      @@earthcallingfi yes! I did the program for 6 months. I’d say I give them credit for 70% of my mindset/mental recovery and motivation to get better, as well as finding a community that takes you seriously and relates to you. Physically however, what did the trick for me was changing my diet (my ibs is part of my strongest symptoms) to n animal based/carnivore diet. I only eat animal foods and a handful of fruits every day (not strict). I’m 3 weeks in and did low carb before that which already gave me some results.

    While recovering from CFS I tend to notice all the audio problems on these helpful RUclips channels. A lavalier mic would be great in a situation like this.

    Yes, and going through it when you are 1 of 2 of the primary caregivers for your mother with severe Alzheimer's, it's really hard. She has been getting violent, so is now in the hospital. I am absorbing this and now starting to take steps to take care of myself. I'm starting to feel a little hope now.

    Toby could you please elaborate more on baseline, I’ve watched free videos on the website but I still struggle to understand. If my threshold is 20 min, does it mean that I should only be active for 20 a day??? But that’s crazy and impossible. Please help me to understand more this baseline thing… should I restrict myself from doing things… but then I become too obsessed with whether I’m doing everything right

      I’m trying to recover from 20 years of CFS/POTS. I’m 45. I have 3 school age boys to care for all day. Plus my elderly father with advanced Parkinson’s. I know my limit is 30 minutes max up and about activity without starting to push my body with adrenaline. And that’s if I’m actively working to keep myself calm and moving slowly. I’m so tired of pushing and crashing so I’m going to set a timer on my watch for 30 minutes. Then go into rest mode for 30 or even 60 minutes. Laying down with no phoning. This may be a better strategy than going for 2 hours straight which means pushing for 1.5 hours. By that time, my whole nervous system is wound tight and tense; it takes more than 2 hours to calm my body down again. I’ve learned that a day of pushing *always* results in terrible sleep quality which keeps me stuck and my limbic system freaks after a night of terrible sleep. So I’m hoping that this new way of operating will allow all the mandatory things to get done while keeping my nervous system in the calm zone all day. Fortunately my kids are old enough to roll with this routine. We homeschool. The last 13 years of parenting with CFS has been a nightmare but I’m hoping I can find my way out soon. Being consistent and stabilizing my nervous system by sticking to a reasonable baseline. I think I can still get the 4-5 hrs of mandatory work done each day that has to be done, by breaking it up.

      I saved this video to my watch later folder and watch it in chunks. Really excellent info in here. Gold for understanding what’s going on and how to start digging out. I’ve struggled with cfs/pots for 20 years.

    I tried the Gupta program, with no success - is CFS Health considerably different in its approach?

    • @CFSHealth
      @CFSHealth  2 месяца назад +3

      Absolutely very different. This is a full comprehensive holistic approach covering every aspect of recovery. Not just one technique focused on brain retraining. We believe a holistic approach is needed in recovery with a body/brain focus. Not the other way around. Watch the above training to get a broad overview.

      I’ve had cfs/pots for 20 years. I’ve tried the Gupta program on and off for 6 years !! I could never find a way to make it work for me. There are many good points about the program. The brain retraining exercise seemed possibly effective. He had other sensible ideas and it did help me see and understand what was going on with my condition, finally !, after years of struggling, mystified, doing all the tests and doctors and that whole thing. Chasing symptoms and supplements. But i always felt like his approach just wasn’t workable for a mom with 3 little boys in her care all day. It was too complicated with “too much to do” in order to heal. The mandatory morning routine which included the brain retraining exercise was laughable for me with 3 little boys clamoring at my feet while I was dead tired from horrid sleep.
      I also tried the optimum health clinic but the STOP process was ineffective and near maddening for me.
      Toby’s is the first program I’ve found where he provides the most sensible and doable approach. It feels very grounded. So many informative videos on RUclips. But you can’t watch his videos or any CFS videos hoping to hear of a magic technique or strategy that will fix you in weeks. It’s going to look a little different with everyone and definitely customized to your own set of non-negotiable life demands. But the concepts of finding a baseline and sticking within it. Stabilizing with a routine and new habits. And staying consistent and patient are the key pieces. I’m finally learning to listen to my body, after years of flagrantly ignoring it. I’m not in his mentorship program. Just learning here and there through the videos. I might join if I need additional help beyond the videos and my own planning.
