- Today is the day! We are excited to share the official music video for our brand-new track, THE KICK! You’ll notice a couple of new faces in the band. Please meet the incredibly talented new members of Diamond Rio, Carson McKee (fiddle & background vocals) and Micah Schweinsberg (drums). THE KICK was produced by none other than our very own Jimmy O and directed by new member Micah Schweinsberg. We’ve been known to have some pretty out of the box videos and not take ourselves too seriously. I think you’ll see that reflected in this video as well. Thanks for watching!

I too was confused why there were new members. After much digging I finally found that two had retired 2022. Very sad since they were all original for so long. However I am happy to see such young new talent! Wow what a fiddle. This band is wonderful and they give the best concert. They care about their fans and their music is wonderful.

Love this, glad to see Dana still playing. Though I don't know him personally, our moms volunteered together at a local hospitial and my mom was like do you know this band, my friends son plays in it. Had to laugh and tell her yes, they're both very good and very famous at the time way back when.

Looked like a good time was had all around! I don't play instruments but I have a couple of songs. I wish I had more time to write but when I do right it comes from inspiration. The first song is called "Never Alone" and was very God inspired. The second is called "Like They Said" and is workplace inspired from people gossiping about a male and female so I put a twist to it. If you're interested let me know. I originally wanted to record them and may some day for fun but I'm a struggling husband and dad of 3 that is having a hard time in life and you already have the platform. I can send a Cappellas of them if you want. I also have a song that is my Mother's that she wrote many years ago, probably early 90s, that I think is a beautiful song called "Like A Star".

As someone who wore his cassette tape thin listening to The Ballad of Conley and Billy, I've always appreciated how great the sawin' and pickin' is by this band... there's bands I listen to for their style of music, but I listen to Diamond Rio to listen to master musicians. Looks like you've found some good additions to that tradition (and, holy shit, I think I just made a song title)
Particularly enjoyed the lyrics. Seriously, nice jam. Not the same without Gene in particular, but Carson (women with mens names seem to be a popular thing these days) was very good. The fiddle adds a different perspective.

Wow! That’s some pickin n fiddlin. Kinda Devil’s In Georgia, built on a foundation of classic musical training. Awesome to see new members added, music evolving, while maintaining your award winning style . Y’all are great. Hope to see you at Bluebird at Sundance one of these nights (I think they provide remarkable accommodations at Sundance, while you’re there). Great music, with a great story to tell.

Diamond Rio, I was going to say that the guys I listened to on the radio were talking about that song. But they didn't really mention that there were no words to this song. Guys, How come there are no words to this brand new song ? I don't get it. Marty, I used to hear your voice on lead vocals on EVERY Diamond Rio song. But what happened? I’m not sure I’m used to the fiddle yet but it does sound really good. I’ve been listening to Diamond Rio ever since 1991
I always thought it was so interesting they never used fiddle in their songs but still sounded so country without it! Jimmy's guitar licks made up for it 😊

Glad to see this band making music. They got stereotyped for being 90s pop like country, but they are great musicians and can sing like mofos. Miss Gene but good to see new blood. And Jimmy O is really unmatched on the tele.

Y'all sound great as always! This instrumental ranks right up there with the other great instrumentals on previous albums. It could've easily been the extended version of Two Pump Texaco. Looking forward to hearing more.

@@DiamondRioTV I wish Gene the best retirement God can provide. I will miss seeing him on stage though. Some of my best memories are of DR concerts. Especially at the Palace Theater in Louisville , KY 1994 ish ? Love a little stronger tour.
And Carson does a lot more than Fiddle, Loved their show in Arlington. As Marty said, If you are going to play in Texas, you gotta have a fiddle in the band. Thanks Guys!!!!
I'm pretty sure they never had fiddle in their songs until now. Gene was just mandolin/vocals. They still sounded so country even without fiddle all these years. My favorite country band of all time!!!

I love diamond rio but this 100% disappoints me. Not one word was sung in the entire video. To me it’s just music, not a song.
