- KAILAS FUGA DU First Run & First Impressions Review. The FUGA DU has a lot to live up to because I really enjoyed the last trail shoe I tested from the brand, the FUGA EX2. The FUGA DU has some very unique features that I'm excited to try, like the ultra wide platform design of the midsole and the TPU heel cradle. The weather gods were definitely not on our side for the first run so I headed off to Tehidy Woods to seek shelter from the elements and tested them out.

Thanks for posting, I hope you're back to 100% soon, and your lungs aren't too stressed from the hill at the end. I have never heard of KAILAS until this video. Thanks for your content, this channel is my go to, for gear review and race documentaries. I watched your waterproof jacket overview last week and decided on the Janji waterproof jacket (a 30000/30000 Hydrostatic rating jacket) (Runners need had a good deal on it!!). Have you ever ran in any of their gear? They do give some of their profits to water projects around the world.

I would be afraid I would catch the wide outsole with the other shoe when running when fatigued during long runs, or I’d catch it on rocks or roots. It looks interesting though. I do like the idea, but it may take some getting used to. Great job as always!

Drove once with trail running shoes. Yeah, bad idea.
That wider outsole puts me off, if you have large feet anyway (I'm UK 10.5) then you run the risk of catching your foot on narrow trails, that wider section would make it even worse, in my opinion, not a fan of the price either! Saucony and inov8 both do shoes that appear just as good and are a lot cheaper!
Very interesting shoe. That is a very wide midsole to not have enough room for your foot!
The bottom of the midsole is actually a but wider than the top Greg and It does pinch in quite narrow in the toe box 🤔
The upper fitted my foot shape really well but if you have a wide foot it really wouldn't work. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment it's appreciated 🙏
How does it compare with the Speedgoat 5? I've tried on and walked around in the previous 2 Kailas and they both felt stiff and hard not cushiony at all. I have boney narrow feet and ankles.
It's well cushioned but a Speedgoat midsole would be softer Sue 👍
Altra should get rid of the Mont Blanc and put that vibram on the Timp 5.
A Vibram megagrip outsole would definitely improve the Timp Austin! It would also put the price up as well 👍 Thanks for watching the channel it's really appreciated 🙏

design looks horrible and the toe box looks very pointy and cramped, I won't be wasting 200 euros!!
It's definitely an interesting looking running shoe and you're right, it does pinch in quite narrow in the toe box 👍
