    I have a 2018 Golf TSI S. Nothing fancy but I love that car! Easy to maintain and the only issue I have is it’s a rock magnet. There’s a lot of trucks around my area and my windshield keeps catching rocks and pebbles.

      Epic Help I have one here are some of the problems I've encountered, door mirror glass falls out , Changed all 4 ignition coil packs, after 60 000 miles expect to change timing belt, alternator , throttle body , water pump, plastic handles to adjust seats break, interior mirror won't flip down, seatbelts won't retract but this can be fixed by cleaning. Other than that they are solid cars mine has done over 100 000 miles now it's still whisper quiet at 70 mph on the motorway 1.2 manual petrol . If serviced regulary at 10 000 miles these cars will last at least 200 k miles.

      It’s not the car. Lot of idiots buy GTI’s and go full out on cold engine. That sort of reckless ownership makes a lot of these cars a hit or miss 2nd hand. Goes for a lot of cars, but especially with these…

      Would you advice buying the manual 6 speed instead of DSG?

    • @stefan2796
      @stefan2796 10 месяцев назад +1

      @@84jordie As an overall advice: yes. The DSG6 seems more durable than the DSG7. And be more careful buying a car with DSG when mileage is above 100K (160K km). Then the double clutch may have to be replaced soon (if it wasn't replaced already). Above 200K km the mechatronic can start to show problems (crack in the casing, chip failure, etc.). Driving a manual gives full control of course. It's a different way of driving. The DSG is comfortable driving.

      @@stefan2796 I ask this cause there are 2 cars that I really like, both are Mk7 1.4 Tsi Golf, Manual has 160,000km on the clock, Automatic has 151,000km. Similar priced.
      Would the manual be the better option? The trim are the same, except the auto has the folding mirrors.

      By the by, I have a 2020 Golf mark 7.5 Comfortline. It is real zippy, very comfortable, status free and the fuel economy is superb. However, I detest the electronic handbrake and hilltop buttons with a vengeance. It's my second Golf and after seven years I still can't out work out all the permutations and instead find it unnecessarily complicated and in some situations extremely dangerous. What I'd give for a manual handbrake! I loathe the updated heating/Airconditioning system which was previously simple to use. The default engine cutoff is an absolute nuisance as is the notification warning that appears on the screen every time you start the engine and need to manually cancel in order to read the screen. Also, what is the point of the headlight automatic switch? Apparently the Mark 8 is even worse with controls on the screen. I was distracted the other day when a warning g beep went off because I was too close to another car - which I already knew - and the warning sound distracted me from my task of avoiding that car. Stupid.
      I wish I'd bought a Toyota Corolla hatchback instead. 🦘

    The content of this video is good but I'm afraid this guy does not speak English well enough to be making a video for an English speaking audience. He has some kind of speech impediment which is something I can't seem to get past. I really do mean this as constructive criticism.

He does not enunciate his words. My guess is that English is not his native language.
