  • In this video I attempt to explain the new updates to the HMRC tax rules for 2024. From the 1st of January this year, the HMRC have requested that all marketplace and gig economy. Apps will now have to report users earnings to the HMRC. HMRC have brought in these rules to catch out people who are posing as private sellers, but in actual fact our business sellers and have not registered for tax. It’s to tax the resellers, I’m sick of people buying clothes for example at TK maxx and reselling them for a higher price.

What about electronics? I’m very into tech so buy the latest and greatest expensive tech items all the time and sell them within a year of being brand new and been making way more money than £1000 per year.

Sorry to stand one corrected hox but you don't pat tax wen over a gee you just have to register your hussle you still only have to pat tax when you hit the 12 - 13 bags mark it's about 12,750 something like that? The problem the government will have is inforcing it most ppl ain't go bother till the hitting atleast the bear minimum.

You're right at 12.5k of earning, but most people already pay basic rate tax, so they are liable to tax on these sales
