A tip I think that's worth mentioning is when you oil regularly, you'll have oily lent. Oily lent will clog up your mini vacuum attachments. I first use paint brushes to knock off the bulk of the lent to the bottom of the machine and sweep it out. This reduces a large volume of oily lent to clog up the attachment hose. Then lastly, I vacuum.
The Sewing Channel Yes, I do. I love them. I think I may get a little shop vac like yours. I'm concerned I'm going to mess up my studio vacuum. I have around 12 places I have to oil. So my lent is really oily. 😬 also, look on Amazon and you can get these little squeeze bottles that have a needle on the end. I just fill one up from my bottle of oil. It helps with over oiling.
❓❓❓Let me know here in the comments~"How often do you clean and oil your serger"?❓❓❓
Thanks for all the use full information, my serger keeps breaking the right needle maybe i have to clean and oil like you did
*_Yes that could be the problem....Your post reminds me that mine is due now for a cleaning and oil...thank you LOL😂_*
Hahaha! My serger looks like that…..😁
That isn't bad. I clean and oil mine about every 10 hours of use. That may be in one day or a week.
Occasionally if heavy use in a day I'll do a quick vacuum without oiling, then do the vacuum and oil at the 10 hourish mark.
Do you use the tiny vacuum attachments?
