@@VinnigsSpinTheBlock From here in Oregon all the way to southern Cali (13 hours), i would only have to charge twice, which is fine because i would be taking 2 breaks anyways or possibly sleeping.....Apply that to a bigger scale to more states away, and it would be convenient, unless you are the kind of person that likes to drive 13 hours without stopping. Have you thought about this? I'm guessing not

I am not saying their (Teslas) products are bad. I think they are a bit overhyped but all in all very futuristic.
Leading edge of the industry in a couple of points thats for sure.
My point is that Tesla just as Apple have so many fans that ignore every bad part about the company.
Apples and Teslas concepts are really similar in a couple of points.
They both put huge emphasis on design and the premium aspect.
They both try to build up a loyal followership that hypes every information.
They both build up a proprietary ecosystem
They both want to control their customers 100%
And they both punish their own customers if they do not follow their rules
Wanna sell your car? Do it over Tesla.
Wanna buy your car? Do it over Tesla.
Wanna repair your car? Do it over Tesla.
Wont follow those rules? Get your car practically deactivated wirelessly over the internet.
You do not really buy a Tesla. You buy a license to use it.

Actually, considering USB type C can deliver 100W max power, it would take 750 hours to charge the model 3's 75 kWh battery. That is 31.25 days, so roughly a month of charging.

TheKeyMast3r U must touch the steering wheel every five minutes ( I think it is five minutes), but on the display you can play some music and maybe some films and FB, but I am not sure if FB and Films aren't blocked when you are driving
Jakub.kr7 thanks for the response. It’s a bit annoying you have to touch the wheel every 5 minutes but I get it. And I’m sure someone out there will figure out how to play movies on that thing

There are several, I drive a lot, now i don't have to stop for gas, I charge at home or in the rare occasion at a supercharger, there is no vibrations from the engine in the car, you can keep the AC running cold/hot in all situations, you have direct power from the engines, that never stops to impress me, all the tech from the screen to over the air updates to the great UI, I love the extra storage areas and how good the car is in corners, it's like it is on rails. I love not to have to break just use the "gas"pedal do slow down, and i enjoy the auto pilot funktion as i work a lot from the car. when you own it and drives it you just know this is the future, everything else seams so old and crappy. Also i love the minimalistic yet exclusive interior, man I could go on and on. sorry for bad grammar (Swedish)

People compare EV range to a gas range. But those two are not comparable because you don’t leave with a full tank of gas every morning. And last time I had to charge on the road it was over half a year ago.
I put my initial $1000 reservation down April 1st, 2016 and the additional $2500 on June 30th, 2018 (when I got that option). Still waiting to get my AWD Model 3, but nice to see that more and more of these are ending up on the roads so really hoping the estimate they have on mine for Sept '18 - Nov '18 holds true.

It has gotten much worse for me (the waiting) after I test drove the Model 3. The enhanced autopilot is quite a bit more advanced than what I have tried in any other vehicle currently available.
On plus side, all this time waiting, I have also been saving up for the car so it will be a clean transaction and not a new monthly payment I have to make each month.

Teslas have lower than average depreciation (google "Tesla depreciation"). Typical battery degradation is about 3% in the first year, 1% in the second, and about half a percent per year after that. A typical gasoline or diesel car will lose more range per tank than that as it ages :)

Coal is down to about 30% of US electric generating and declining.
Battery degradation takes a long time. Your 3 years of battery life is fake news, it's just made up short seller rumor mongering. A taxi driver is now at 250K miles or more on a Model S and has 93% of original range. Just google "Finnish Model S Taxi 400KM" for the first hand information.
Someday far in the future, when Tesla batteries degrade to the point of no longer having adequate range, or more likely, the rest of the car wears out, the battery packs can still be used for home or utility scale storage.

I’m not quite sure how much they got it for but I know it’s a base model 3, which is often cheaper. I do remember that they had to reserve it about 1 year and a half ago, that’s was about $1,000. And we aren’t rich they’re just really successful realtors.

I live in Palo Alto California and I see Teslas everywhere I go. It’s almost impossible for me to drive somewhere without seeing at least three. It’s funny because some of my out of state college buddies freaked out when they saw how many Tesla’s there are here, it’s just so normal to me and I didn’t realize some people see these as super cars.

I tried the Model X and S. Would love to get a S but way too expansive for me. But you're right about something : I want to really search this out before anything, compare everything etc. But my first point was that they deliver something so much more in phase with the world we live in. In France, the biggest screen you can find is maybe the size of a iPad mini (maybe !) and the touchscreen feels like a technology of years ago ... Just an exemple in others but ... you see what I mean
I'm also in Europe and can't wait for mine. I'm really encouraged by the fact that the Canadian price is almost identical to the US price, after converting currencies! Here's to hoping that European prices will just be the US prices plus VAT! (where I am, there's no VAT on EVs, so... WIN!)

There is no TOXIC materials in Li-on battery, Lead acid battery is toxic and we all have one 40pounds in every car, Ni-Cd batteries are toxic.
Electricity is 50% fossil fuels generated and other 50% generated is hydropower, nuclear, wind, solar, geothermal etc.
If all electricity is produced with coal it is still less polluting driving EV than ICE (internal combustion engine) because coal power plant use coal much more efficiently than ICE use gas to produce power.
In power plant 60% coal energy is transformed in mechanical power and in cars from 20-35%, rest of it is heat that in cars is just dissipated trough car radiator, wasted. In power plants you can use that waste heat to heat buildings.
Ass we move further electricity will more cleaner and cleaner.
For example in Norway 98% electricity produced is from hydropower. One day we will all be clean as Norway.

its a nice car and all and its responsive BUT the battery overheats and when that happens its very lazy, its also a heavy car and handles like every heavy car out there, for a with air ride its not as smooth as i was expecting.....
You can drive model s and x 200km/h all the time it wont overheat!
