I bought the tumbler because whetstones are challenging to get a consistent angle. It might not be the finest edge but it is much easier to get good edge for using your knives for food than any other simple sharpening system. Great honest review

And I only bought and used Forschner knives from Germany, and I still have some to this day and I have my favorite steel that brings the edges back up. I even had names for favorite knives. My most favorite stubby I still use in my kitchen, I keep it in a case because it is so sharp. This is roller thingy is very intriguing for sure. I hated sharpening my knives, we used to wetstone. Also, I regret selling my wetstone 3 stone holder with mineral oil mot. I still have the 3 levels of coarse stones, but not the mechanism that held the mineral oil. Sharp knives a must for retail meat cutter. Thanks for sharing. Oh I just looked up and saw the hair on the leg being shaved. 😂😂😂😂😂😂😮

I count the number of passes for each side of the knife so it’s the same number passes. Put pressure on it. Some knives are made of cheesy metal, don’t waste your time. I don’t have a lot of patience so I can finish five knives within 10 minutes. You have to keep up your sharpening, depending on use of the knives. This is great product. There are other sharpeners that you can change the grit of the sharpening material but way more money this product is great for me.

That was very interesting. I probably have 30 plus knives to sharpen. I bought my neighbor a ken onion version knife sharpener a few years back and handed him my collection to sharpen. They held up for a while. Last week I decided to get your recommended Trizor. Holy cow that thing is great. I’m terrible at sharpening knives and even I could do it. So I’m slowly working my way through my pile of dull knives. It definitely takes some time. I think they are even sharper then what my neighbor did with that other unit with all the different belts. I still need to get a strop. Your other video on knife sharpening really stuck in my brain. I love a sharp knife. The unit you reviewed today looks pretty kool, but kind of glad it didn’t do as well as the other. As usual I learn something from almost every video you do! Thanks Steve!

splendid review, thank you. Horl makes a similar gizmo with interchangeable discs, it looks better and smoother from the reviews I've seen.. Not all of my knives have the same angle at the cutting edge. One particular guyoto I have, ranges from 12.5' at the tip to about the center, , ,then opens up to about 20' near the handle (stronger, tougher, and longer lasting), for the butts of carrots, topping hard veggies, etc. I will however buy one of these. which one ? Probably the Horl, but I just found those so far, and I'm sure there are, or will be more shortly. Thanks again

I appreciate this review. Definitely didn't feel like you were just shilling for the product which I appreciate.
Sounds to me like the tool is fine enough that it doesn't move metal very quickly. It is also interesting that you didn't feel like it ultimately got your knife overly sharp. Worst of both worlds.
Also, as someone who has previously sharpened straight razors, it always grates on me a little when people say something is "shaving sharp" or that you can "shave with it". Removing long growth from a leg or arm is not what people who sharpen actual razors would call shaving sharp. To get a comfortable shave you usually need the razor to cut hanging hairs (i.e. pass the hanging hair test). I'm sure you could find examples on youtube. Just a bit of a pet peeve of mine.
