we had a gym teacher who was basically a student with keys and a whistle and when we played hockey he totally forgot he was teacher, slashed me across the ankles one time so i pushed him into the wall and instead of giving me shit he just said “easy smitty, can’t take a slash?”

My sophomore year of high school I was blessed with the perfect class. Floor hockey every day for a quarter, super competitive. I played goalie 50% of the time and only let in 3 goals the entire quarter. Im more of defenseman myself (even though I got a pretty wicked wrister) but as the most hockey obsessed in the room I was channeling Martin Brodeur through my soul when it came time.
My favourite part of this is that one kid that’s never played hockey goes god mode out of the blue at that point it’s more fun to pass it to him let him have his glory
I remember my high school teacher handing out safety glasses. He looks at me, "Yeah you've got glasses on you're good." Never broke a pair playing, broke'em sitting on'em in the change room 😂
I’m a hockey kid and I just moved from New Jersey to Georgia. About a week ago we played hockey during PE, and since no one plays down here, I scored 32 goals in the first 15 minutes and had to be benched due to the fact that I kept scoring….
I remember we used to play floor hockey in my old boy scout unit. I had a decent wrister at that time, but never got into organized hockey. I played more baseball, but I wanna play organized hockey at some point.
Every kid had blue shins and wet eyes after playing floor hockey against me and my boys. My intramural team went undefeated, even beat the seniors. Think of it, 8 AAA U16 players given 45 minutes to show off in front of the school. Good times

We had Ball Hockey as an actual sport. I was the goon, Any foofy hockey players who stick handeled got bent. Suspended for the year after game 3 was worth it. Team knew how to set the tone wasted 3 roster spots with guys taking turns getting suspended.
I’m 5th grade I was 5’8 and the hockey sticks were made for kids around 4’0-5’0 so every time we played hockey in gym I would leave with my back hurting like hell
The high school I went to, allowed us to bring in our own sticks for floor hockey but we weren’t allowed to have tape on our twig blades. Sounds awesome right….we were only allowed to used a felt puck, let me repeat that a felt puck. It was a puck that weighed 2 feathers.

I used to heat my mini sticks up with a lighter and bend em to get that perfect curve. I used to break em so often and all the lighters would be outa lighter fluid and parents would get pissed. 😂
My gym teacher would pick random captains but if there were two good kids on one team he would join the other team. Depending on how much better they were was how hard he would play. The gym teacher was a alumni who graduated with a lot of our brothers 5-8 years older so he was still athletic and knew us personally so could jab us around a bit more then if he didnt.

The middle school I went to let a couple of kids use sticks they brought from home once. They weren't hockey kids, like they would shoot at a net at home but didn't actually play. One of them wanted to show off and T'd up for a slapshot and broke my brother's tooth. School was mad my parents had the audacity to ask them to pay the bill, but reluctantly paid it and then banned kids from taking sticks from home.
I would always get fouled out for being to aggressive(really I was just better than most of the people and they were getting shoved around). But then people would intentionally elbow me in the face and the gym teacher wouldn’t do shit.
This is pretty much me and my friend in high school during gym, except we were usually playing in goal and trying to out-do one another. It was usually a feat for either of us to have a shutout because there were several kids in the class who actually played hockey. Damn, now I miss those fun times in high school. Hockey was our lives in Detroit in those days. Floor hockey in gym, sometimes we’d cut classes after lunch and play NHL 2004 on PS2 at his house, roller hockey year round including the winter and ice hockey. We were super competitive with each other. Now we just golf together, pretty much in our mid 30’s, we’re less likely to mess ourselves up golfing than pulling a groin playing in net again😂
