  • "Play stupid games, win stupid prizes" is most likely going to be the top comment in today's video, but hey! That's what having fun is all about sometimes(but only somtimes)! In this video, Mitch walks through the frame carnage that has surfaced after a couple years of off-road abuse. It was not a pretty site, and no, I'm not referring to Mitch's welds although those could use some work too. Comment below what you think of the fix!

    • @deeremeyer1749

      Those are not "cracks". Those are BREAKS. There is no way to "weld all this back together" and your vehicle will already get a salvage title at its next "safety inspection".

    Purchased a 2023 Badlands a few months ago. With the weak steering rack, Tie rods that break under load and now control arm welds all being weak links. I get more disappointed with my purchase every day.

    • @D3thM3tal
      @D3thM3tal 6 месяцев назад

      Drive it, enjoy it. You're seeing the top few percentage of people relentlessly beating on these that are having problems. The arms aren't stock, the suspension isn't stock, the tire size isn't stock. The "single shear" nature of those brackets are a problem that a few are running into. I'll have to look over our 21' as I've beaten on it a little here and there, but I don't expect to find anything on a stock 4dr badlands sasquatch.

      Most people won’t take their rigs to the limits that Mitch does. These Broncos are still capable rigs when left stock, but some people find the fun in building them up then tearing back into them…like Mitch😂😂

    I'm not an Engineer, but it doesn't seem like these were built to take much punishment. I think Ford doesn't expect people to use them the way they are intended. I have an older Land Cruiser and they seem to hold up a lot better than these.

    Is their anyway , to make a cross bar to support the brackets, and that way you tie the two brackets to gather. The way ford designed them, it seems their will be a twisting force on the welds all the time.

    • @wildhorses4x4
      @wildhorses4x4  6 месяцев назад

      They are semi attached to the stock cross member. The big issue to figure out would be the passenger side and creating clearance for the gas tank.

    I was born with a blue oval on my ass. Broncos are cool…. I get it. But seriously? Are you secretly on Craigslist looking for a Jeep with a solid front axle yet? I just don’t get Ford…… it’s like building a Raptor with a V6 and then downloading a V8 soundtrack.🤔 Ok so now Ford is gonna build a Jeep killer….so let’s throw IFS under the front end so the wife doesn’t complain when she drives it to daycare. And let’s throw some 37’s under it! 🙀 Oh! It’s eating the front end!
    Now, I love your channel! I love your dedication! My critiques are not pointed at you. And NO it’s not you! You’re not an idiot. Yes. Shit is gonna break on the trail. But you’re trying to take a grocery getter that has cool badging on trails it’s just NOT designed for. Can you get it there with lots of blood, sweat and tears? Thats what I am looking at right now. It’s an open ended question. So sorry.
    My son owns a fab shop and went to school for engineering. If you have some questions. Get ahold of me and I will get you his info.

    • @Garrison-S
      @Garrison-S 6 месяцев назад

      It has nothing to do with ford or jeep it comes down to quality these newer cars are made cheap and sold expensive you lean against one and you dent them nothing is made to last anymore the quicker it breaks the quicker your average joe buys a new one more money for the manufacturer

    • @mountainadventures7346
      @mountainadventures7346 6 месяцев назад +1

      @@Garrison-S I disagree. Ford has had marketing issues for 70 years! Your Thunderbird is outselling Corvette 2:1 in 1957 so let’s turn it into a 4 door grocery getter in 1958. 🤔 I have respect for Jeep or whoever who stays TRUE to its fan base. If you want something that rides nice? Don’t buy our product! Don’t even get me started about Mustang 2’s, etc. This has been a long time Ford problem despite whatever quality or lack thereof Detroit is pumping out. Is it that hard to reintroduce the Bronco with a solid front axle and a V8!? Give people what they really want? Bean counters say…NO. We will sell more Broncos with IFS and whatever ecobust engine we can throw in there. A Chevy LS motor is a V8. FORD INVENTION. It’s a Y block. FORD INVENTION. You can bolt LS heads directly onto a 351 Windsor block and make power….. So WHY isn’t FORD building the LS motor!? It’s like the most popular retro crate motor in existence! NOPE. Let’s build a ecoboost V6 in which the cam phasers go out every 20k. It’s STUPID. Ford runs around like a chicken with its head cut off chasing whatever whiz bang latest gadget that has the widest public appeal. And then drops it on its head 4 years later. Instead of saying we are gonna build the most badass X, Y or Z product for the next century! I have owned more Fords than any other vehicle in my life by a long ways. And I am down to just one. A 1978 Ford F250 that was my fathers. And I wish it was a Chevy in 2023 because then I could buy cheap readily available parts for it. Instead of trying to explain to the parts guy which 351 I have.. a Windsor, Cleveland or modified.🤨

    At work we have several Ford transit vans. They are disposable garbage. Light gauge stamped steel suspension, weak transmissions, crappy brake calipers that constantly wear brake pads uneven, power steering racks that leak and pumps that cannot keep up with the demand. There's more, but why bother? Cheap construction and horrible engineering make these a giant money pit.
    Have not seen the Ram or Chevy counterparts. Maybe every automaker these days is producing cheap garbage?
