    Instead of a "pro" I wished one of them made a "lite" with display only. No sensors, no sound, just screens. My nose gets really red with their weight.

    • @TBMartin
      @TBMartin 15 дней назад

      I wouldn't like it without sound. It's odd in my opinion hearing the sound coming from a different place to where the screen is. If you have a VR headset, output the sound to the TV only to get an idea of what I mean.

      But I’d rather wear my AirPods. So I agree, glasses that only had the screens would be great. Hell, move the electronics to a clip on the cord for your belt or pocket too.

    I wonder if the comfort and usability of the glasses could improve if they didn't try so hard to stick with a design that resembles traditional glasses? I'm not saying they should move towards something like a VR headset, but if they tried a design that focuses more on functionality than on aesthetics, perhaps they could improve even further.

    You say it works with old 3D movies, like 3D Blu-ray? Have you tested this or just Internet videos? I want to know because 3d Blu-ray is more complicated then just a side by side RUclips video. Also this device is only hdcp 1.4 so it probably won't work with 3d Blu-ray or 4k Blu-rays for anti piracy protection purpose. I imagine normal blu ray would work but have you tested 4K or 3D Blu-ray. I would love to here a reply if you could.

    • @JoeysRetroHandhelds

      Apologies, I don't own any 3d blurays at all to test, but via the mobile dock and hdmi to a 3d bluray player is what I'm told is how it works. My testing was internet.

    • @ruzaroos
      @ruzaroos 15 дней назад

      No, you need something to translate. USB-C is not simply a different connector than HDMI. There are HDMI female to USB-C female adapters on Amazon for about $35. They are tricky to find, but the sellers are starting to put XR Glasses in the thumbnail for them to stand out.

    I love the idea of these for traveling (on a train or a passenger in a car) but I don't understand the use of these at home when you could pick up a Quest 3 for the same price, have VR, AR and still be able to play your games on a large virtual screen. It doesn't help when the quest 3 will get a travel mode. Totally understand if you don't want something strapped to your face but once you are in AR mode, you forget that in my opinion.
    I hope these get to a point where they output 4K because that will help them stay in a market where a lot of devices can do the same thing.

    • @ruzaroos
      @ruzaroos 15 дней назад +2

      The Quest 3 doesn't have a simple display in mode, so you have to use software to get the PC to display inside the headset. The beauty of these glasses is how simple they are; which opens up so many devices. Take the horrible Netflix app on Quest 3. Connecting the Viture Pro to my iPad Mini nets a much better image than the silly Quest Netflix App. I even use an HDMI adapter to connect to a Chromecast. This makes it easy to navigate with just the remote rather than having to engage with the touch screen on the iPad. It is also way better for all the handheld gaming consoles or even a gaming laptop with USB-C display out. I don't need any special software or effort to connect these glasses to my gaming laptop when I want higher framerates and detail than what a gaming handheld can put out. 4K will definitely be amazing and I would also say these companies should just give up on the "sunglasses" format and just makes it look like a light VR headset like the HTC Vive Flow. That would make it easier to get to 4K and give the viewer a better field of view for a larger implied screen size. The sunglass metaphor is useless. It is the size and weight that matter.

    • @TBMartin
      @TBMartin 14 дней назад +1

      @@ruzaroos If you're connecting the glasses to a PC, A Quest 3 can do the same thing with better quality, its plug and play with one extra bit of software that's easy to set up.

    • @SToad
      @SToad 14 дней назад

      @@TBMartin I think these glasses have their use for whoever wants to have a lighter headset and convenience, but I agree with you that if you don't have those edge case scenarios of like, playing on the train (tbh it baffles me there are some countries so safe where people can feel comfortable playing with $2k+ devices on a train, make it +4k with the apple headset new thingy announced this week) or on a plane, and don't care about the added weight then price and feature wise the Quest 3 is best bang for the money indeed. And setting up Virtual Desktop is a one time and forget type of deal.

    • @TBMartin
      @TBMartin 14 дней назад

      @@SToad They definitely have a place but that place is being made smaller by other devices offering more features for the same price. Yes these glasses are lighter than a VR headset and these would be great for wimps who wimp out at 300g strapped to their face lol But if you're the type of consumer who vales money and what you get with that money, I think 9 out of 10 people would go for the VR headset regardless of weight because of the features on offer.

  • @nathanl2966
    @nathanl2966 15 дней назад +1

    Do you think there is enough clarity to use them productively? I'm just waiting for the tech to reach that point. Also (imo) they may as well stop trying to make them look like sunglasses and just go all out with eye visors, it seems like trying to make everything fit into wayfarers is a self imposed limitation.

    They should have made this as thin as possible just with the screens maybe? It would cost less, many people would buy, a bluetooth headphone can be paired with the steam deck or O2M and it becomes more practical.

      @jeppusahn without the nose piece on the xreal pro 2 there are no blurred edges, what I did was use a moldable foam at the nose piece insert (without nose piece) and pressed my face to it to find the sweet spot. If viture had the foldable y axis feature it might have helped with better FOV too. Every person's face is shaped differently so they should factor that in by making them a bit larger.
