I see this channel going somewhere. REALLY interesting and unique to get to see things from this side of the process. This is something normal customers never get to see/experience.
I've been following this guy doing basic and routine Porsche maintenance on the various models.Forget about "this is how it's done"...This is how it's done when a mechanic knows the importance of being thorough in the servicing of these new cars..Specifically Porsche...Well done..!
Extraordinary that anyone should downvote this. It’s great to see behind-the-scenes what goes on. Wish they were all as open and thoughtful as you! I’d love you to service my car.
Great video. Fun to see. What's the "Remove transport protection" in the Vehicle Handover section of PQIS, seen at 6:44? Are electronic rev and speed limiters placed on the cars for protection during transport?
AutoPilot yes all modules are in a transport mode until a handover is performed with the scan tool. Speed limiters are also active until until a handover is performed. Thanks for watching.
Glad I found your site, this is the exact type of service/mechanical POV I've been looking for. Great mix of products within a premium line, lots of different things covered and strong production value. I love the attention to detail and care you take on these cars. Great job, can't wait to go through the rest of your videos!
Love your videos... A great behind the scenes look at what should go on. My father was a truck "mechanic" for 40 years at HUB truck. Very talented and hard working individual who took pride in his work. So much so that the owner of the company only let my father work on his personal vehicles. I think you have a lot of those qualities. Keep the videos coming.
The mechanic forgot to set the torque wrench back to its lowest setting. Not doing this will cause the torque settings to become inaccurate, so the next time it's used, the settings could be off. Unless it's a beam torque wrench. It appeared to be a click type wrench he used. If so, the wrench will have to be sent out for recalibration.
Excellent job... just curious.... what does Porsche pay labor wise on this particular vehicle for a PDI? I work in fixed ops for a few other manufacturers, but was curious on a niche car like this what it paid. Thanks!
Cool video as usual. That’s quite a lot of stuff for a PDI. Whats the flat rate time pay? Also, maybe you could make a quick toolbox tour? I’m a tool addict and I’d like to see what it takes to work on those cars.
A mistake happens by checking the Center Lock Torque, the Tires must be contact with the bottom cause if the one brakes not enough in the car the checker could damage the brake pads by spinning the wheels & Disc (edges of the brake pads could be break and make hifrequenty noises) and the checker can be insured if it goes worse cause the weight of the car is not on safety heavy on ground....
@@TheWolf133 you must only torque thr Center locks with the wheels fully in the air. A second person must press on the the brakes and hold the steering wheel. He did it the correct way .
When setting the tire pressures you unscrewed the valve stem allowing air to escape, applied air, closed valve stem then screwed valve stem cap. What is the purpose of unscrewing the valve stem, as opposed to just applying air as is? Is this GT3RS specific??
The tires are way over filled for shipping/transport. He’s removing the valve stem cores to lower the pressure quickly. And no Porsche does not recommend nitrogen for street cars. Just good old air from the factory.
Hello My 2017 macan base model has low pressire engine oil leak. I noticed engine oil on my driveway at around 30k milies June/2019. Took it to dealer twice since then but they blaim it on oil change that whoever did last oil change spilled some oil. They did powder coat underneath of engine. And it was drenched with dirty oil.But when I took it back to dealer second time, they blamed on oil change again.i think they are not happy I didn't change oil at dealer. I can tell oil leak is significant. Now and definitely coming from gasket( timing belt , cam seal. who knows) . I also know it is not leaking from oil pan. I want to fix the leak while I am still under warranty. But this service adviser keep saying it is not leaking and refuse to work on it. Any advise? Please help any help will be appreciated.
Sorry to hear that. Have you tried another dealer for a second opinion? I've seen upper timing cover oil leaks, High pressure fuel pump oil leaks, Valve cover oil leaks, etc on that engine. so its hard to say what may be going on with yours. You could also call 1-800-PORSCHE to see what they can do for you. Good luck.
Should gently heat the interface between in the protective tape and the paint before pealing protection off. Please tighten all the screws by hand, not using a driver.
Hey, i love your videos. Are you able to tell what the diagnostic charges are at Loeber? I have a Cayenne S 958 and it jerks a little bit when accelerating at lower gears. Any guesses what could be the reasons? Could bad spark plugs cause such?
Hey man, I really love your videos! I also really want to become a mechanic to learn how to service and maintain cars, what are some tips you would recommend for someone like me who for now just wants the “direction to the keys” in order to become not only a successful mechanic but a way to get a position in a prestigious automotive company ( I know it won’t happen in one year or two years, these things take 5+ years, I just wanted your $0.02 on how you made it and what information you would pass on to others who want to do the same) Thank you!!!!:)
Jon Doe thanks man, well I started out at an independent shop and worked there through high school and while I went to UTI for automotive, diesel, and industrial classes. After that I was accepted into Porsche’s apprenticeship program in Atlanta for 6 months. After that I got hired at my current dealer. Been here 6 years now. Recently became shop foreman. From the very beginning of my professional career I set out to be the best. So learn all you can, Apply what you learn, and never stop learning. If you focus on constant improvement, you’ll be fine. Good luck 👍🏻

I thought Audi has great under carriage protection; this show the dedication to detail the German manufacturer takes into consideration to the aerodynamics and design. Does the torque stick used come with the vehicle?
I like that you are very gentle when working on the cars. It shows respect towards them - and in the end the owner. Great job!
not so fast... he didn't show the test drive ;)

It’s a split beam torque wrench. No need to turn it down. You’re thinking of a micrometer torque wrench. Thanks for watching.
Never install the front spoiler before the test drive. People have made that mistake at my dealership plenty of times
Alioli Ravioli a good precaution but we haven’t had any issues. Thanks for watching

Tool87 not every car is as involved. GT cars pay 4 hours and every other pays 3. I’ve been thinking about doing a tool box tour, keep an eye out.

Is one always supposed to install the NACA duct seals after the frunk cover is installed?

To remove normal air pressure and refill with hydrogen pressure
