@@lrn_news9171 you nailed it on the head, but we could feel in the air that we needed something new and fresh back then, because they milked the hard rock hair metal thing too much. I think the 80's burnt a lot of people up! But it was the best by far.
@@lrn_news9171 there was plenty of room for 80's metal, glam, grunge, alternative and rap. but heavy metal albums like reach for the sky, empire, ceremony, lock up the wolves and no prayer for the dying and others were all just terrible albums. look how cocky steven is presenting the album. way cool jr would have been the worse song on out of the cellar
I think they got an idea of what was to come when Guns N' Roses released their first album 1 year prior. It was way different than anything else coming out of the Sunset Strip, including Ratt. It was definitely a signpost that the scene was about to morph into something different.
LOL @ 4:32 "As you know we have five albums now"... Warren gets confused and starts counting. I guess it's five with the EP and the new one at that time.

Warren de Martini looks soo cool
Way Cool Jr. you might say
Warren had some gorgeous hair lol
"It's almost the nineties..." Man, if they knew what was about to happen to metal.
Thanks to nirvana, pearl jam, jane's addiction, and all the other boring grunge fad

They have strict laws there lol

How do you know?
Thankfully I grew up in the 70s and 80s. Music all around was great. Today,God help these rap kids.
Agreed!
They were so young. And the drugs, alcohol and cigarettes hadn't turn them into 80 year-olds yet.
BBKlima stephen was like 34 here
More like 31 or 32. And yes that is young.
BBKlima im 30 and have long hair lol

They're so lit. I love it. Fuckin great band
Warren is so cute🥺
Isn’t he?? God I have such a crush on young Warren, he was SO cute back then. He’s my favorite 80s shredder
he always reminded me of a young Joe Perry at this stage
スティーブンがちゃんと菊池君を見て答えてるのがなにげに可愛いな(笑)大好きな番組でした。豪華だったよな。
Well that was bazaar I felt high just watching this!
Warren and Stephen are so stoned, I swear that at 4:51 Warren talks to the puppet :)

This is awesome! Robin Zander and Rick Nielsen stopped at this same bar and played The Flame for the bartender and the puppet lol
The new Wrogo for Wratt ?
Such an underrated band... first five albums are unbelievable. Mainstream stuff is absolute rubbish... awesome band RATT
In my opinion their best material was their first 3 albums, my personal favorite is Dancing undercover.
@@lrn_news9171 definitely love the first 3 best
Ratt n Roll
@@lrn_news9171 First 2. DU was a huge disappointment for me when I was 16. The mix was horrible for one.
Stephen has nice lips. 😊
I used have there album on tape.
Like your video like Ratt
That album is soooo awesome
Damn, Warren was such a babe
The Japanese people are some really great people.
Goodlooking talented men
warrens so baby
I remember those old cans that Coors light came in.

I Think Dokken did this Japanese Show with that Puppet? "Of Course back in the day....
Damn, I wanna see it and I can't find it :(
Warren looks like Randy Rhoads Lol
2:47 Get back to the Ratt EP? With Reach for the sky? Makes no sense.

Too bad robyn wasn't in this. it would of been more interesting !
Anyone know what nationality Pearcy is? Can't seem to find this anywhere.
From his auto-biography: "part German, part Irish, part who knows what. Pure mutt."
you mean ethnicity? His nationality is American 😂😂😂

Just for discussions sake he looks a little like Slash. Maybe he has some African or middle eastern heritage.
Apparently he has Mexican in him, He always looked a little Native American to me.
I am with Mike...
These guys were on top playing arenas around the world... Now they're playing parking lots
A natural progression
That's how much a bitch the music industry is
Stephen sounds a lot like blackie lawless un talk voice but singing is much different.
WTF? No beer for the puppet?
Which one?
No, man, he's under aged.
Nice pageboy hair. Lmao
Warren looks like he's only 19.
I’m pretty sure he would have been 28 in 1988, but I depends on when this interview was
Actually, he was 25 years old back in 1988.
Ah 80s tv
What the fuck
Ratt jumped the Shark = Way Cool Jr.

AND then their sound died beginning 1990.
Your career was done a year later when GRUNGE took over the planet
just slowed a bit never died. They never stopped and their catalog brings them in very nice checks every month

So Pearcy is what, middle eastern decent, mulato, what?
Who the f knows.

My guess is he is part Mexican. It’s possible because he was from San Diego and all, which is right on the border
