Such a beautiful and sooooooooo true song. I cannot watch this video or listen to the song without shedding tears. Every single word in these lyrics is 100% BANG ON!!!!!! Thank you for doing this reaction. Beautiful simply beautiful.❤❤❤❤❤❤
😳🔥🔥😳 ... hot collaboration!!! Wooo .. hot , hot, hot !! Great choice .. Well , after watching your reaction I don't get the feeling that you knew that this song was a HUGE hit for U2 about 30 years ago. They changed it up a bit for this amazing rendition. I have a few years on you Maddy ... but I am very surprised that you didn't know this song already. The lyrics are very well written and the message from the song still is very valid all these years later. Your generation has missed a LOT , and I mean a LOT of great music. Keep on your path .. it is great to see you discover these gems from many eras. ❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️🦋❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️
No harm not being so strong when the emotion on this song is off the scale!. beautiful, beautiful ..Marj J Blige has helped this U2 classic to another level. Who would of thought Mary J blige and U2 produce a very moving, powerful emotional song. Great reaction thank you
This is my ALL TIME favourite song x Mary J Blige's version is even better than the original x such awesome lyrics x and Mary takes it supersonic at the end she is so amazing.
I've been loooving this version for years now and will continue to do so. Maybe this is a bit over the top, but I feel that this interpretation and crossover is a milestone in music history. Great reaction and emotion from you! Love from Germany
Maddy, it is always a great pleasure seeing you reacting to videos : you look like a pure hearted 6 years old girl getting the toy she desired ! I can even sometimes see stars in your eyes. kepp that pure heart. Now , about the song, HUGE thank you : I discovered Mary J Blige (I knew her name) , well what an amazing voice !
That WAS epic! Don't think I've seen that particular video. This has already been on my playlist, but I haven't heard it in a while. Thank you! 💚 One request: Aretha Franklin "(You make me feel like a) Natural Woman" live at Kennedy Center in tribute to Carole King being honored. Also epic!
The song (original) is as good as this version, the album Autung baby is absolute fire , banger after banger from start to finish. I do love this version just because Mary has one of my favourite voices in music ❤❤.
A lot of rock singers have a raspy voice, but Freddie's tone was quite clear. Also, the drummer (Roger Taylor) would have been the lead vocalist in almost any other band but this one had a vocal god in it.
How to F UP a perfect song, just screaming over it. Missing the whole point to the song, killing all intimacy. Can't believe let this happen! Disgrace of that brilliant song!!
You sound dumb and clearly don’t know anything about music and singing. The original is wack. That is why they had to remake it and get the greatest soul singer to revamp the song and their career.
This is a far subpar version. Gone are the actual emotions and heartbreak and uplift of the original. Vocal acrobatics bring absolutely zero to this masterpiece. One of the greatest songs ever written and performed by any rock band, on the greatest alternative rock album of all time.
I like this version better than the original U2 version. And I really like the original. But her voice really brings something extra special to an already very good song.
@@nianfiedler5291 No no I'm 100% sure that I do like this version better than the original. *Full disclosure though, it took a while for U2 to grow on me (I only started liking them around their 6th album). And I still think Sunday Bloody Sunday is complete garbage & one of the worst songs ever.
Eh. The original is much more powerful. I love Mary J. But her vocal theatrics suck the emotion from the original. Probably THE most important song to the band. On the verge of breakup, Edge in the middle of a divorce. This song is sacred to U2 fans. Mary J. Is fine. But nothing will ever approach the original. Yes Bono hits the same high notes 😊
You sound foolish. Mary’s version is wayyyyy better and more powerful. The original is very basic. They sound like they are laying down singing. Mary’s version sold more and is more popular. No one remembers the original but U2 fans and old people.
Vocally, this version doesn't come close to U2's original version. Bono's original lyrics were understated and emotional, drawing the listener in. Bono doesn't have that voice any more, and Mary J's voice and shouty delivery just doesn't suit the song. Muse once covered 'Where The Streets Have No Name', featuring The Edge. Matt Bellamy's voice would be a much better compliment to Bono's.
Mary j Blige just completes this song. Amazing artist amazing performance I love it❤
The original is already an incredible song, and then for Mary Jane to do what she did here just took the power of it all to the top.
Better😂❤
Mary Jane. I love it!
Oh boy, never heard Mary J before! She's amazing! New sub and loving your reactions 💚
U2 wrote such a beautiful song but to have Mary just epic level, liked!
Agreed!!!

She was good actor in show power
AGREED!!
she was good in umbrella academy season 1 too !
Another great Mary J collab is Mary J with the late George Michael in „As“. (and the video is also worth seeing and must have been a pain to shoot!)
This musical combo is straight fire!🔥
Mary loved this song so much she turned up numerous times at u2 concerts to sing it
So happy people are reacting to this version. Thank you.
This is my ALL TIME favourite song x Mary J Blige's version is even better than the original x such awesome lyrics x and Mary takes it supersonic at the end she is so amazing.
The Truth can be held in a whisper or it can roar like a Lion. Either way they're both true. Blues and Gospel and Rock. Par excellence.

I love it too!

I completely agree that Mary J’s Interpretation seems to intensify U2’s lyrics (which are pretty monumental). Thanks for reacting to it (from USA).

U2's version is brilliant and was one of my favourite songs...then I saw Mary team up with them at the Grammys...wow just wow,
That WAS epic! Don't think I've seen that particular video. This has already been on my playlist, but I haven't heard it in a while. Thank you! 💚

LOVE IS A TEMPLE
Beautiful version of this song Gorgeous Maddy
That was a good recommendation. I've never seen this rendition before.
Love both versions.
Awesome collaboration. I think they did this 13yrs ago and I hadn't heard it until 6 months ago.

"Achtung..." ;o)
@@robertgieseler1220 Didn’t even realise I’d spelt it wrong 🥴🫠🤣.
Mary kicks this into the stratosphere, she is untouchable here.
Holly Mary!!
My fav.

Uk, mary is awesome,
Great song.
Agreed
SHE IS PERFECT I LOVE THATS MUSIC
So good!
THANKS
Not bad for a song written in 1991! Mary took a great song and turned it up a notch! I'm totally digging your reaction style, it's authentic.
Being in Ireland … love it
Mary J. Bilge what can I say?
RIGHT

Well, I'm not convinced either, I'll stick to the original, but she can sing, you have to give it to her.
@@Demoscene0x0801 no one plays the original and this version is more successful and impactful.
Nice song choice to react maddy
Yes 🤍
Paul David Hewson (Bono and U2) are Legends, Mary J Blige super performer and crazy voice. Legendary song!
It was always brilliant,
Then they asked Mary J to join....
I cry every time,,,
It's pretty damp great. More life to it than the original, but for me, I still prefer the original that little bit more.
Great reaction, absolut better than the original, and a great song and the best vocals from Mary J Blige ever - just perfect
I agree 🫣

@@nianfiedler5291The original is bland and boring. No feeling or emotion. Bono sounded lazy. No one plays that version but old people like you.
I like this version better than the original U2 version. And I really like the original. But her voice really brings something extra special to an already very good song.
You are wrong.

It is better and everyone agrees even real U2 fans. Mary’s version is more popular and sold more.
Yeah, you need to listen to the original

Thank you. This song collab strips the song of its pure perfection.
You sound dumb. This version is far better and Mary is a better singer than Bono will ever be.
Yet this version is more popular and sold more. You mad because a black woman is on the song that’s the real issue.
@@HereForQueenMJB Yeah, good one, princess. I bought the album when it was released and this version in no way outperformed the original.
@@andrewstrongman305 Yes it did
What I appreciate is U2 let Mary be Mary❤
🥲 Forgot how good this version is
