This was such an underrated baseball game. Still one of my favorites.
Major nostalgia trip. I used to play multiplayer over dial up all the time with friends and loved printing the game stats after the game.

This was the first game to ever make use of SVGA graphics, next was Warcraft II Tides of Darkness.

It 100% wasn't the first, and even not one of the first ones. Kesmai AIr Warrior is the oldest SVGA title that i know, and it was 1992. SVGA Harrier Assault was another early SVGA game (1993). And HB4 was released in 1994

For me, the best in the series. 99 was good, 5 excellent and with the MLB licenses, but to me, 4 is outstanding!!!
This was right at the time a lot of games were using FMV, or basically making games with real people. If you couldn't tell, that's what they did here. That's the reason for the generic baseball attire. Because they used real people, it would have looked wayyy too out of place trying to paste on all the baseball team names and logos on the shirts. They used the same technology in Hardball 5 (still own the original CD) but Hardball 6 used all computer graphics.
Why the SS is a LH?
Looks like they all are when throwing at certain angles. Seems they only captured a person throwing from one side and just mirrored it for the other angles in the game. So while they all wear the glove on their left hand while in a ready position, when throwing from left to right field, they throw with their left hand. Really weird to see.
