them was one of the head painters from the mid fifties until the end I don't know what any of the others did though
oliver tractors have a double transmission a low and a high side 4 each gear U can get more field work done on the high side just like raking hay 😊😊 OMG 2 13 2O24
Man wish we could go back to this time and tell the management not to give anything to white if Oliver wasn't bought by white we probably would of seen more of this advancement in Farm Machinery

Oliver had some real advancements then. I actually sat on the XO-121 myself, and it was awesome! I went to the Floyd County Museum in 2014.
Excellent I saved this one. Had a few Olivers. Love them.
Great video. Just wish that there was more stuff out there like this.
Thanks for posting this! 👍

It's at the Floyd County museum in Charles City, Iowa.
I have a super 77, it is really good on gas, sipping gas, flooding power!
Today I helped tune one of the three engines Oliver built for the XO121. Look for it on tour soon
I think the XO 121 should have been put into production.
I wonder whatever possessed the writer to write in all of that voodoo gambling stuff at the beginning? I found that strange.
I agree. Right from the start, I thought it didn't belong.
That thing was neat

No doubt..
I have seen the XO-121 in real life.
I wonder if the late great Mel Blanc did the carnival barker's voice. Sounds like something you'd hear on a Looney Tunes cartoon.
Lol should have just started with diesel. Lol. It's higher compression more torque. Not necessarily horsepower but torque. And more fuel efficient.
More BTUs in a gallon of diesel than a gallon of gasoline.
