    • @mystomachhurts4826
      @mystomachhurts4826 4 года назад

      Did you even fucking read it or are you stupid? Being obese and being fat are two different things. Being fat means that you have extra at on your body than the average person, being obese means that you are unhealthy and as a result of that you have gained an unhealthy amount of fat. Your partially right obesity is one the leading causes of death but that's not what the body positive movement is about, it is about loving yourself even if your body is different and that doesn't just include being fat it includes all types of bodies. The body-positive movement does not say its okay to be OBESE it says to love your self no matter what your body looks like and that does not mean love yourself even if you start to have health problems. I know you think you know what you're talking about but if you actually did research than you would understand what its actually about.

    Nah, there’s a difference between being mean and speaking to someone adamantly about their horrible upkeep of their body. “Stay in your lane” is probably the worst phrase that someone can use nowadays, because people do exactly that. They don’t involve themselves in the lives of other people and without outside perspectives no one can better themselves. You don’t know this guys story maybe he lost someone to obesity, maybe he’s a personal trainer and is constantly seeing his clients suffer because of the lack of care and respect they have for their bodies. Don’t go saying stay in your lane or only involve yourself in their life if you do so in a certain way. Some people need tough love, somebody don’t but some do and in a day and age where everyone is concerned about being politically correct and cautious about offending someone we need a guy like that one who was getting all upset in order to spread a very serious message. Now sometimes people suffer from endocrine issues like Thyroid problems but most of the time that isn’t the case and people need to hear it straight up.

This is why some people who loose all the weight can become obese again, they have a real addiction. Obsese people need both medical and psychological help to help with their addiction. Your body is capable of amazing things. I think learning to respect and appreciate your body is far more important than focusing on numbers, and when you truly appreciate your body, you'll begin to do things to fuel your body and seek out it's potential. I've lost 55 lbs since December 2019 (March 2021 now), and it was because I wanted to see what my body was capable of. I ran a few half marathons. My vertical increased and hit harder playing volleyball. I slept better. My body felt fueled and nourished.
    Do I love my body? Yes.
    Is it because I weigh less? No
    It's because I chose to treat it well and give it a chance to show me what it can do. If you're feeding yourself crap, drinking alcohol, smoking, or lacking a good sleeping schedule, you're not even giving your body the respect it deserves. If you're happy with the body you have now, think about how much happier you'll be when you truly fuel your body to perform at its peak.

Why to be harsh about it? because other people will just ignore you no matter how nice you try to be, and need a wake up call before it's too late, you say it's their business and he shouldn't get that mad about it but if you DO care about others, you ARE going to try to make your point across no matter what

    I liked the German ad, why limit yourself. For the sensitive types i wonder if it would of still been offence if they had a side by side screen with the opposite being an anorexic person. Take the positivity out of it.
    I eat healthy over 80% of the time, i have put on a stone. I wondered why? I am less active my time is spent cooking, cleaning, children activites, homework, childrens day out. I am not fat but the extra weight a stone has had its effect i.e climbing a hill that I have been climbing since I was 5 iam breathless once I reach the top.
    I can not imagine what an obese or morbidly obese individuals go through.
    Flip that I am burning that extra stone.

    As an overweight person myself, I agree with pretty much everything the guy at the end said. I have made bad decisions which led me to this point (I'm not making excuses it's just the truth), and I have become aware overtime of everything that guy said on my own. I have lost 20 lbs in almost 3 months from eating right and exercising, so it is possible for you or anyone to lose weight. I'm not trying to be shady but everyone who says "I'm healthy I'll be alright even tho I'm fat" is not right. For my height I'm not even 100 lbs overweight but I feel the difference from when I was skinny and now. So no, you will probably die early and possibly have a lot of health problems if you don't get that weight off.

    I understand the intro, but a lot of people are always associating “fat” with just eating unhealthy, not being active etc. That’s not always a factor. I exercise, I have to diet constantly and I still can only maintain a certain weight. I’ve never been smaller than a size 16(uk) 12/14(us) and I constantly get bullied/harassed for my weight without people realising that shoving food in your face is not always the cause. My mum has always monitored what I eat and given me a balanced diet.

    As someone with lots of knowledge about mental health and a mental health advocate this is why I don't think it's constructive to bully, harass, and put down people who are overweight but appear to have or claim to have self-love. Being healthy is not just about your outer appearance or about your inner mechanics but also about your mental health.
    I could argue that someone could physically look good on the outside and have a very good inner mechanics but they are still not healthy if their mental health is greatly suffering. Now we all were privileged or not privilege to grow up around people who either showed us good or negative coping skills. we all have coping skills but some of them are negative and the other ones are positive. Emotional eating would be considered mostly a negative coping skill. I think it would be fair to say that many people, not all, who have eating disorders have emotional eating coping skills. this means that whenever they are trying to cope this is how they choose to often cope with something that greatly bothers them. So coming at someone who does not have very good or very little positive coping skills is not going to motivate them to do better. if anything it will push them further into depression and relying on these negative coping skills. If someone is having weight issues bullying, harassing, and putting them down is not constructive at all because what they really need is positive coping skills. if you have a loved one that you are truly concerned about show them compassion and offer to be their support system. Let them know that you still love them but If they choose to want to go on the path to better themselves that you will be there for them in whatever way you are able to. See another thing that we should all recognize about psychology is when you attack someone people tend to shut down mentally and not listen to your message. so even if everything you are saying is true by all accounts that person is not going to actually hear you because they're going to shut down mentally. So if anyone reads this I hope you can see why being aggressive to someone is not going to get your point across and help someone have healthier habits.

My sister has an eating disorder and it has to do with abusive father who used to beat our mother regularly, but that is still not an excuse for unhealthy lifestyle and she is working hard to get healthier, she has lost a lot of weight in last 1 year and has not touched any fast food as far as I know, she goes to the gym regularly and is on a path to healthy lifestyle where she and everyone around her finds her more attractive and healthy!

    It's easy to sum it up. Support fat awareness (health awareness), not fat support (encouraging fatness), and not fat shame (bullying). Support efforts to reach a healthier body. The harshness and prejudice drives the majority of fat people to eat more, not less. It's how they tend to cope, why would you induce more need to cope?

    I just have a few questions. If it’s all about health why is no one yelling and belittling people who are anorexic or bulimic, which is just as unhealthy as being obese? If you can recognize that anorexia or bulimia is a mental health issue, and yelling at them to just shut up and eat and will not fix anything why can’t y’all extend the same grace to people who are obese? Why is it ok to “coddle” people who are anorexic/bulimic but shit on people who are obese?

No. The moment you lose too much weight a doctor weighs you and asks you if you are doing it on purpose, now with obese and fat people starting this shameful campaign most doctors are afraid to ask even if that can bring some health risks for themselves. I dont know where you live, but everywhere around me very skinny people are pointed at in the streets, random people go to them to tell them to eat and not starve themselves ...dafuq

  • @chewie8910

    I cringe every time you go off on people being angry. Being angry isn't always a bad thing, it can mean you're passionate and honest. You look at people being angry and you say: "Damn why you being so angry, triggered, and emotional?". I look at someone being angry and say:"If you're angry about this, you're a loser. If you're angry about THAT, I can understand and respect that".
    I'm all for "your life, your choice", as long as you're not hurting anybody. But I'm also free to speak out against bad behavior. Some people get fired up about things they don't agree with and they feel the need to speak out against it. It all depends on the reason, and their intentions. You can lose or gain respect from me based on that. I don't see any problem with it. Not to mention these fat positivity chicks ARE hurting the younger generation and anyone who listens to them.
    Some people (especially guys) sometimes need to hear someone angrily pointing them at their incompetence, because we understand that's an honest opinion, so we try to change afterwards. I'm guessing you've never experienced something like that, so you don't see the value in it.

  • @aryannasavage9759
    @aryannasavage9759 5 лет назад +17

    I think it's mixed. Some people are big, because that's how they want to be, as they want to live their lives that way. For others, it really isn't an indicator of health, as a skinnier/petite person can be just as, if not more unhealthy than someone who is bigger. Genetics do play a big role, as well as, certain issues.
    Look at those who have PCOS, a lot of people who have it, struggle to lose weight. It affects our health, as a whole. Weight, fertility, cancer...
    I think it is a matter of understanding why someone is the way they are. You can be big and healthy/active.
    Also, that one guy, that seemed mad. He ain't wrong, there are people who literally just don't care, they sit around and do nothing and that's what's wrong. There are enough overweight/obese people who are active and go running, do pilates... however, a large cause to why people struggle to lose weight is because, they are not eating enough. Eating too little, causes the metabolism to slow down, making the body hold on to that fat

    Everybody needs to face the truth. I am 250 lbs. I did this to myself. My choices in food and not exercising led to this. Mental disorders only aside. But for many of these so called disorders it is still your choice or your excuse for some to not take care of yourself. But you have to want to be healthy, many just want it without the time and effort. There is no such thing as a diet that does not combine exercise to be successful. Sitting on your ass and doing nothing will not give you a good-looking body. I don't want to exercise, so I know I will be fat. But I will not praise it, I will not celebrate it. My breathing problems and leg pains are my reward. My sleeping all the the time , complete lack of energy. High cholesterol. Are all my doing.

Telling someone its ok to have no regard for their health simply so they can have a moments satisfaction instead of pushing them to better themselves and their overall health is evil. Its like helping someone commit slow suicide while telling them its ok that they are slowly dying and to keep going.

I know that i’m pretty thin so people assume i am healthy but tbh my eating habits aren’t that great and i don’t go to the gym but my metabolism is fast, i’d probably die before someone bigger if it has to do with “health”
