My greatest joy is going to consignment shops and thrift stores and slowly building my furby army. Currently at four originals, a baby, and an original mcfurby.
I have a funny story about furbies. When I was about 8 years old, I was in a Fao Schwartz toy shop with my parents and saw that they had a furby. I desperately wanted one very badly. But my mom said they were too expensive. As a sneaky fucked up little child, I went and found a sales sticker of something thst costed less and stuck it on the furby, peeling the old one off. I showed my mom and said I thought it was on sale! (yes I was a bastard). Anyway. With my new black and white furby in hand I was overjoyed and felt like a genius. I was obsessed with this thing and kept it on my dresser when I went to sleep. I played with it obsessively, and as a result, the batteries began to wane. I sat it where I always did on my dresser and went to sleep. In the middle of the night it woke me up, rocking and making this weird, “aaaAAH, aaaAAAH” noise. But it sounded off, like too slow. It really really scared me. I laid awake in the dark until it finally stopped. The next day, my brother and I took the furby s batteries out. But even with its batteries out it still seemed to blink and rock. My mom got rid of it because I was getting very anxious around it. In my child brain, I believed that the furby was cursed because I had swapped the sales tag and got it for a lower price. I thought that it was revenge for my bad act. My personal furby curse. And now as an adult I have a furby and look back on that and laugh my ass off.
My furby once had no batteries and then I woke up at night and I just hear HELP MEEEE under my pillow and I look there and there is nothing and I looked under my bed and he’s staring into my soul
Great video!! Very good look at the Furby Franchise! A thing you forgot is that 1998 Furby Fakes (Furbish, Furdy, Foobie, etc.) were plentiful and the at Hasbro and Tiger Electronics took legal actions against them shredding 80.000 of them. Also I have a copy of the Furby Island game on my Nokia. It runs in Java.
I have been fixated on Furby’s for around 5 years. I’m glad you made this video, because there are not a lot of furby fact videos. Thank you! ( Extreme fixation on Furby for 5 years, but I have owned them since I was a child.)
1998 Furbies: Full of sunshine, personality, and inner happiness. 2005 Furbies: CRAWLING IN MY SKIIIIIN. 2012 Furbies: lifeless robotic versions of the original Furby, with lack of personality. In conclusion, in my opinion, original Furbies are still the best.
Yeah, 2013 is *NOT* old enough to be considered "nostalgic". There also isn't anything special about 2013 compared to y2k and 2011 felt like the last "true" nostalgic era and the last of "y2k". Today's teenagers are never really going know that 2012 to now are *not* nostalgic or interesting compared to the 2000s and 90s-50s. The phones from the 2000s are my favorite thing, but I prefer the 60s/50s and 80s/70s as there was better music then, compared to the shit released in the 2000s. Due to this, the "flip" and "t9 button" and "keyboard" phones are the *only* thing I actually like from the 2000s!
Love this overview of the furby I remember a ton of kids having them but as a kid I thought they were uncanny, to this day I think of them as pieces of nostalgia, good luck with your channel 👍
I too prefer the old and fan-made Furbies a lot more I am the proud parent of a long Furby called Herbert 2 original 1998 Furbies called Lucifer and Oil and I love them more than anything
What’s funny is that I adore Furbies - in theory. Like, the designs are adorable, their voices are funny, and they’re generally pretty cool toys. I like them in theory. But then I actually got one (a Furby Boom) and it won’t FUCKING SHUT UP. it just keeps yap yap yapping and screeching at me until my ears are sore. I get the idea of teaching kids how to take care of a pet, and I do love the older models, but why did they have to make the new version so goddamn annoying?
Because shit for kids these days has to be stupid, annoying, have "over the top" humor and dumbed down! Why didn't you get one of the older vintage furbys?
@@aussiefurbymogwaifan6621 yep, agreed! And I definitely should have got an older one. I love the Emototronic variants the most, but sadly they’re ridiculously expensive. They can be like $100 for a used one, depending on the colour.. that’s ridiculous!
This video really made me want a Furby but even if I had one I'd be scared as heck while sleeping I don't understand why they don't have an on/off button.
I asked for a Furby Boom for years and when I finally got one for Christmas a few years ago I was so annoyed with it for the first day that I popped his batteries out and left him in a drawer. I wish I knew where he was.
I'm autistic, and furbies have been one of my special interests since early childhood, when I had a 2012 furby and a furby boom. Now I have a 2012 furby (different to my childhood one), a furby connect and a furbling.
Correction: the "commercial" isnt the actual furby 2012 commercial but its only a demonstration video. Plz research further when you look up the commercial for this furby cause the actual one is more upbeat with music and stuff.
I just woke up from a nightmare about furbies so I'm looking for fuel to calm my mind. Also the next time I'm in a dream withone I will make it regret being in my nightmares
I grew up with the 2012 and so on furbys but I collect the older ones now. I still have them all they’re just personally not as interesting as the 1998 models. Also furby connect sucks, I loved the design but the whole feature where they connected to the app and listened to songs is discontinued so there’s nothing you can really do with it anymore, which is sad if I’m being honest
Same, I prefer the og 90s furbys too, I don’t like the 2012 ones that much because alot of things for kids these days, has stupid, annoying over the top humor and is goofy as well as dumbed down! Stuff in the 60s/90s was *NOT* like that! I have a connect, but I don't think I have the app anymore (never had it on my android phones, only on my Apple devices, as android dosen't seem to work to well with toys that have optional apps), but anyways, alot of the songs were shitty overplayed radio crap (although I didn't mind watching kids bop on RUclips during lunch time at school whenever we ate in the classroom, or unless that was "songs in real life" we might of been watching?)
I remember I had the baby pink (caramel syrup) 2005 Furby. But I threw away because it was running out batteries (and because I got scared by a certain prank call audio clip).
I really like the cute design of the Furby But... I really wish I could reprogram it to have the personality I like and voice, since all the Furby Connect are all male.
I have a furby connect. They never stop talking they make more fart jokes than a children’s movie and I’m pretty sure they are slowly are going insane. I like my little unstable creature though I’ve never hated fart jokes more now. I put them near my 2023 furby and then they also made a fart joke so I think my furby connect may be a bad influence
ok so for the furbies being birthed by human parents thing, i honestly think the human man fainting was just supposed to be silly while the two furbies were the parents (waters wet observation, i know) BUT i think its a much funnier narrative if the furbies were brought to the hospital as part of the familial/close friend entourage for a human woman giving birth and it comes out a furby cause a furby cucked the human man who fainted. the human woman and the furby man(?) BOTh cheated on their partners.
i've been looking for a video just like this to fuel my very niche hyperfixation, and here you are! love the video, keep up the great work!! :D
Aw, this made my day! Thank you so much for your sweet comment.

Yay someone else with Furby hyperfixations!!!

Nice! im getting an old 1998 furby soon
I love the 1998 furbies! I hope you find a great one. Thanks for your comment!
I love 2005 furbies. They're adorable, and I wish they didn't cost a functioning left kidney, because otherwise, I'd have one right now.
same 😿
My greatest joy is going to consignment shops and thrift stores and slowly building my furby army.

2005 Emoto-Tronic furbies are my favorite. I think they are actually the cutest!

Hahaha omg thats awesome. I wonder where your cursed furb is now. Also FAO Schwartz has money so screw em.
Lol. Poor thing probably had low batteries. It moved without the batteries because it has an energy store to keep all of the progress made.
Furbys have a secret battery thing so don’t worry if your furby still does a thing or 2 when the batteries are taken out
My furby once had no batteries and then I woke up at night and I just hear HELP MEEEE under my pillow and I look there and there is nothing and I looked under my bed and he’s staring into my soul

You can pull its tail for 10 seconds to make it sleep if it's a Furby Boom
