When It comes to Jordan Love's play style, he is quite literally a love child of Favre and Rodgers. Obviously he doesn't have nearly the same resume, but as a Packers fan I subconsciously put every play he makes, good or bad, somewhere on a sliding scale from Favre to Rodgers, Gunslinger to Surgeon.

He’s nothing if not fun to watch! Still think that second half Jordan this past week was ridiculous even with the inaccuracy and terrible interception decision. Important to also note that he hasn’t been doing many live goes with the receivers and he’s still gotta get on the same page with a still super young WR core. Felt that with the second int hardcore.

Not the best decision, but it was there. He knew what he did wrong and remained clean through the rest of the game.

Let's be clear the Packers offence made one TD drive on the Vikes D in the 28 minutes that the game was live. One TD drive was 3 yards after the muffed punt. Another came from the forced fumble. The last one with time on the clock was irrelevant and only occurred because Aaron Jones and Sherfield mixed up their blocking assignment on the 4th and 1 jet sweep, that basically would have finished the game at 31-22, or even 38-22 it it had got home.

Idk how close you actually watched the Vikings defense, but they weren’t doing anything uncharacteristic the entire second half. They still stopped the packers offense more than not, and were still disguising coverages the exact same way they have whether the score was 28-7 or 28-22.

    • @robe2504
      @robe2504 6 дней назад

@@justinrenaud4818 That's right, and the Vikes had the ball, and scored again restoring the 2 score lead. The Packers never had the ball with a chance to take the lead. It wasn't close.
The Packers offence only made one scoring drive against that D in 28 minutes. I'd say that D was pretty effective.
Very short fields from a ST and offensive errors aren't an indictment on, or solution to, the defence.
And the game was over for the last one. It was literally part of the last rites, which were only delayed because of a blocking mix up.
And btw, were not making excuses for winning, just trying to help out a few delusional Packers fans that think they had a chance. Maybe Packers fans are just avoiding thinking about a trap game at the Rams, who are starting to get healthy?

Haha, Sam Darnold's ghosts are sure having a field day in many analysts heads. So many missed his gradual improvement with the Panthers and are so very, very desperate for their pre-conceptions to come true. Meanwhile other can't miss and feted prospects - Kyler, TLaw, Hurts and co, seem to miss the pumpkin treatment.
Not Sam's best game for sure with a couple of execution errors like getting play calls in etc, one or two decisions everyone could second guess, but can we please judge all QBs by the same standard.
Darnold has now clearly outplayed Purdy, Stroud and Love in consecutive weeks - guys in their 3rd, 2nd and 5th seasons with their teams. Darnold has had 4 months and 4 games with this coach, playbook and playmakers. Everyone expecting pumpkins might do well to consider how much better this offence will get when Sam is locked in and has all his weapons.
And with 10-12 new faces on the defensive rotation, might want to extend that scope for improvement to whatever they're doing now too.
We're probably watching this Vikes team closer to their floor than their ceiling.

I think you’re being a little too harsh on Darnolds game. That dropped pick to start the game the defender followed his man out of bounds and came back in last minute. Obviously a turnover worthy play but I think 99% of QBs don’t see him out of bounds like that. The bad read that did go for an int was pretty clearly forcing a ball to AJ to get him a TD in his old stadium on what could be their last scoring drive of the game.
Obviously mistakes that should be noted but I don’t think they are examples of the “old Darnold” peaking his head. The strip sack being the exception because you’re right he was oblivious to that blitz.

He's still Darnold. He didn't have an epiphany & then all his muscle memory evaporated allowing him to start all over. Traumatic experiences implant themselves in one's subconscious. Look at how fields played in the preseason.
Bouncing on the balls of his feet unable to find any calm. Looking to run first, open receivers 2nd. He's not _on_ the Bears anymore. But because of ruclips.net/video/FiiK21VzI_o/видео.html (the 1st 23 minutes are more than enough) having to be on non-stop alert every second, his subconscious remains on lookout.
Only this past game did he genuinely seem like he's not doing that anymore & sure enough, he needed that back. But he didn't get this way _until_ '23. So Darnold said Purdy showed him some things & yeah, he's doing them.
But the old ghosts are still there as are his tendencies to throw INTs. Those things didn't disappear. They're part of him. He didn't get to exorcise those things yet. To do that, he has to play, feel those memories bubble up & handle them when they do. So far, he's been pressured for one half of one game & a lot of it came right back.
Not saying this is permanent. Just saying we're likely to see more of this over the next couple of games.

    • @robe2504
      @robe2504 7 дней назад

@@ChewsCarefully Firstly - muscle memory doesn't actually exist. Muscles don't have memory, only your brain does.
Sure, Darnold made progress at the 49ers, when he was able to sit, but he also made significant progress before that at the Panthers. He went 8-9 there in two seasons, particularly in 2022, his 5th season, when he started to cut down his INTs.
Every QB has a tendency to throw INTs under pressure - that is not a Darnold specific thing. Cousins actually threw more INTs than TDs in his first 3 seasons at Washington, but he got that under control in his 4th year. No one seems to worry that Cousins had worse start at Washington than Darnold did at the Jets. This season Sam has currently thrown fewer INTs than Mahomes, Goff, Cousins, Hurts, Love, and Geno, and has faced the toughest schedule of anyone.
I don't understand why everyone seems to measure Darnold by a different standard than everyone else, and scrutinise every potential interception, and not do this to other QBs
Sam has been throwing the ball as accurately as Cousins and Rodgers through for the last two and a half seasons that they've played (2021, 2022, 2024) with almost identical throws on target% and bad throws % as both of them, fewer bad throws than Rodgers this season (per Pro Football Reference).
And what tendencies bubbled back up under pressure? The only times I remember Darnold being under pressure - early in the 4th quarter vs the 49ers, and Packers at 28-22, Sam has in Mahomes like fashion driven the ball flawlessly up the field for game clinching FGs. He did it with his WR3, WR4, WR5, TE3 and RB2 vs the 49ers.
As for panicking - instead of running back into a sack when a play broke down like week 2 and 3, in week 4 he took off and ran for a couple of first downs. Instead of trying a random toss over Jones head when a there was a mix up in the back field, he surrendered and accepted a sack.
So, I think exactly the opposite of what you suggest is happening. The "old tendencies" aren't reoccurring, they're being replaced by different and safer responses.
I'd suggest that there are so many people that were completely wrong about Sam, that are so desperate to be proven right, that Sam's ghosts are in their heads, not his.
I'm sure y'all will get bored with looking for his pumpkin moment as he leads the Vikes from victory to victory.
      Skol!

Why not get Reddick? Well , why isn't he playing for the Jets? If he isn't playing without a long term contract for the Jets, is he gonna play for LV?
Should Vegas even pay him? 30+, reminds me of Chandler Jones, in a bad way

No matter how bad a defense can be, as long as your offense is good, everybody will praise the team😂 offense league, and it makes sense. At the end of the day, it's who scores more points. Thats why chicago bears are ass😂 always good defenses, but mediocre and shit offenses😂

Lions have been shit on the first 3 weeks cause our offence wasn't lights out. They finally are and all the sudden the defence is trash after finally giving up more than 21 pts 😂 so I feel you.
