Honda CT 125 HUNTER CUB - The Ultimate Adventure Motorcycle?
    #hondact125, #huntercub, #hondact125huntercub
Have you ever wondered which can be the ideal adventure motorcycle?
Everybody wants the adventure motorcycle to be small, light, cheap, big tank range, fuel efficient, to have a low and confortable seat, capable off-road, and with a pillion seat.
The Honda CT125 Hunter Cub seems to have it all, but, stay with us, until the end of the video, to speak more in detail about it!
🔴I am a big fan of small motorcycles and mopeds! I used to have a four stroke, 50cc, chinese moped, and I was quite happy with it, for more than 22,000 Kilometers.
Traveling almost for free, thousands of kilometers, even long distances, enjoying the landscape and not worrying about much anything.
✅In today's video we'll discuss about the new Honda CT125, also called as "Hunter Cub".
The video makes a comprehensive presentation of its features, compares it with the SuperCub and asks the question if this can be the ultimate adventure motorcycle.
Also we'll discuss about the availability of the bike around the world for the future, about its price and we'll take a look at the already released accessories.
This video is presented for the first time, as a voice over, by my new colleague from the Ideal Bike RUclips Channel - Ethan - please give him a good welcome 😉

This bike can really make a difference, and to be honest what other bike can really offer the same ? What are really its competitors? I asume that the monkey but still: crashbars, off road suspensios, high exhaust, amazing fuel consumption, modified air intake...and so on. Lets see other brands what are they offering? Nothing on this range ! Thanks for this video!

There are definitely good intentions from Honda, and you are right : the other brands are not really thinking about this segment of small adventure bikes.

I showed this bike to my wife. NOW, she is interested in riding. We're early/mid-sixties in age. I'm getting a Himalayan, but she said no way was she riding on back, and she didn't want to man-handle her own bike. So I showed her the CT-125, and instantly, she said, "Now that looks like fun". It may cost me another $3,900 to get her a bike too, but she won't feel stuck at home when I go riding. She can go with me.

I have mixed feeling about the look of the Super Cub. I like the sleek lines and the 50s style, but it looks a little too much like a scooter to me, but this bike, this bike I like! It's classic and rugged looking! It's way more classy than most dirt bikes or dual sports I see today! (That's just my opinion) It looks like the kind of bike I could enjoy a nice Sunday ride down a country road then hop on over to a dirt trail or two on my way home! I hope they sell them in Canada soon!

While still living in the Philippines in the 70s, my friends and I used to tour the islands in our tiny Honda XL 100 motorbikes, sometimes travelling 250 to 500 kilometers in one day in all kinds of terrain, from sea level to mile high localities. They were fun bikes but ultra reliable ones.

I had the Trail 90 back in the late 60’s. It was absolutely bulletproof and a joy for off roading on trails. Once I loaded it up with about 300 lbs of gear and got in and out of the wild. The transmission made navigating hills on rough terrain easy. What a machine.

Ideal Bike My son is a geologist and was looking for something for getting around in the back country where he can’t access with his 4x4. We talked about getting an older CT90 but conditions vary. This is ideal... can’t wait to tell him about it. As far as riding the CT125, it’s gotta be better than the 90. Anyone can learn to ride one of these with ease. I was 12 when I started and rode the crap out of my 90 for a decade. Not one issue with it. Used it for general goofing around and hunting.

      @IdealBike  4 года назад +3

I saw a video about the Australian Post Office that are using the former CT 110. As a delivery bike seems perfect, it's a reliable engine, but they have to do something with that swing arm, the skidplate doesn't cover completely the downpipe in the front, pencil-thin front forks. The positives are in the video 😁

That motor design started out back in about 1966, on the S90, and the design has soldiered on in several variations, and has been copied, en-masse, by the PRC factories... it's easy to service, stone reliable, and pretty decent on fuel economy.
The front fender, and the tubular mounting brackets, improve the torsional rigidity of the front forks, providing more solid steering over rocks, and on rutted roads.

Does this still have the 6 volt electrical system? Video said you could kick start and run with a low battery, but my CT 90s and CT 110 will not run at all if battery voltage gets too low. Having good batteries is essential if you don't want to get stuck in the hills. Batteries in the US are cheap. Less than $20.

I think that I would prefer, from a practicality standpoint, the 'mag-style' wheels, with tubeless tires...if the rims spring a leak, it is still possible to install a tube, but tubeless tires are far more reliable in day-to-day application, and much more capable of running a distance after a small puncture, instead of the way tires with tubes experience quite sudden deflation, especially "nice" at highway speeds...
It's disappointing that they dropped the lo-range transmission option, but this is probably a reflection of the 96% of the market that will use these as city bikes, or open-range agricultural rides.

Just spoked today with the Honda Dealer here in Bucharest, Romania - there will be no Hunter Cub in Europe, due to the fact that the bike cannot meet the EURO 5 regulations. Also the Supercub seems to be taking out of production. Perhaps it is possible to bring a ”second hand” with few miles Hunter Cub from Asia or other continent. It is a sad news unfortunately for the europeans that wanted this bike to arrive here also (me included).

The ct 125 hunter cub 2020 is the new version ( rear disc, 125 cc instead of 110, led light) of the postman cub from the 80’. Although beautiful, the new CT 125 seems to miss the point compared to my 1984 CT 110. It's still too slow to be safe on the highway, and without the high / low sub transmission, it's not really a trail bike. If Honda added the sub transmission, then the slight increase in horsepower would make for a winner. For trail riding the old 110 is cheaper and more capable. Still, I love my 110 and 3 CT 90s for family trail rides.

A lot of owners LOVE their #CT125! But a HUGE number of these Hondas are always for sale - some with less than 100 miles! Why? Buyer's Remorse. The cycle is slow, under-powered, and uncomfortable on longer rides. After paying upwards of $5,000, the new owners discover that the #CT125 isn't like any other motorcycle they have owned or want to ride. On the other hand, the #Honda Trail is so different, quirky, and nostalgic that the rest of the owners say that it is their FAVORITE motorcycle. Despite its limitations, they plan to keep it forever. Now imagine being able to buy this little, retro 125cc for HALF the price? More riders would both BUY and KEEP it - and live with the realities of riding a mini-moto. For an affordable alternative, see also the NEW CSC Wolf 125: ruclips.net/video/8jpkb_OIxig/видео.htmlsi=aglHuqc7jBrBi4NO
