Awesome projects, as always! Would you ladies consider doing one on housewive (hussif) sewing kits? I can’t wait to see what you will bring along for the new year. Blessings!! I love you hair colors, by the way!!! 🤩
I just made my first pin pillow!! I used some fleece and it filled with with some of my hamster's bedding as I am still very much of a amateur when it comes to hand sewing my stitches are not great but with practice it will be better😁
I don't suppose there are too many extant examples of the heart pin cushions surviving, but I made 2 a few years ago with red wool on one side and sturdy blue linen on the other side. Are there any surviving examples of pin cushions made from 2 separate fabrics? Or should I just use them as Christmas ornaments until such time as I make another one that is red wool on both sides?
We’ve seen some fancier rectangular ones. I don’t think it’s unfeasible. Unfortunately the more common cushions only show in genre paintings and rarely survive.
@@BurnleyandTrowbridge brilliant, thank you! I must have had some reason for making them the way I did, I just can't remember why (which reminds me to really start a research diary, so I can look back at my reasons for making the decisions I have). I remember looking at a lot if examples on the Larsdotter page, so maybe I found one there! Anyway, thank you for your considered response 🥰
I have been trying to find metal rings to make the ball pincushions, but no luck! Are you aware of anyone who makes reproduction ones, or can you suggest something else to use (aside from ribbon)?
After the wool fibers have been cleaned they are then carded which lays them out together forming a loose fiber rope which is then used to spin the fiber into yarn.

Great idea! We will see what we can dream up!
While you were stitching the two halves of the pinball together it looked like a cute little silk macaron!
I think I want "Silk Dumplin" to be my new nickname. I love it :)
Christina loves dumplings. A lot. They are in fact one of her favorite foods 😆
As always, thank you and your team for the content. It's a welcome break on a Friday afternoon.

I'm loving these mini sew-alongs! Looking forward to making a few hand-embroidered bags and pillows for gifts this year.
I've wanted to switch over my men's caps for a while now, these are so simple I can't wait to make a whole lot more.
the true pinball wizard!
Cute and practical. Will definitely make a few....even if I don't finish until next year....😏
I loooove the Phoenix hair, but I totally expected to see more fade out
Add: uh-oh! We'll miss you! Happy winter!

I like the pin ball the best, thinking in red wool and green satin ribbon for Christmas gift.
Loop on the OUTSIDE - outside BEFORE you turn it! (insert facepalm here) .
Hi all! Reviewing video. My question is, I have roving, but it's polyester. Does it really matter what you use for the stuffing in the pin ball?
Hi Tina if you are just using it decoratively that's fine, however if you are using it as a pin cushion wool is preferred. It is nicer to the pins!

Hi I would suggest going to Colonial Williamsburg's online shopping. Their silversmith shop makes beautiful ones.
@@BurnleyandTrowbridge thanks so much!
I think I'll stuff it with hair I saved. I heard that it sharpens pins.
What is wool roving?

We have new plans in the works!
