    Bonjour,
    I think that the originality of your channel is best. Frencheezee is kind of unique and you are known by it.
    You have shown a great deal of responsibility in doing what you doing and you should keep your original page name. That is my opinion of course, everyone has one and it may differ from mine.
    Good luck and keep up the excellent work.
    Tu eres muy inteligente y unica en tu clase!
    Thank you.

    I already knew all these. One day I found out by accident on some youtube video that they make a lot of small shortcuts in French. I doubt most learners are aware of these because it's kind of hard to find anyone that goes over these online, most people just go over textbook french, of course textbooks don't even mention them. So it was nice to see you at least touch on them, it helps in understanding movies. I stumbled on the fact that in the first harry potter audio book read by Bernard Giraudeau in French, he will do about 2 to 6 contractions on each page. Like Ce qu'il becoming c'qu'il or even just c'qu'i. Pas de becoming pa'd like pa'd panique. Bois de saule becoming boi'd saule. Quatre becoming quat'. Matin to mat', and many more. If anyone is interested, it works best to download the audio into audacity which gives you good control of playback, you can isolate words to play over and over until you figure out the contractions. Unfortunately it's kind of tedious and slow going, going sentence by sentence to find contractions, but it works. Though I don't just do this to find contractions.
    As far as the name, I'm fine with either --- learn french with frencheezee or Cindy. Someone suggested "Frencheezee with Cindy" which is good.

    This is so good, the fact that you're adressing this while totally not appropriate in exam settings is so nice, cause im sure not a lot of channels would focus on those kind of things, thanks for not making me sound like a fool in french ;)

    Frankly speaking, French with Cindy sounds more friendly and also can identify your personality. But i believe that people get used to Learn French With Frenchcheezee. Therefore, if you keep your old name, it will not get confuse your audience. Of course this is only my opinion. I enjoy studying French with both names, anyway. :). Hope you can make up your mind soon.

      Thank you very much for your kind words. Spanish is my third language, I studied it at school and university. I can understand most of what I read, however, I stayed in a hostel recently, some Spaniards were staying there too... and I was very disappointed to find I could hardly understand anything they were saying when talking amongst themselves! I definitely need to do something about that!

    Just got the email from Cindy to watch this today ! Nice and perfect for me as I just want to speak the language and not worry about any fussy exams . can't wait to be able to visit France again . Still have had last year à apprendre le français. I have found there are lots of oddities of "grammer" rules broken . Why is "Vous a plu" for instance in J'espere que vous a plu - I hope you enjoyed it ?

    • @Frencheezi
      @Frencheezi  3 года назад +1

      Did you mean: "J'espère que ça vous a plu."? "a plu" is the passé composé of the verb "plaire" (to delight, like, enjoy etc.)

    Cindy, I like the Eiffel Tower icon on your videos and I like seeing your face when you speak French because it helps to learn French by watching how an actual person moves the lips to make the sounds of the words, that is one of the methods speech therapists teach students who have a hard time pronouncing words correctly...and I also like your cute kitty. Alice, from Texas, USA

    • @Frencheezi
      @Frencheezi  7 лет назад +1

      I'm planning on making real 'face' lessons my main teaching method in the future. So I'm really glad you seem to like this format better! :)

    • @alicephrontistery
      @alicephrontistery 7 лет назад +1

      Cindy, thank you for responding to my comment. It is a fact that most often, people tend to filter out certain sounds from languages other than their own. That's why many times people can read a different language before they can listen with understanding. "Can you repeat that?" or "Would you please say that more slowly?" are the questions most asked by a new language learner. Cindy, you speak very clearly and with an evenly paced cadence. Seeing the facial movements, and even the facial expressions really helps a lot in learning French. By the way, if your cat chances by in the next videos, that would be just wonderful, too! Alice, from Texas, USA

      @Frencheezi  7 лет назад +1

      I know what you mean, I feel the same about Spanish. I understand pretty much everything I read, but not quite as much of what I hear. I'm sure Lexie would love to make another appearance! She's very nosy! lol

    Great lesson Cindy!!! New subbie here. I find it very difficult to understand all contractions and verlan they use. My native language is spanish but I love watching videos in english so I can improve more than one language at the same time. By the way, your french is great, congrats!

    • @Frencheezi
      @Frencheezi  7 лет назад +1

      Thanks but that's because I'm French ;) lol. I've lived in England for 12 years so English is my second language. I've also studied Spanish at university level, but as I haven't used it since completing my degree, I think it's getting a bit rusty! I really need to get back to it lol. Could you maybe recommend any Spanish youtubers / family vloggers? I think watching a few of these in your target language is also a great way to improve. Let me know if you want me to recommend a few French channels :)

      Learn French With Frencheezee bonsoir Cindy! Wow I wouldn’t have realized if you hadn’t told me. (Sorry if that’s incorrect, I have some issues with conditionals ha, what I mean is that your english is perfect too. I don’t follow many spanish channels, just 2 expat girls, from Venezuela , one of them living in USA (maiah ocando) and the other one in Canada (vanne montes).Check them if you like to hear some random stories about living abroad mixed with their personal lifestyle. If you enjoy really great travelling vloggers, they are Alanxelmundo (a mexican expert traveller) and Vagaboom (a couple travelling on bike) . I’m from Argentina so I also suggest Argentinos por el mundo. Now I want yours! Thank you in advance

    *Sorry, I meant this comment for your previous video on French mispronouncing French.* 😜
    Yes I always leave my spoon in my coffee which annoys me👀🙄😱😝 and half way through I remove it.
    Cindy thank you soooooo much for making this video and saying all you did about *not feeling ashamed or being shamed about the mistakes.* I lived in Paris 45 yrs ago for 2 yrs and was shamed constantly in restaurants or anywhere... They would say QUOI not trying to understand... it was very disheartening, but I loved the city.. It's history... monuments... food... museums....and the language❤️👀🙄🌹
    Hopefully next time I speak clearer🙏🏾

    I like the tips here, especially not having to twist my tongue to pronounce words that may not actually be used when speaking with or trying to understand French people, if you could make a videos is the "real world" way of speaking to others in France that would be great and you use one name like Frencheezee. Then the other videos for people study proper French can be called French with Cindy...or vice versa. Keep up the good work either way

    Coucou. First, permit me to express for me and all fellow Americans our mutual shock, horror, and deep sadness triggered by the tragic fire at Notre Dame. What a sad day. Neither French nor English nor words in any language (perhaps music) can capture such deep emotions.
    Moving on, I vote for "French with Cindy."
    You are an excellent teacher. Please permit me to suggest that you consider doing a lesson on a side-to-side comparison of pronunciation of nasals: "-an, -en, in, & -on." Maybe invent a little sentence that lists the nasals in the order of open or closed sound quality. The side by side aspect is most important, otherwise we beginners end up making the same nasal sound for all nasals.
    Merci beaucoup again for your commitment to educating us about your beautiful language.

    "Quoi" literally means "What" in English and it's an easy French filler word to learn for Tagalog speakers. The Tagalog word "Ano" literally means "What" in English as Filipinos like to use "Ano" as a filler word when speaking Tagalog.

    Bonjour,
    L'emploie de « on » au lieu de « nous » est tout-à-fait correct. « on » a plusieurs utilisations, entre autres comme duel « toi et moi ». C'est aussi un pronom indéfini, ou est utilisé à la place de « tu » ou « vous » dans un sens diplomatique, etc.
    Salut.

    But I never use, "tu" or "ta". Only vous, votre, and vos.
    For example, "Vous avez pris votre clé?"
    So does that mean I don't have to worry about non-textbook contractions?

      You don't need to make contractions with vous, however, there are other contractions which you could make and which would help you sound more French. For example, il y a often becomes y a, ce qui often becomes c'qui, ce que often becomes c'que and so on... That said, contractions are NEVER compulsory. They make speech sound more casual and more natural, but you don't have to make any of them. It's your call. However, avoid them in your exams!

    Dear Ms. Cindy. I would like to apologize in advance for the irrelevance of this question, but could you please help me, break down this rather random sentence from the larousse: "Les différentes formes que peut prendre le verbe ajoutent des précisions, par example sur l'époque à laquelle se situe une action, sur sa durée, etc."??

    • @Frencheezi
      @Frencheezi  7 лет назад +1

      It means the forms of a verb, will give you information about when the action / event took place (present / past / future...) and how long it lasted. The endings are also dependent on the subject... In other words, as opposed to a verb in the infinitive which is neutral and gives no information, a conjugated verb gives you valuable information. Hope this answers your question :)

    I'd have to contest with the exams statement, I took IB French SL in HS and they heavily influenced us to utilize slang. Why? I have no damn idea lol.

      Really?? I'm surprised!! Maybe they want to teach the way French is actually spoken, which wouldn't be a bad idea! lol.

    If you use "on" you must conjugate it like a "il" ou "elle", and not like a "nous".
