I love your presentation of this Vevor Drain Auger (AKA) Snake, 100 ft, 1/2 cable, which caused me to make this purchase. I was not going to buy it because of the bad reviews I read, but you were awesome in your hands-on application and explanation on how to work this drain clearing snake. I just want to tell you...Thank You, Sir. Peace, Love, and Happiness...God is Love 😊
    Princess 😊

Thank you for your views and comments.
I think it's a good product but most people try to cut through to big of ruts and such trying to force them. It takes a big machine to cut roots.
      God Bless!

Papaw, I have a septic system, and my kitchen sink is clogged. My house was built in 1948, and there is a drain in the concrete floor outside of my basement door, and a drain inside the basement concrete floor. I plan to clear them both because that is where water is backing up when I plunge the kitchen sink...Or, should I clear the sink by feeding the snake through the pipe under the sink? What do you suggest I do? Princess 😊

I would try the drain in the basement first myself because if it's backing up in the basement that tells me the problem is between the basement and the septic system. Not between the sink and the basement.
      Hope that makes since.
Goodluck! I hate drain issues. LOL

Great advice...I will use the drain snake to unclog the basement floor first...Thanks again Papaw. Peace, Love, and Happiness 😊 Princess 😊

I've heard mixed reviews on these. I think you are right about how most probably don't know how to use them. Personally, I have a few minor roots in my main. So, hopefully I will only have to use it a couple times per year. If I get like 10 uses out of it then it's more than paid for itself. I would go with a different brand but the next cheapest you can get that is big enough to handle roots is almost 3 times the cost. Bit extreme considering how little I will be using it.

Just take it slow and work it back and forth and I think you will be happy with it.

It's not a machine for roots decent otherwise been using mine for a couple years for floor drains and cloggs in commercial bathrooms. Bought it as a quick replacement while waiting for repair parts on other machine and ended up keeping it on the truck. Auto feed doesn't hold up. I would still get the model with autofeed manuel feed model shakes too much.

@@sewerrat7612 I bought the 3/4" version... think that will be okay for minor roots? I have very thin roots right at the city connection. I thought maybe run it down the pipe twice a year so they can't grow any bigger.
Also, are you saying the autofeed one can be used manually no problem? Just loosen the bolt to do it that way? Oh, also, I've never seen manual feed, do you have it turning while you pull it out or do you stop it each time?

@101perspective just loosen tension know at top to pull out cable and use manually. Supposed to stop machine when pulling out but can be done while spinning if you have decent gloves. Machine should work for fine roots recommend not using screw/bulb head can easily get stuck in roots.
