      I work as a professional clown and went to Canberra with two other clowns to see if we could get into Parliament and question time in the full costumes .we got to the door of the question time gallery and the old bastard wouldn't let us in. so they are quite particular about the type of clown they let in

    I am a 70 year old lady and disabled pensioner and while I am forever grateful for a roof over my head living in housing commission I now understand why after ten years I am still waiting for the department to make a decision on whether they should supply me with a bedroom door .. Just a foot note I am still waiting .

      try contacting a local lions club if you’re able to! i’ve met some of the volunteers for a lions club in diamond valley, VIC and they’ve done things from cleaning drive ways to repairing front doors for seniors and veterans. not sure if this will be useful but i hope it can help, my mother also lives in housing commission and i understand how frustrating it can be.

    Back when I was in school and they asked us what we wanted out vocations to be I answered a Politician.
    I was told “you need to do a lot of work and a lot of experience is needed, as it’s a very serious and difficult job to maintain”
    I said “is it really? Doesn’t seem like it from what I’ve seen”
    I stand by those words 28 years later.

    Pauline Hanson has been in the news and in politics for my entire life and hasnt accomplished anything, nothing in Australia changes
    all the news hosts, all the morning hosts, all the weather people, all the tv shows holy shit you can leave the country in 2010, come back in 2023 and everything is exactly the same

      This mentality is exactly what's wrong with politics.
      Politicians are not your friends, and shouldn't be your friends. It's their job to sacrifice their own personal lives for the greater good of society. But voters are brainless and irrational, and will vote for [candidate I'd like to grab a beer with] rather than their broader policies and worldview. There's a reason tall, handsome, and charismatic prime ministers or presidents get elected more often regardless of their politics.
      And politicians appeal to this mindset! It's the dominant mindset! I hate when politicians say shit about how their family is the most important thing to them. No it's not! You're supposed to work for us at the expense of your own life!
      Individualism has destroyed the social fabric of not only this country but the modern world.
