As a barbering student I was taught to scissor cut working in vertical sections going around the head, which took me ages. That was until I watched your video and saw you using the scissor over comb horizontal refining method. It blew my mind and from there on i practiced this technique over an over. Now I don’t mind doing scissor cuts and I passed the course! So thank you for your RUclips content.
Love this guy. Went to college to study barbering, didn’t feel confident enough to do it for a living. Watched this guys videos and learned more than I did at college and my confidence has grown. Thanks for all your tips and advice.
I’ve newly began my barber journey and your tutorials make it so simple to understand the concepts of why you cut a certain way and how it impacts the final image. Look forward to more from you! Thank you for taking your time to break it down for us!!
i really cannot express how thankful I am to find your RUclips channel. As a barber student, your scissor over comb and razor technique is the very best way for me to learn and practice on my clients , and thus far, all of my clients are satisficed with their cuts. Thank you for sharing your gift and talent with all. I'm looking forward to taking your course.
Thank you!!! I have cut my husband's hair before but wasn't as good as his barber. I used your tutorial and its the best cut I've ever given him! Thank you for such clear steps.
You are an excellent teacher. I have cut hair for a while, but still struggling with certain types of hair. But watching your videos has taught me a lot and has removed all that struggle. I have never been more confident cutting hair. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR SHARING YOUR EXPERTISE. YOU ARE AWESOME!
Very great step by step, and going over the fundamentals. I’m a barber and I love doing scissor cuts and I just wanted to watch this for the sake of seeing a different method than I use, and this is what I do and is as good as it gets. A true gem and you’re giving it away for free bravo.
I subscribed to this channel today. I live in a country located in Africa and my wife and I sometimes cut each other's hair because the local barbers have never handled hair like ours before. I've been watching so many videos but I'm confident that this video is the simplest and clearest solution.
This is such a good video. As an experienced barber myself it’s hard to find videos online that I can show to any barber apprentices I’m teaching that don’t go into some ridiculous sectioning you’ll never do on a day to day basis in a shop! Will definitely be recommending your channel, thanks!
Not a barber but I’ve cut my own a fair few times during lockdown and since we’ve gotten back to normal. Love your stuff. It simplifies what feels very tricky.
This is great, no barbers in my area understand this gradual length increase to the front it’s frustrating because I like this swept back flow look a lot!
I watched some of your videos so I could do the hair of 2 of my neighbors who have cancer. I'm back to report it turned remarkably well and I'm just so grateful for your videos. The very top on one of their heads wasn't quite what I was going for 😹😹😹😹😹 but in a week it'll be great. Just thank you so much. Cat

Loved your video and how you explained as you were doing your magic!! 😉 I found it strangely soothing which is the first time i experience this watching how a man has a haircut!! Thank you 🤗
I do like that style hair cut , it was easy enough to follow along with , think I would need a few dummies to practice on though 🤣 his hair looked fantastic great job , I would of been very happy with that. Awesome video 👍
Love your work brother. This skill disappeared in my town within a few short years. As a 52 yo professional male seeking a clean scissor cut, all ‘stylists’ do today is ask which # guard before seeing how fast they can get you out.

@@theoneminutebarber I have the extreme hold pomade (green tin). I don't use it as much as I could. But I have been playing with their sectioning method.
I cut my 4 yr old son’s hair and now I see where I made the mistakes when using the scissors. Taking weight off the top! I must learn this technique. Thank you for your videos
Hello from Texas USA!!! Truly enjoy watching your tutorial videos! Do you cut women's hair as well or only men's hair?? Please keep posting these wonderful videos!!!!
I'm 10 days in to barber school and so far I feel like a fucking idiot your videos somewhat relax me as a man I've never got my hair cut with scissors in a barber in my whole life
Overdirection is boss! Love to use this technique. I'm not so concerned with removing points as the hair usually stays back. Like the haircut overall, though I think it is too short around the ears, especially the whitewalls at back. But great work. You make it look simple!
Do you do the same on the left side that you did on the right in regards to the top? Or is the method just as shown where you do the right side, then the top?
It's best to do the right and left side then the top. I sometimes only show one side in videos because the video can get a bit long winded if I show both sides.
Bottom to top works too. I just prefer top to bottom as the weight is taken from the top working down which means I'm not working into the hair up above
Awesome video, thank you! I'm gonna attempt to cut my partners hair and I'm wondering, you did the compound overdirection on the left side because I didnt see when you did it? I saw when you did that cut on the right side but it looked like you cut the top and then went right to the finishing touches. I need to make sure to do the compound overdirection on both sides then right?

Most barbers have become so good at "the fade" that they neglect the importance being good with the scissors. They should all watch this video 👍🏽
Seriously, no disrespect to barbers, but from own experience, they can't cut the hair on top for sh*t 😧😧😧
@@mizuxsion exactly! I call them “fade merchants”
No everyone has this type of long stringy hair for this cut
@@forthdimension686 Not everyone has it but it's still very important skill for all barbers

I like how smooth and buttery your haircuts turn out. As you like to say it seems natural and not like it's been cut❤

Good advice by the barber. Down here in New Zealand there was a big uproar as a child had some of his ear cut badly by the barber.
That’s a really unfortunate thing to happen I hope the kid was ok and the barber not too shaken.

Fairly long, but the best thing to do is send the video to your barber and ask if they can do it for you.

yes that is correct, I often don't show both sides in my videos because it can get repetitive, but the process is the same both sides
