Other than being able to edit the shape of the letters, what is the difference between using the Word Art dialog box to get the fill to be a picture and the method that you are using? Since 2010 doesn't allow shapes with words to be merged.

I made manual shape for my front poster and want to make the shape with flag design but unfortunatly cannot select both and there is no option to redesign that flag to this shape similar to this tutorial.
