Tmac = underrated. He can dunk, shoot 3 points consistently, do no look assists, rebound block, he has a high basketball IQ. He played with greats like Michael Jordan, Allen Iverson, Kobe, Lebron, Dirk Nowitzki, etc... He's just as good as his cousin Vince Carter. Too bad McGrady's injuries forced him to retire back in 2013.

@@mashwork6615 over a time period yeah but when vince was in his early Toronto prime I'm not sure . Tmac may have led the league in scoring but he shot low %s very often . In 99 to 01 vince may have easily been not only the best guard but a top 5 player his averages PER were almost top 3 in every important offensive category.

Tmac in his prime was considered as the best offensive player right there with Jordan. Just look at his movements with and without the ball shit just silky smooth just straight up scorer now we have Kevin Durant who has a similar game as Tmac . Shit crayz that tmac was 6"9 and played like a pointguard that made him unstoppable just sad he had so many injuries

Did you read this properly? CONSIDERED, RIGHT THERE WITH - Yes he was considered up there. Apparently you didn't watch nba basketball during Tmacs prime? They said he was one of the best OFFENSIVE players. Not overall, or greatest, but OFFENSIVE!.

Jordan would literally put up 30-40 on above 50% shooting. Mcgrady would do that on 40% or below. Jordan was literally unguardable. He had the post fadeaway he pretty much had everything.

Its not how much points you score over the course of the game that's effective, its how much you can score in a short amount of time. When you score in a short amount of time it takes the other team out of the game, basketball is a mental game and if someone is going crazy in a few minutes, they might not even score so much over the course of the game but they likely took the opposing team out of the game by making them think wow we can't stop this guy. Which is what makes guys like t-mac and kobe so effective. Its too bad mcgrady couldn't stay healthy.

Houston struggled with injuries that year and lacked depth, they missed the playoffs, then drafted Rudy Gay with the 8th pick only to trade him for Shane Battier. After that they were pretty good for a few years until more injuries took over. Sorry for rambling but as a Rocket fan you sometimes just think what could've been.

Honestly, T-Mac had that killer instinct that nobody else had during his prime to the point he was nearly unguardable. The one who could probably go toe to toe with him (at the time, but correct me if I'm wrong) was Kobe as he had his own killer instinct, but even for Kobe it was difficult one on one. Lebron doesn't have much of a killer instinct, but more of strength and athleticism to score against T-Mac. But either way, watching games with T-Mac against the likes of other superstars like Lebron and especially Kobe, it just makes me jump off my seat.

Rudy Gay lacks a lot of things that made T-mac a superstar. Gay doesnt have the ball handling ability of T-mac which makes penetrating into the paint much more difficult. He doesn't have any playmaking ability which removes the passing threat. He's a worse rebounder than T-Mac despite being just as tall and athletic.
Rudy lacks the natural talent and b-ball IQ that made T-Mac great. Durant is the closest to T-mac right now.

If you don't know what you are talking about then seriously don't even judge other people with such confidence. King James is *NOT* overrated. He was the dominant player since he step foot into the NBA and is currently still the best player. Look at his stats, his attributes, his talent, his abilities and his accomplishment. Secondly, he did went to Miami to rings and championships but the way you are stating is entire wrong. He didn't exactly went to Wade and Bosh for the title. Wade needed him as much as he needed championships. They both met, came to agreement and Bosh was still in Raptors. Then James and Wade were able to recruit Bosh to come to Miami too, why? Because Bosh was as hungry as James were to win championship. Wade had already won one by that time but he knew he was going to need more talents in order to win another championship so if you look at it, they all needed one another. And if you are going to hate Lebron for leaving Cleveland that time, then you don't know the business of basketball sports. Everyone wants to at least win A* championship. Lebron stayed with Cleveland for 7 years despite them being one of the worst teams. He even led them to playoffs. Did you even had hopes of Cleveland to win championship let along make it to the playoffs- the answer is NO*- and who came up and took the role of leadership and led them- Lebron. Being one of the best and possibly being a talent that would only come once in a century and still not be able to win titles despite his/her best performance, then it is truly the incapability of the team and at that time it was Cleveland. I can understand about those Cleveland fans who hated him , those who were emotional attached to the team franchise but for those who said that they didn't needed him in Cleveland during his free agency period in 2014 before he moved back to Cleveland, they are just full of bullshit. Lebron was their only hope during that time and he is still their only hope now. Look at the stats of Cleveland before 2015, even when Kyrie was in Cleveland. They were practically a shit team. Who gave them the chance to play in playoffs and make final appearance and compete for the title in 2015?- Lebron. He is their leader. They need him just as much as he needs them. Kyrie is a great if not one of the best PG at the moment with best handles but he couldn't have led Cleveland to Finals unlike Lebron. Plus, all those players alike Kevin Love, JR Smith, Iman Shumpert and Timofey Mozgov. Why did they want to play for Cleveland- It's because they knew they had the shot at the title with Lebron back in Cleveland. This is a fact and try to embrace it - Lebron is the main* reason what Cleveland is today. So please don't tell us that he is overrated and that he was selfish to win that he left Cleveland to go to Miami and came back just so he could people to accept his apologies for Cleveland in the first place. How can you deny him as one of the great NBA players to ever set foot in it and still is the most dominant player right now when the NBA officials approves him of in national television almost everyday.

Well lebron teamed up with cb and dwade , but whos the leader ? Its lebron. You think if tmac will be he leader if he teamed up with other stars ? I dint think so ! Plus the first time lebron went to the finals with the cavs there are no other stars in his team and even allstar . Plus hes like 21 to 23 years old at that time . Did tmac do the same ? Tmac is a better scorer than lebron in his prime , but not a better player , and you call him overrated because he teamed up with cb and dwade . He has a stellar career even before he joined the heat so stfu ok ?

+someone he saying the truth of tmac had wade and bosh and ray allen on hes team i bet he would win one too. even lebron knows hes heat rings arent as signifcant as wades ring, kobe, jordan thats why he came back to win one in cleveland

how is he a fanboy for stating facts? MVPs don't mean a thing? are you fucking kidding me?
"The MVP award is decided by a panel of sportswriters and broadcasters throughout the United States and Canada. Voting is conducted by 125 members of the media; three from each of the 30 cities in which NBA teams are located and the rest a mix of national writers and broadcasters."
so explain to me how that is a popularity contest? You're telling me a guy who went 27, 8 and 7 with 56% from the floor

As you can see in this vid, despite the fact that Lebron was in his physical prime in this game, he was having problems guarding an injured McGrady, and you think that "strength and athleticism " alone is enough to beat prime T-Mac...smh
Simply put, no one is beating '01-'03 McGrady one-on-one.
