    I listen to all of your podcasts that I can, Marie, and I appreciate you. That said, I listen to all of your podcasts through an app other than YT, and I came here today so I could leave a comment because you've got me all fired up with your remarks about the electoral college, lady!
    The electoral college isn't democratic, but then neither is the USA, really, considering we were founded as a republic. I didn't use to agree with the electoral college--especially when I was attending university. But I live in a rural area of my state, and all of our natural resources are located in this region; the way those resources are allocated and divided is decided by the millions of people living in the cities hundreds of miles away from my small town.
    Since the Industrial Revolution when people began migrating to cities in droves, rural Americans have increasingly become underrepresented in American politics--especially on the left side of the aisle. The country cannot exist without its rural brethren, many of whom are integral to the operation of our society, and that matters. We are a not a country of only city dwellers and due to the change in the ways in which Americans support themselves (becoming industrial rather than staying agrarian), more people live in cities now and have for generations, and, naturally their perspectives and values have taken a different shape than those belonging to rural Americans.
    In short, I believe we need the EC to represent rural America. I don't agree that it should be abolished whatsoever. Even if we get Trump.
    PS - I so wish I could manifest an in-person political conversation with you. The art of conversing about such topics is being rapidly lost, particularly when people disagree, and I also think it'd be fascinating to hear more of how you view politics given your views about humanity.

    • @lettersfromadirtbag
      @lettersfromadirtbag 2 месяца назад +1

      I did also want to add: if we remove the EC from our voting process by removing it from the constitution, we are opening the constitution up to other forms of change. No. That's dangerous and places much too much trust in the government.

    My grandmother died of a stroke unexpectedly. A year or so later, my aunt (her youngest daughter) had a ruptured brain aneurysm. She recovered, thankfully. I remember having a conversation with my grandmother a while later on the anniversary of her passing. I threw out the question "Why did you have to go?" and I got the clearest answer ever right back: "So Anne* didn't have to."
    Do loved ones go ahead for that sort of reason too? It felt like she'd chosen to take her place, in a way.
    Thank you for your videos - I've only found you recently but they've been very meaningful for me in many ways 🙏

    How fun is that, that when you asked your listener to help guide the spirit of her friend to the light, your video recording switched off to a pitch black, and we could hear only your voice - and then when you say "into the light" - the video reappeared!!! ❤❤❤

    Ha! I was waiting for a comment from you about the heat in NC. It’s Margaret, we had a session when I lived in Indiana, I since moved to NC because I was inspired to follow my joy after our session. NC weather overall is great,easy to be outside any day. Anyway, I’m so grateful for your RUclips channel 🙏❣️ I learn so much! I was 64 at the 2014phone session, 74 now, thinking about volunteering at a hospice. I keep learning things I’ve missed, and am diligently practicing keeping the energy up. I came to Seattle for a class in 2018, but it’s now that your tutorials are really clicking. Your teaching is so clear. You look great,btw.
    What a hoot it’d be to run into you in Raleigh 🤗

    Thank you so much for the awesome video! Have you heard of the Integratron? It’s a dome shaped structure out in the desert near Joshua Tree in California. It built on top of a vortex and the energy there is very powerful. But your idea of the future room where we can walk in an and revitalize our ATP sounds a lot like what the final plan for that structure was. It has a very interesting back story, the plans and inspiration were given to the creator of it from aliens 😬. Unfortunately it never got finished and now its used for sound baths, which is quite the cool experience since the acoustic in the building are amazing. And the sound bath from there is the best I ever had! You should look up! Its very interesting!

    Awesome! Yes, thank you for mentioning the Electoral College & the undemocratic way in which it influences the United States of America.
    The validity of the Electoral College is hardly ever spoken about in a public setting.
    We're definitely going to experience some interesting final months of 2024 😅

    If the Electoral College was eliminated, the power to elect the President would rest solely in the hands of a few of our largest states and cities, greatly diminishing the voice of smaller populated states.

      Yes, but the popular vote is democratic. The minority should not elect our president in my opinion.

    • @crytalcrytal
      @crytalcrytal 2 месяца назад +3

      The voice of the smaller states is represented in the House of Representatives & Senate. We the people should decide the President ✨️

      It should not matter where someone lives for our votes to be matter. Hillary Clinton won by over 3 million votes. That is a shame not democracy. Every vote should count! The constitution will be changed in my lifetime!

    • @mariemanuchehri
      @mariemanuchehri  2 месяца назад +3

      I think this fairness about states is something we were fed in early days of school and that is why we think its OK. The popular vote is what matters always.
