    new block at 1:28 looks like maybe the action relay. similar shape. Has the control panel station thing on it.

    The 7.5 x 7.5 x 10 is likely in meters, making it 3x3x4 large grid blocks. The current Large Atmospheric Thruster is 3x3x5, so that's at least close to the same.

      @@jimclayson Still, bigger than the atmos thrusters we have atm

      @@ranaghast It's one block length SMALLER than the current model.
      7.5 x 7.5 x 10 = 3x3x4 in the art
      7.5 x 7.5 x 12.5 = 3x3x5 for the SE1 Large Atmospheric Thruster in LG
      The existing thruster has a lot of dead space at both ends, but takes up a full five blocks in length... so with the new, unified grid system, it's probably just the tightened up clipping that makes most of the difference.
      Just sayin'. YMMV.

      @@jimclayson Oh I see. But then why would it be labelled huge?

    • @jimclayson
      @jimclayson 7 дней назад +2

      @@ranaghast The term "large" has been confusing in SE for ages, with things like the "Large Grid Large Atmospheric Thruster" as opposed to the "Small Grid Large Atmospheric Thruster." I'd expect, with the inclusion of the unified grid format, it was a great opportunity to recodify labels on Atmospheric Thrusters (among other things). The "Large Grid Large" items may now be "huge," for instance. Maybe the "Large Grid Small" is the new "large," leaving room for "small" and "tiny" for the remaining Atmospheric Thrusters.
      This is all conjecture on my part, of course.
      EDIT: Thinking about it, they likely parroted D&D's "Small," "Medium," "Large," and "Huge" size categories... although whether those make it into the final product is another matter altogether... but again, this is all conjecture... although if my theory is correct, that also leaves room for "Gargantuan," and even "Colossal," which amuses me tremendously.

    I'm hoping with SE2 we see more in the way of AI. The play field always felt empty. I mean, I'd LOVE to see something on the scale of Empyrion Galactic Survival. But that might be asking too much, even the devs can't seem to make that game run well

      I agree! Given that GoodAI has just put out AI People, I think things are looking up in that area! Especially given the next update seems focused on NPC upgrades!
