The guard called him "champ"
The little things.
darthkahn45 No problem CHAMP
Rocky is the living embodiment of Philly. Movie and reality wise. They even made a statue in his honor.
@MUFC Good. You don't need me to watch it then.
"Lets go champ!"
Rocky earned those nicknames, 'Philadelphia's Favorite Son' and 'The Pride of Philadelphia'
Soul-crushing when he yells at Rocky that he killed his family.
Great acting.
That's the way of let anger go.
That hurt me when he said that. But we know he didn’t mean it.
His face after looks like he didn't mean to say it
NightBot Ban What makes it even more powerful is that Rocky knew that feeling all too well. The scene with Mickey visiting Rocky’s apartment in the first film is a prime example.
@@percyramos1296 Yes, he was honoring Apollo’s wish. Technically it was meant, even though he regretted it.
The combination of emotions in Adonis' face when he wipes his eyes. Brilliant.
An annoying personality.
FriendlyCroock his character has been through a lot, he was pretty damaged
FriendlyCroock he's a damaged guy with trust and abandonment issues that masked it with anger. When Rocky told him they "wearn't a real family", it devastated him because as far as he was concerned, they were a family.
I didn't find him annoying at all.
To me it seemed as if he reverted back to a child. When he said, "Get your hands off me old man, it's like he went back to his days in Juvenile.
SkyHazel I think you’re looking to deep into it
😂😂😂 he probably did it on instinct cause he’s acting
We’ve all had that moment where we get mad and start crying cause you can’t do something, wanna do it, don’t know how to, and just too angry
ThatBoyKS
Yea
No cap
Tbh I tiered up in this scene
So many people young and old can identify with this scene. And I love when he punches at the end of the scene..... he wants to hit something but there's nothing left to hit. It's pointless negativity that alot of abandoned people refuse to let go.
Very interesting perspective of that moment, it's always great to read movie scene commentaries, trying to capture something you may have missed.
Well said
This is the most emotional scene in the movie.
princeleezy I agree. Michael proved himself to be a brilliant actor right here. So real.
ugliiprince I agree
This whole movie was emotional..I teared up in just about every scene
this one, and when his girl shuts him out when he needed her the most
I just saw it on TV (never watch TV but I caught it on HBO) and I saw a scene that I didn't remember of Rocky receiving the Chemotheraty and it broke me, but I can't find it anywhere
1:16 “And I understand what you’re goin through cause I’ve been there.”
Boy ain’t that the truth! This is all too familiar to Rocky because this echos back to when Mickey came to Rocky asking to be his manager and Rocky snapped and vented his frustration about no one being there for Rocky. This is a perfect example of how Rocky may not be book smart, but he’s got wisdom and knowledge because he’s been through it all.
I think he is also talking about his father. From what Rocky has said in the previous films his father seemed kind of a prick...In Rocky 5 he said ''Hey Tommy at least you had a father to knock down''.
@@DynastyZwarrior90 Stallone said in an interview he's working on a 'Rocky' prequel series for MGM+. It'll take place during Rocky's teenage years when he meets Mickey and Tony Gazzo for the first time. Stallone is the narrator. So, we might finally get to see Rocky's origin story.
When he said "you got my real family killed" that sent a chill. All you remember is Drago landing that last blow on Apollo and his body falling. Can't wait to see Creed II this November 2018.
Just Lord you can see from adonis’ face he said that he didnt mean it and he regretted it.
Just imagine how rocky felt that moment after he said that.... Like you said, all you can picture is Drago laying that last blow to Apollo's head and killing him. That's probably the first thing that came to Rocky's mind after Apollo's son said that statement
Rocky getting ptsd
Just Lord It’s that little glance upward, just off to the right, just when he closes his eyes, smiles and says *“I ain’t leavin’ - ‘til I told you what’s on my mind.... “*
I *KNOW* That Look -
I Have *SEEN* That Look -
I Have *DONE* That Look Myself Personally a Thousand Times in My Life So Far, or Maybe More -
I *KNOW* What That Look *IS* ...
“Yeah, I know - Apollo, I got this one.”
great scene. shows why you can't hold grudges. gotta let that anger go
Rocky always dropping jewels
This scene is reminiscent from the first Rocky movie when Rocky is rude to Micky and then goes and hugs him and goes on to become a legend . This scene was a subtle nod to that scene in my opinion
That's what exactly i had in my mind. Creed 2015 is parallel to the first rocky. Donnie then later goes to Rockys House saying "If i fight you fight" that is parallel to Rocky apologizing to Mick
Street Fighter running in grey hoodie. Being doubtful on abolities like in rocky 1 when he says who am i jokin. I m no way in his league.
Akshat K rocky was never rude to mick. Mick didn’t help out rocky. Rocky, he had to survive with what little skills he had and work as a a loan shark , which micky loathe. But rocky need help when he was younger and asked him but he didn’t listen to rocky.
And threw rocky out of his locker. He then got a shot at the title and micky came crawling to him for his break. Rocky just needed to vent out his frustration which he said “I need your help about 10 years ago”. After rocky vented out , he forgave Mick
@user-nh7xi7lc1m yea I was gonna say. Mickey was kinda hypocritical going to rocky when he got the shot. Although, I know mickey had faith in rocky at the beginning. But I think mickey walking out and letting rocky vent is the same as rocky leaving adonis to air out his emotions as well.
Hearing what Rocky told him was a big reason why I was able to forgive my dad for leaving me to go back to his country. The words “Forgive him- because there’s nothing you can do it about and it’s taking a toll on you.” resonated with me on a deep level.
Yeah and walking around with a chip on your shoulder all the time isn't healthy. People just don't understand how that kind of anger and stress can effect you both mentally and physically. It changes you, and not for the better.
Any male that didn’t have their father/father figure there when they needed him most can understand Adonis’s anger. It never really leaves you. You just make room for it; “the stuff in the basement”.
I have a father. He was often absent, so much so I don't even remember the moment he left when him and my mom divorced, and I'm pretty sure he never liked me much. That's probably why I've been on antidepressants since I was 18, that and because I'm a f*ckin pussy. That's all I got
Comes full circle. "Ive been through what you are going through - I know what it's like to feel abandoned. forgive him. there isn't anything you can do. You are still stuck in the shadow" the heartbreaking thing is he may be talking about the time where he was really angry with Micky, who came to see him once he was announced to fight apollo. Rocky felt mickey (who was like a father to him) abandoned him too years prior when he needed him and had to make a choice to be angry with him and reject his help, or simply to move on and forgive him. amazingly, he was almost the exact same age as Donnie then.
Naw I think Rocky was at least 30 years of age I believe at least. Cause I believe he was born in the late 40’s
91Definite Donnie is 28 in here whats the difference?
@@chrishussle5674 there’s not really a difference all I’m saying is there paths were alittle different but similar. Adonis came from nothing but his father was Apollo Creed, Rocky came from nothing but he made his own legacy since no one in his family was a boxer like he was
Killmonger just needed some Rocky Balboa.
LMAO!
Thats deep
Maxphyte word I thought that same thing it's like two movies at once cause we seen them both and this one threads the needle in black panther
Lololol
If only he had been there when he killed Zuri and almost killed T’Challa
Those little sobs and then wiping tears.. its all some quality acting skills man.. makes people wanna cry
this hits home so bad
Still caught in his shadow! Time to move! Another great line from rocky
I think it means his ego was taken over without letting go his problem. It's probably in expression.
I thought he meant that he was stuck in the shadow of his father…great scene!
Movies just dont connect with me anymore the way this one did.
Rocky movies are the only movies that make me lose control of emotion.
I'm so glad that I had these movies as a kid - yeah sounds shitty but I didn't have a dad and this positively impacted my drive in life - having an amazing movie helped a bunch too ;)
I think that just means you're a fan of dramas. Try Breaking Bad or House, they're TV shows but if you care about emotion it may be up your alley.
I think that’s what my soul is missing. Good acting and story lines are just a thing of the past and it’s heartbreaking.
Leave it to a good old fashioned rocky balboa speech to bring almost anyone to tears
I cant be the only one that laughed when he said GETCHA SICK ASS OUTTA HERE
Nah, I couldn't help it either, knowing it was a serious scene. Lmfao. 😂
@@TerellTheG9697
I mean rocky refused getting treatment upon realizing he has cancer, can't blame Adonis for not wanting rocky to fight this sickness
"Get your sick ass outta here" had me dying🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 until he cried
😂😂
My favorite line "Get your sick ass outta here!"
This movie is beautiful in at least 100 different ways...
Cried like a baby at this scene. Love this movie.
Everybody talking about how emotionally charged this scene is, but I love the start where the guard is talking to Rocky about how they had to seperate Creed from everyone because he kept fighting them, made me chuckle
this scene made me cry so bad gotta let it go ive been in the situation of holding onto a grudge its okay to let it go
Kid Retro
yes i felt it too
I did to but then I just remember that it is a movie and not real
@@stonerjayboysjb190 Obviously lol but people love these type of movies because we can all relate to the feelings of anger and resentment. The Rocky and Creed franchises have helped out a lot of people by motivating them to keep pushing and fighting. David Goggins even said Rocky was his to go to movie when he was bettering himself.
" You ain't dumb and you's ain't a loser , You're just a Jealous lazy Bumb "
Tom Adams rocky 3
Correct
Sylvester Stallone should've won his Oscar for this portrayal of Rocky as the older-wiser-caring-father figure- mentor, he was robbed big time.
"GETCHA HANDS OFF ME OLD MAN" 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
"You're still caught in the shadow. You need to STICK AND MOVE"
This was the moment where I said yea michael b Jordan that dude
Rocky wins this fight the same way he won all his biggest fights: attacking the body. The heart. He gets right to the root of the problem within Donnie and he slowly begins to heal after this.
Creed is so damn great.
Between this and Black Panther, it's clear that Michael B. Jordan is the undisputed king of crying scenes right now. They should cast him in a big tearjerker. He could snag an Oscar he's so delicate and sweet.
Adonis didn’t mean what he said to Rocky he was just hurt because Rocky didn’t see him as family. So he maliciously said Rocky had his family killed. Besides he wasn’t there when it happened nor did he ever met his father(Apollo Creed).
Have u ever noticed that in most of Jordan movies he is motivated by the death of his father. Black panther fantastic 4 Creed etc.
I feel the same way Creed feel...The one person that was pure in my life was my grandmother. After she had a heart attack I was at her house cooking something to eat for us. She woke up hollering and yelling. Ambulance came and got her. A couple of hours passed fell into a coma. Then two days later she passed away, still at her apartment with nowhere else to go. It wasn’t the same anymore I didn’t hear not one song she would hum throughout her apartment which was in a senior citizen building. I lived with her on and off, saddest thing was I had to evacuate. And move back home where I didn’t felt wanted back, but I got my own now. I miss her like shit..I really wish she was still here, still feeling empty inside without her. She was only 70 years old.
This reminds me of when rock got mad at Mickey when he was trying to help him
Exactly! That was one of my favorite scenes in the original film
It’s a damn shame this young brother doesn’t even have an Oscar nomination... creed, fruitvale station, black panther, just mercy..
I LOVE THIS MOVIE!!! MICHAEL B JORDAN IS A FORCE TO BE RECKONED WITH!
Roborav he's in black panther
Roborav oh and they announced creed 2
Roborav You sound like a hater LOL
Roborav Not even
Roborav how and he's in Black Panther and Creed 2, you're dumb
Lol to be honest I dam near cried myself at this scene.
The 18 people that dislike this scene are probably still caught in the shadow.
i felt that last part
Felt tight on rocky wen creed flipped at him
Seems like every time Donnie gets angry, his way of dealing is to start a fight with just about anyone
Donnie: Get your hands off me, old man
Clubber Lang: Shut up, Old Man, I ain't goin' nowhere
😂
Notice in this scene every time rocky says each statement about Adonis’s source of pain his face changes more and more because he finally realizes why he’s filled with anger/pain. To say Michael b Jordan and Sly can’t act is truly criminal
Have you seen the interview where Brian Cranston said that it is much more emotionally effective to make a character try not to cry rather than cry easily? This is a great example of that.
A very powerful and emotional scene
When i watched the movie creed and got to this part i was so sad when adonis pushed rocky away man when he mentioned that he got his family killed really got to me and rocky looked at him in the eye and told him that really did inspire me so much this movie is so good and MBJ nailed the role ❤️👍
I thought this sene was not on youtube!!!!! :))))) wow😏😛😘😘😘😘😘😘😍😍😍😍😍😘😍😍😘🐕😏🤑
Push Knock chill with the emojis
Damn dude I fuckin swear watching this when it came out on my birthday at 15 I was so emotional over this movie and this scene hit me hard reminding me so much of my own troubles with pops
It's scenes like this that made this first Creed movie one of the best in the Rocky franchise
Good acting Michael B. Jordan
Perfect Acting
I love this scene
That part almost made me cry because how Adonis said to Rocky and he has a really big pain
My heart has been broken watching this stupid kid speaking to rocky like that..
He was in pain. What young person doesn’t lash out when they’re in emotional pain?
@@KC_Smooth faxx some order ones 2 that haven't dealt with there problems just found s new substitute
I wonder if Miguel,Robby, Daniel, And Johnny will have a similar conversation once Miguel recovers in Season 3 of Cobra-Kai ? But under different reasons and circumstances.
I Feel Like Donnie Wants To Punch Rocky in this scene
No shit
The part where Rocky just gently talks to Adonis about being "mad with someone who aint here to defend himself". Smh. It's like a father talking to a son - saying "I understand because Ive been there", and the son begrudgingly understands.
There are like a million and one little parallels in this movie to Rocky's life. And I get that it was done intentionally for the artistic endeavor, but the older I become, the more I realize that this is EXACTLY how life works. Rocky goes up the rocky steps with his son. Then he goes up the steps with another "son".
Rocky got a shot at Apollo in his early 30s (mathematically assuming because Apollo dies in 1985, and the movie specifically mentions that Adonis was born after Apollo's death- so late 85, early 86is?) Adonis is around 30 or so.
Rocky was given a shot at Apollo because Apollo's challenger, I think it was Mack Lee Green, was injured. Adonis got a shot at Pretty Ricky Conlan because Ricky injured his opponent at a press conference.
Rocky lashed out at Mick because Mick took an interest in managing Rocky to assure that he didn't blow his chance with Apollo, and not out of self interest. Adonis lashed out at Rocky because he took an interest in Rocky's cancer treatment to assure that Rocky can be healthy again, not because of his training, but out of genuine concern for his teacher.
Rocky took on a student before who turned on him (Tommy Gunn). Rocky took on a student who brought him back to glory (Adonis).
I really have to say. Upon finding out that Creed III excluded Stallone altogether, it was heartbreaking and sincerely made me angry. I caved in and watched it, and I really have to say that I genuinely enjoyed it. But I cannot find a word to describe when you enjoy something, but that something still had a huge gaping flaw in it. And that flaw was the absence of Rocky. I dont just say that because I am a fan of Stallone and the Rocky movies. I say that because Creed 1 and 2 established this beautiful father/son dynamic between Rocky and Adonis. Hell, in Creed 2, both Rocky AND Adonis were facing their own respective pasts that unintentionally bisected. It's like they both put Apollo to rest. And then we get to Creed 3, where just like in Rocky was in Rocky 3, Adonis becomes highly civilized. Now being savvy of the inner workings of the boxing world, Creed is a businessman, except he's faced with huge ethical conundrums. I find it hard to believe that despite their father son relationships as two industry expert boxers, Adonis wouldn't have reached out to his teacher for help. It was just so noticeably missing from the story.
Rocky isn't just a movie to some people. It's really a life long novel that echoes the path of life itself. It's not just a boxing movie. You see Rock as this young problematic directionless man. And the comet of fate comes from the novas square into that man's life, and he goes toe to toe with a king of boxing world, and it opens up the doors of life for a man who was used to roughing people up as a loan shark. You then watch him civilize and enjoy the "A side" of life for a while. Then he's old enough, in his 40s to really start to experience mortality and the unsure nature of all around him. First Mick. Then Apollo. The he loses it all and goes back to where he came from, more well rounded and less ignorant of the world. This movie is LIFE itself.
We real fans got into Creed because they take a great character embodied by Michael B Jordan, who is a great actor and a really beloved guy in terms of his talent and amazing things he's done so far in the prime of his young life. And he's paired up learning from Stallone in real life, while Adonis Creed learns from Rocky Balboa. We now get to see the cycle repeat itself, except Rocky is now the "Micky". And some day, Adonis will get there. And someday, he may train someone who will get there as well. Just the ripples of life echoing on and on.
I hope that a peaceable solution can be arrived at that will allow us to see Stallone back into the world that he created.
0:40 GET YOUR HANDS
OFF OF ME, OLD MAN! 😡
Rocky is really talking to himself in this scene
Cried to this scene no lie
"It stinks!"
Someone who ain't here to defend himself. Forgive him. Wow
Man, this Scene killed me.
Man I remember seeing young Michael B. Jordan in the movie “Hardball.” Man did he grew up into a GREAT!!! Actor.

Was he talking about rocky
Silvertooth 01 well, Apollo told him not to do it, and Apollo called him out, but I liked him as a character and he should have never died
YOUNG LION Yeah I don’t really blame Rocky for Apollo’s death but it seems Adonis does to an extent based off this clip
He came out all wrong . But he should have told him he was sicc he caresss .
Tsss I be gettin mad like that gotta hold it on ...
This is funny and sad
Michael B jordan
Do some people still hate Robert? Rocky's Son? I know it might be a little too late for this but I really wanted Robert & Adonis to meet and look they don't have to be best friends like they're father's,I just wish that Robert and Adonis could meet because just like Robert,Adonis is also the son of a famous Boxer and at some point they were both caught in the Shadow of they're fathers and life became a little difficult for them
They don't have to be friends, I'm just saying they could learn a thing or too from each other
