Ripping corpse - dreaming with the dead
Massacre - From Beyond
Cynic - Focus
Cancer - to the gory end
Brutality - screams of anguish
Vital Remains - let us pray
Nice dude! Those are on the list 😎
Ripping Corpse, Brutality and Vital Remains were definitely overlooked. Also Pyrexia
Glad to see you guys acknowledging DMS! They're a great place to look for some obscure thrash and death metal stuff! You should do these rankings for bands' second and following albums as well. Would love to see them!
Thats an interesting idea to follow up on. For now we will be doing the debuts by genre and decade.
Just discovered the channel! Digging it. Having been born in 1977, these 2 lists are so nostalgic to me. Great job guys. Vital Remains and Obituary are glaring in their absence.
Lots of albums are missing from this video because it's an incomplete series, Forgemate. And UMMM ACKSHUALLY, Obituary's debut was in 1989. This is 1990 - 1999.
You never heard about Nocturnus?! Old drummer of Morbid Angel!
No wonder the drumming is so nuts! Also, we were toddlers lol
I was surprised to hear that too. I grew up in that time, I first heard them on the legendary grindcrusher compilation, bc/ad was on there. That comp seems to have a big following, I assumed everybody would at least know nocturnus from that.
For part 3 I suggest Inside the Unreal by Electrocution, an italian band. Their debut was really brutal!
Thanks for suggesting that super unique pick!
@@forgemastermetal Glad to help with this list🙂. I forgo to suggest Above the Light by Sadist. They are Italian too, death metal with lots of keyboards. The guitarist used to play both even during live, really amazing!
Another ten debuts from the 90's
Disincarnate - Dreams from the carrion kind
Internal Bleeding - Voracious Contempt
Afflicted - Prodical Sun
Gorement - The Ending Quest
God Macabre - The Winterlong...
Incantation - Onward to golgotha
Pyrexia - Sermon of mockery
Deeds Of Flesh - Trading pieces
Seance - Fornever laid to rest
Disgorge - Cranial Impalement
I love this community. Thanks man! This is gonna be a great series
@@forgemastermetal I bet u gonna have to do more than parts 3 and 4.... 🤣🤣

Great Job, guys!
What about Pungent Stench & Hypocrisy & Gorefest?
I mean ..... "For God your soul" & " Penetralia " & "Mindloss" are (in my opinion) Top 10
We will get to them!
Looking forward to seeing Vader's Ultimate Incantation ranked in pt. 3😁
It’ll happen! So many great records to talk about!
One album i cant find in the comments directly is Purtenance - Member of immortal damnation. Great album
Great list so far fellas🤘🏼Baphomet, My Dying Bride, Accidental Suicide, Acrostichon in part 3 ??
Well def add those!
Thanks for the part deux! I missed a bunch of these, growing up in the 80s/90s I never really got deep into deathmetal until I got older. Great to see the debut Dying Fetus on this list. I'm guessing Nile's debut will be in part trois?
Yeah probably - it’ll make it in one of the vids. There’s so many!
Dude it’s so hilarious that people were butthurt that you both have OPINIONS on Albums. Like Forgemaster are just giving their opinions you all take it wayyy to seriously. Great vid as always.
guess if you want some albums for part 3
Nile-Amongst the Catacombs of Nephren Ka
Decapitated-Winds of Creation
Gojira-Terra Incognita
Opeth-Orchid
Ripping Corpse-Dreaming with the Dead
Bloodbath-Resurrection through Carnage
In Flames-Lunar Strain
Carnage-Dark Recollections
Necrophobic-The nocturnal Silence
Nice additions. We have such a huge list this is going to go on for awhile lol.
There’s some seriously butthurt people in the comments of these videos. 🙃😜
Nile, Pyrexia, Brutality and Baphomet all had 90’s debuts worthy of taking a look at in part 3
Hell yeah!
The fucking Windows 95 Launch dancing over Grave had me 🤣🤣🤣
lol
4:44
I like how you two mention that you like the cover of considered dead, comparing it to how good malevolent creation’s album artworks are as well, because they were actually made by the same artist, Dan Seagrave.
He is also responsible for the creation of the artwork for Left Hand Path, Altars of Madness, Like an Ever Flowing Stream (My personal favorite), Effigy of the Forgotten and many many more
Dan Seagrave is an absolute legend and I think he deserves a little more attention and recognition for the amount of absolutely incredible artwork he has given the death metal community
Edit - Sorry if you guys already know this😂 I’m not sure how well known this information is
Actually didn’t know that! Thanks man that’s rad as hell.
Though they are very doom oriented, the debuts by Paradise Lost and Tiamat are both very death heavy debuts. Also, Opeth and Septicflesh debuts are strong possible additions.
Those totally will get talked about at some point
Love the cat bopping it's head 😂😂❤❤
😎
Fun fact Chris Barnes did backing vocals for Considered Dead
i was 15yo in 1990 & i immediately jump into that new genre that death metal was & since those years im still listening it nowadays,. im not playing classic albums as much rn but thanks for bring me back to my teenager memories through your ranked :)
Awesome! What were your faves from that time?
@@forgemastermetal BIG fan of Demigod's album but also : "Mordicus Dances from Left", "Brutality Screams of Anguish", "Molested Blod-draum", "Illdisposed Four Depressive Seasons", "Gorefest Mindloss" & so many i have forgotten hahaha
Thank you guys for the shoutout!!! 🤘🤘
Love your stuff, bro!
@@forgemastermetal thanks man! This is a solid ass list too and ive not heard half of these albums! Also nice shirt haha
All added to my extreme metal playlist 🙌🤘
That's what ya gotta do!! Thanks for tuning in, Forgemate.
Nice list (again). For part three please add nile, gorefest, god dethroned, skinless, morgoth and thanatos( one of the first dutch death/thrash metal bands)
They’re on this massive list that keeps growing lol
Great video guys, but did you guys forget about Nile?
This will be a multi part series bud. Be patient 😜
@@forgemastermetal great, looking forward to the next part!
Atrocity - Hallucinations! One of the greatest albums EVER
Great addition!
For part III you might include; Cynic "Focus"; Atheist "Piece of Time"; Morgoth "Cursed"; Gorefest "Mindloss"; Benediction "Subconscious Terror"; Pungent Stench "For God Your Soul"; Disharmonic Orchestra "Expositionsprohylaxe"; Massacre "From beyond"; Cancer "To the Gory End"; Master "Master"; Vader "Ultimate Incantation"; Baphomet "Inherit the Dead"
Thanks for the suggestions!
Some choice picks on this tier list. A few I'm going to blast working out this week...first some Cephalic Carnage to start the day!
Have a great week lads 🤘
Nice man, get buff 💪
Transcendence continues to be massively underrated
I dont think I've ever heard of Demigod. .thanks for finding a band for me to do back dive into ..
Nice! Such a killer gem
"dog shit is my spirit animal" had me rolling 😂😂😂😂
Lmao
When Comparing (and feeling bad about) your comparison of Cannibal Corpse and Six feet Under, dont forget that timewise a more fair battle would be between The Bleeding and SFU.
Man Martin van Drunen is the saving grace for me on that Asphyx record haha. Though I’m probably biased as he’s my second favorite death metal vocalist behind Mikael Akerfeldt.
I think of the new additions to the list, my favorite is the Demigod album, followed by Gorguts.
He’s def a legendary vocalist. I disagreed w/ Ben’s comment lol
Its really hard for me to relate to your taste in death metal, my rating wouldve been extremely different. But its cool that you took time to introduce these bands to someone who didnt know them
That's what it is all about!!
I think this can turn to a series, there are so many albums to cover... From the top of my head Hate, Akercocke, Belphegor, Baphomet, Nile, Scepticflesh...
Totally! We’ll do more and add to it
Lots of great death metal debuts here for the most part. Here’s how I’d rank them:
S - Nocturnus - The Key, Demigod - Slumber of Sullen Eyes
A - Grave - Into the Grave, Asphyx - The Rack, Amorphis - The Karelian Ishthmus, Krisiun - Black Force Domain, Mortician - Hacked Up for Barbecue, Exhumed - Gore Metal, Necrophagist - Onset of Putrefaction
B - Gorguts - Considered Dead, Sinister - Cross the Styx, Devourment - Molesting the Decapitated
C - Dying Fetus - Purification Through Violence, Aborted - The Purity of Perversion
D - Six Feet Under - Haunted
Thanks for sharing your list!
I loved the RA2 piece haha
lol thanks for watching
Gotta love the tich brah brah
Love 'em!!
MTD is still one of the heaviest albums of all time.
Still no mention of To The Gory End by Cancer???
This. Is. Going. To. Be. A. Series.
I came across Nile's debut a while ago. I do have some of the later albums in my collection. Really love "Those whom the gods detest", but their newest stuff is not my thing.
But after listening to "Amongst the Catacombs of Nephren-ka", I had to get the vinyl for it. Fucking brutal stuff! It's from 98 I think.
It's the only vinyl I own at the moment :P But I got the new release from Vastum on vinyl coming soon \M/
Spoiler alert, but I'm in the opposite boat! I loved what Nile was attempting to do with their early stuff, but it was a bit too sloppy for me. It took George Kollias to change the game. The first album I loved by them was Annihilation of the Wicked.
No "D" pics. Did you challenge the internet on purpose? Jokes aside, thanks for the video. You guys have a great weekend.
Thanks for tuning in!
Part 3 yall should add xysma-yeah and convulse-world without god
Hell yeah
@@forgemastermetalyeah is such an underrated classic
For me, Ripping Corpse - Dreaming With The Dead is the perfect record. Their 2nd unreleased album is possibly even better. Nothing comes close to that band.
Where on earth is dreaming with the dead by ripping corpse
Part 3 and 4 will come.
Stop in the name of Death Metal Love ❤ 😂
Can't stop - won't stop!
I suppose I can forgive the lack of Cynic - Focus due to the list being great and Focus isn't enough of a straight OSDM i guess...
This will also be multiple parts - so we’ll get to it
Cancer, Adramelech, Electrocution for the next one!
Nice!
Mortification? Crimson Thorn?
More episodes to come???
Hypocrisy for me is S tier, also I will mention Vader and Vital Remains
Solid additions for the next one
No Brutality ot Massacre debuts? those are S tier all the way. And Sinister has to be put at S tier. In my eyes they do no wrong those first 3 albums are straight masterpieces.
Thanks for your opinions! That Sinister record is cool, but we found it to be a bit generic at times. Still a great record. This is a multi part series and I'm sure we will be covering the other bands you mentioned.
Guys, you must add the bands named Desultory from Sweden snd Illdisposed from Denmark , this stuff is so underrated! And actually you forgot Bolt Thrower and Benediction too
Ummm ackshually, this is going to be a series where we will cover most of those bands. *pushes glasses up*
Oh Damn, Krisiun all the way at the bottom....interesting.
We’re dorks who love the groove. I can see why people would love that debut tho.
What happend with Morbid Angel - "Altars of Madness" ???? 89-90
We're only doing bands from 1990 - 1999. That album was released in 1989 AND WE ARE MAKING ZERO. EXCEPTIONS.
Hey there \m/
The list is missing VADER among others. Please make sure, You add it as well as You may consider some from my list below:
The Ultimate Incantation by Vader
Master by Master
Penetralia by Hypocrisy
Black Earth by Arch Enemy
Lunar Strain by In Flames
Amongst the Catacombs of Nephren-Ka by Nile
From Beyond by Massacre
Only Our Death Is Welcome... by Krabathor
PS. Cannibal Corpse should go up on the list of Yours, please...
There will be a part 3 my friend
What about winter and brutal truth
There's hundreds of bands to go through, mate. Stay tuned because it's a multi part series.
So many great Death Metal Albums out in the 90's! Love that time!
I think my favorite will be Demigod!!
An fucking Killer of an Album!!
💀🤘💀🤘💀🤘
What a killer debut!
Asphyx should never get demoted.
They should’ve played better 😘
Not cool. Not cool at all. "We were toddlers when most of these albums came out." I was 15 in 1992. Thanks for making me feel old.
Unleashed is very underrated here
Immolation also underrated
Six Feet Under is Overrated
Cannibal Corpse a little underrated but Im biased
Mortician is a bit overrated because of the production.
Your ranking isnt bad. Its very fair. That Deicide needs to be bumped up. Again Im biased.
Other debuts
Gutted- Bleed for Us to Live
Nile- Amongst theCatacombs of Nephren- Ka
Cattle Decapitation- Human Jerky
Seance-Forever Laid to Rest
Monstrosity-Imperial Doom(I cant remember if this was added in part one)
Vital Remains- Let us Pray
Belphagor-The Last Supper
Hate Eternal-Conquering the Throne
Lol, you’re awesome. Solid next list to add to the heap!
Gorements Album "the ending quest" should be here next time
I’m sure we’ll get to it eventually
It would be cool to hang out with you guys.
I barely like hanging out with us lol
@@forgemastermetal haha!
DISINCARNATE- DREAMS OF THE CARRION KIND should be on here by the end of this series. A GREAT ALBUM and anything James Murphy 👌
Ohhhh it’s on the list dontchu worry 🙃
Autopsy - Severed Survival. 89 release but close enough
We follow the rules around here, lol 😜
Did I miss the Nile?
No but we’re going to more of these
Yep - now it seems much more complete. It's funny how you guys see those old albums - totally different to my view. You like 90s for what was the prominent DM sound back then (OSDM nowadays) while I listening to the albums upon their release preferred the albums that pushed DM into new territories like Cynic, Amorphis, The Gathering and Necrophagist over bands playing the same shit everybody else did with just a new snare sound or newtype of vocals (toilet, pig squeak). I'd definitely want to know where you put Cynic.
I love those bands too that pushed the boundaries. Most of those bands though we didn’t see that shift until their debuts dropped.
Cynic will get on the list, don’t worry 😘
Have you guys ever heard of Monstrosity? Or Internal Bleeding? Or Incubus (the real) ? Or Brutality? wtf??
If you’re patient or you paid attention - you’d realize this is an ongoing multipart series
@@forgemastermetal Well if you guys never heard of them, they would never be on your list. All 4 are S-tier, as is The Ten Commandments btw
I'm 52 so i guess im ancient compared to you guys
Age is but a frame of mind my friend
I'm also going to have give Sinister a spin. They sound pretty awesome
Maybe Possessed by Gojira for part 3 ?
Great suggestion!
bought The Rack not long after it's release. listened to it a lot (cuz of other people liking it so much) before i determined it was trash for me.
Why did you not enjoy it?
@@forgemastermetal the flow of the riffs just didn't carry any coherent mood for me. like the transitions didn't make much sense. like they were puzzled together and mechanical (i don't mean that they were precise, but more like an AI could have written their riffs).
Wtf Sepultura disbanding?! 😢 nooooooooooooooo!!!
Their European tour will be their final one. 😞
@@forgemastermetal 😭😭😭
Molesting the decapitated 💀
These newbie clowns have no idea if it were not for RUclips they would not have a clue
OOP is literally top 10 DM debuts of all time for me. Those riffs and leads are insanely catchy for a tech death record. Love Gorguts and Cryptopsy as well.
At the risk of sounding like a prog snob, I have more the opposite issue where I can't get into the more caveman/slam type shit. Too boring and don't like the weird ass muffled/fizzy production sound they tend to use for some reason.
I don’t judge bro. You love what you love
Paradise lost debut
Not quite death metal. We may have a 90s doom debut in the works!
@@forgemastermetal
Cool! I have thoughts.....
@@forgemastermetal 🙏🏽🤘🏾🤟🏾
Umm. Obituary?
Ummmm 1989???
Vader?
This is a multi-part series. We'll get to them.
Great job ! Some of the records in part 2 I haven't even listened to; so some new discoveries.
Some records (above “just OK” rating) to reflect on in par 3 & 4, if to stick only to OSDM:
Pan.thy.monium - Dawn Of Dreams
Massacre - From Beyond
Nile - Amongst the Catacombs of Nephren-Ka
Gorefest - Mindloss
Desultory - Into Eternity
Disastrous Murmur - Rhapsodies In Red
Orphaned Land - Sahara
Cancer - To the Gory End
Pungent Stench - For God Your Soul... For Me Your Flesh
Carnage - Dark Recollections
Oooo love the Orphaned Land plug!
Where’s cynic debut focus? Or atheist piece of time. Some say 1989 some say 1990 and monstrity debut
This will be a multi part series dude
@@forgemastermetal I'm really enjoying the content. Both of you have given alot of new bands to listen to.
I could school you young lads on the 90's Death Metal😂
Probably, we’re not experts lol
Rating osdm is not your guys strong point.
Because we disagree? Grow up dude lol
@@forgemastermetal I felt like I gave fair criticism. Its not your strong point. You're unfamiliarity with many of these proves osdm is not necessarily not your "strong point". You don't need to insult every person that has shows criticism you asked for, "Let us know below." Well, we let you know. 🤘😘
Music is subjective. These are opinions. Once again, just because we disagree doesn’t mean it’s “not our strong point.” It means we disagree.
My statement stands. Your comment was shortsighted and immature.
They're better with rating osdm than you are with grammar. So there's that, I guess.
