Hog nuts! Love it! Ive been making a version of these fir years. I make about 300 of them and show up to the party with like half because they're irresistible. They always get wiped out too! Try this... Soak the chestnuts in soy sauce, honey, and mirin overnight. Wrap and deep fry them in peanut oil. About 3-4 mins. Then roll in brown sugar after they drop for no more than a minute. Its crunchy chewy salty sweet and BACON!
You’re a very good teacher you don’t waste time you give the facts, I very much appreciate that. I just received yesterday my Camp Chief Pro 24 inch. I am so excited to get started. Whole chicken is going to be my first make use of smoker. The hog nuts are some thing I’ve made for years in the house oven. They’re always a winner and now to be able to add the smoke is a winner, I am very pleased with that idea. Thank You!
@@AndersonsSmokeShow : I am! One suggestion I have for future content: I'm unclear whether to have a pan of water in the smoker. How much? Where to place it? When to use it? I haven't seen you mention it.
Dude. Me and my girl made these about 3 weeks ago and I'll tell you what they were killer. We've been watching your videos of learning a lot. Appreciate it for sure
Thank you for such a great channel. When I got my Masterbuilt Gravity Series 800 your assembly video helped me tremendously. Been a dedicated watcher ever since.
I almost picked that sauce up at my costco! Can’t do the recipe, i don’t like water chestnuts, i can’t tell you why, cause i have no clue. I just know i don’t like them, lol! Keep up the good work! I always look forward to you videos!
Hey man! Hope all is well! I’ve only ever had them one other time at a wedding like 15 years ago, but they were stuck in the back of my mind! I haven’t seen anyone smoke them so I was like “eh what the hell” and they turned out great!
@@AndersonsSmokeShow Yeah doing well, have a little boy on the way! How are you doing? My family has always coated them in BBQ sauce and baked them in the oven, smoked sounds like next level!
Wouldn't have fathomed smoking water chestnuts but this looks amazing and I like how they can be used as an appetizer, especially while waiting for a larger smoke to finish.
Yeah smoking apps while smoking the main course is usually my go to. I’ve got a smoked Mexican street corn dip video coming out Friday that’s perfect for that as well! My guests have gone CRAZY for it too
We lived in Sonoma County CA for 40 years and our son went to school and played sports with the grandson of the original maker of the recipe. Funny to see this
