I came for a reaction. I left with the knowledge of civil engineering and structural studies on my mind. Thanks.

the secret of modern architecture is they all really just wanted to be skateboarders but their parents made them go study so they made buildings that could double as skate parks XD

Gotta say, seagulls aren't the rats of the sky, they're more like racoons that fly, the true flying rat is the pigeons, they are everywhere, like rats, unlike racoons, they are very specific on where they live.

    • @TheChillzoneX
      @TheChillzoneX  2 года назад +12

I stand corrected. Pigeons truly are the worst

No racoons in Europe though so hard for us to make the comparison. Plus in a country like Denmark where nowhere is far from the sea, seagulls are literally everywhere.

as an offside, thank you for not skipping the ad. IH has some of the best ads in his videos. : )
I know little about Architecture save for what I made in minecraft and DQ builders 2 lol.
Although I am one of those "commenters" that brings up the whole Egyptians didn't have slaves bit.
It is semi-true, a small portion of the population were slaves but only either criminals or those in massive debt. Everyone else was paid.

For you’re end of video question: As someone who lives in close proximity to Seattle, a lot of my favorite buildings happen to be there. My highlights (based on my personal taste of course) would be the Space Needle, Rainier Tower, and Rainier Square.

The middle of Australia is actually below sea level, there actually used to be a sea in the middle of Australia. It's technically possible

I have a strange fondness for some of the old fortresses that were scattered about during the colonial days of North America. I especially like the Castillo de San Marcos in St. Augustine, Florida. It is the oldest fortress still standing in the United States, predating the foundation of our nation by about 80 years! It's primarily made from sea shell deposits, called coquina. Because of its composition, it made an excellent material for defense from naval bombardment, as the cannon rounds would only deform and squish the walls rather than crack or shatter against other materials.

i usually dont listen to a lot of creators intros to a video because I want to skip and get right into the content. but I found a lot of what you had to say interesting and worth listening to having a better understanding of what goes into a building made me appreciate them more. :)

For me, architects are just artists. They get all the notoriety for making something "avant-garde" and whatnot while the engineers have to somehow make something that came out of a Dali painting stand and be up to norms

buildings are nice square simple structures. as a janky construction worker I can appreciate simple easy to build houses. no swoopy lines that take forever to cut the materials for, just straight lines

the most what the actuall F is this building i've ever visited is the chateau de chambord in the loire vally in france.. It's a mansion designed by Da Vinci, but a picture does not show how big it actually is.. if you really want to see the size, look up the roof of it an come to the conclusion that most of the 282 chimneys are so big that they are about 3-6 stories tall and look like castle towers.. STANDING ON THE ROOF LOOKS LIKE YOU ARE IN A CASTLE COURTYARD BECAUSE THE DAYM CHIMNEYS ARE THAT HUGE!
    so yes that..
(also for the big windows in the lower floors, the lower 3rd are taller then the average person and the park grounds around the mansion are as large as the city center of PARIS)

You can build a bat roost by your house if you dislike your neighbors in the US. Bats are a protected species and HOA can't do anything about that. I dont think the same applies to making a bird feeder unless there's a protected species that uses it

The Ancient Egyptian's had slavery but it wasn't to build stuff as they were the most advanced building civilisation at the time making monument's to the god that later were used as crypts by kings, the Hieroglyphs are speculated to be akin to modern day graffiti, also it's not hard to pour liquid sandstone into a mould then let it harden to make the bricks instead of making the brick by carving already existing sandstone miles away.
