Today I wanted to cover everything on CIG's plan for armor specialization that will add roles and skill progression to armor by focusing on providing an MMO experience where gear will add stats and bonuses to certain categories for your character instead of the traditional leveling method. What are your thoughts? Do you look forward to this? Or is it a bit too far out for you to consider? Let me know in the comments!
I like the idea of specialized armors if you want to fit into a more specific "job", although I also like that your not locked out of any content and can wear any armor for any level of a job, only that specialization will help you in a specific field. Me personally? I like the idea of roleplay a stealth fem fatal, using the stealth armor to assassinate one target while wooing another, dress in fine dresses and attire. I like the idea of having specialized armor for outside of combat (one can argue the racer armor is already a non-combat focused armor set since its geared for racing, not combat), but I imagine we will see more about non-combat focused specialized armor when the gameplay surrounding them becomes more defined (exploration for example). I can imagine, for example, cargo hauling armor being designed to handle different hazards like radioactivity, heat and cold better then most armor (due to the high risk of unique and dangerous cargo) and maybe even built in exoskeleton (something like asylum) where you don't need a multi tool to lift up maybe 1-4 SCU crates, allowing you to skip most stuff you'd need a multi tool for. For downside, no EVA and its heavy, so slow and has high EMF signiture.
@@Hav0k indeed since we've seen the armor stats in the dress to kill panel, but glad you liked the armor idea :) I imagine specialized mining armor might have better resistance to explosions (in case of accidental overload of rocks) and has a visor that gives your fps scanner the ability to scan rocks and asteroids without requiring a multitool. For bigger asteroids (ones the orion can crack), it will still need the ship scanners, but maybe the armor can give additional data points on the asteroid. Probably be medium armor like the arid armor (I forget how to spell it), but as a downside, has slugish EVA and high EMF readings since, like the tracker armor, its running additional scanning systems so its not really designed to be sneaky.
I've always thought there should be a specialised pilot flight suite that lets you get away with pulling a few more g's before blacking out. Make it expensive and the benefit marginal (say 5 to 10% more g tolerance) so that it's not an 'I always win' item but something that might make the difference in a really tight situation.
Great video. I think you touched on something you could give more attention to in the future. Armor crafting. I do remember seeing or reading about anti radiation armor from harvesting the Whipcrab which will be on one of Pyros moons or planets.

It would be cool if Armor took damage like ships as well as decals or tattoos indicating Guild or Faction. But inventory management NEEDs to be improved like search or sort by armor mfg.
If they dont give those sick uniforms that are from SQ42 (ideally with our org patches on the side instead of a UEE patch) and it doesn't give +5 charisma when larping, Im going to close my account and call it a scam.

They could look at foxholes gearloadout. Medic can carry more bandages, soldiers more ammo etc. Buffs to healing etc would be cool to

It would absolutely be incredible to have a lot of the gear have bonuses and stats like that.

The tracking armor would be great. It'll equalize the current situation where hostile npc see to always see you even when behind walls and bushes.
Yeah it would be nice to see emissions and stealth actually be a real thing in ships and out

@ yeah man. I’ve been around since Kickstarter 2012. I knew pretty early on that crafting and bases were coming. Just very slowly.

Yeah that will definitely be nice to have controller support. They have them for some of the main controls like the NXT evos but they need to add more
