EDIT. Great News! Got info that the power usage is more around 10 watts for most Fry miners. The miners enter into stand-by mode a lot and therefore don't require as much. However, this depends/varies a bit on which device. But ultimately that should lower the electric cost by around 75% and basically end up only costing $0.025 per day.
Basically, it costs more than makes money.

The owner banned me on discord after refusing to answer my questions about shipments for a several weeks. I''m not even going to be able to get support for setting this thing up. The owner thinks it's acceptable to roast a customer in the discord, not meet his shipping deadlines, refuse to answer questions, and expects the customer to be content with the experience. Avoid this miner like a plague!

Yes just go to the site . I ordered a satellite miner early May. And i still have not received my miner and they are taking order for new miners before they sent me mine. And also have released the sale of liscence for setting it up on your home computer. Really dissapointed so far with this project. They should have focused on getting out batch 3 before doing anything else. And also i could be wrong but it seems like if you are an influencer with a youtube channel you will receive your miner asap. And it also seems like if you use a discount code you are low priority on the list to receive your miner. Really frustraited with whole process so far.
Actually I am just finding a software which runs on a computer and make money but it should be profitable and does not require you to have a gaming PC .The bandwidth mining by fry etc is profitable but they require you to buy a miner from them and I don't wanna invest a little investment is fine but not too much as i am a student.
If you get a BYOD license you can use your own hardware :)

That's because we use recycled devices as part of our initiative to reduce e-waste in the world. So some devices might feature older connectors :)
it doesn't require advanced hardware to run the miner, so they have no incentive to use expensive hardware

to call these "miners" is a little irritating for me, these are just normal and old mini desktop computers, its just the software that is required ^^ i went to the website and tried to download the software, u think i need a paid tier to do the decibel "miner" BYOD?
Miner is just a buzz word since the general public knows what a crypto miner does
To use your own devices you'll need a BYOD license :)

@@dogoshicatamoto269 Go to the menu up top and select "Shop" then choose Buy Fry BYOD License. The site is not organized well and I got the same signup you mentioned, clearly they need to proof read............million dollar operations are expected to do better. Including reading questions!!

I bought 5 fry satellite miner and should I also install software on 5 devices or not?
When you get the miner you need to install the software from the fry website under "miner resources". Install, connect to a new algorand wallet, and run the program.
However you don't need to buy any thing extra. Everything comes with the miner in terms of hardware and the software is free.

How is this miner ever supposed to give any reliable data that could be used by 3rd parties? I can place this miner in my bathroom which is almost completely isolated from any sound.. then how would that data ever be worth anything.
