more supply will reduce prices.
      2. Corporations explored cheaper sources of supply from South East Asia like Malaysia 🙋🏻‍♂️, Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam, etc.

I am living in the UK right now and I don’t think there’s a so called solution for this predicament. My energy bill doubled since April and it will quadruple after September comparing with the same time last year. Many basic commodities such as sunflower oil, butter, chicken and iceberg cost 50%-100% more today in my area than 4 months ago. The astronomical energy prices, global inflation, supply chain disruptions, war in Ukraine, Brexit and pandemic… So many factors are responsible for the inflation, whereas so little can be done to ease any of those. Yet I do agree that simply increase the wages is out of the option cus that will only exacerbate the already precarious situation. Sadly, People in Britain will suffer, just like people in else where. In a globalized world, no one can really escape this.

I really enjoyed this video, you are not just making a video! you are documenting history too! Keep it going Susie! I hope more people can be interviewed and more topics can be discussed! But I left UK in 2010 after Lehman shock..now I am living in Tokyo, the inflation rate here just hit 3% and the government is keeping the current interest rate without consider raising however overall Japan is less affected by economy but we are facing high COVID cases these days approx. 150-200k per day!! Stay safe !!!

  • @yenyennojoking
    @yenyennojoking 2 года назад +3

    供給與需求的預期心理,讓供給端累積到一定的程度,賣方才會願意降價。而現在漲的都是必需品,所以要改變的是生活方式與習慣,某些非必需商品是跌價的,但消費端不會知道通縮的狀況。商品都在賣方,資本主義的市場不會讓你知道底牌。大數據分析,更可以精準操作市場,消費端只是待宰羊。不願意改變生活方式?那就會繼續漲!因為一直有需求,為何要跌?最近船運價格是連跌的,已經透露跡象,但物價已經漲了一波,當你是必需品持有者,你會願意讓價格跌回來嗎?食品、用品大部分有保存期限,大家可以試試比氣長~

    通澎與通縮都很可怕,國家的政府要能滾動即時的彈性政策,才是有力的阻擋向下,國家政局的穩定,經濟本身長久固有實力,才能在大浪下安穩渡過。

Take this as an opportunity to change the bad living habits, e.g.
    1. Eat less carbohydrate, reduce sugar, bread, rice, potato...etc consumption,
they tend to make you more hungry.
    2. Instead, use fruits to replace your lunch.
    Reduce energy loss at home,
    3. get some insulating boards and stick them on the walls, that should reduce the energy bills in winter.
    4. Use the bubble warps and stick them to the windows in the winter, give one more layer of insulation.

Normal 4 pints milk was £1, when I first arrived in UK 5 years ago. And now it is £1.45. Cooking oil was £1 too at that time, and now it could be 2.5 in some supermarkets. Can't believe it

The quality of living is really poor in the UK and literally all EU countries. The cost of goods and services is high, and deposable income (ie after taxes) is low. The purchasing power per cap in the UK is probably only half of its ex-colonies such as HK or SG.
