This for me is so excruciating to listen to on loud volume- and considering what the song is supposed to do to those who listen to it, that means starkid has done a great job!
I have never listened to it at a loud volume before. I read your comment and decided to try. Plugged in headphones and cranked it up to 70. The moment the song began, I threw my headphones across the room and now my heart is beating so fast I feel like I'm going to faint.
OMG I just got through it. It was so excruciating. OMG I never fully realised how painful this song was to listen to before blasting myself with it on headphones. I was legitimately terrified. There's some tolerable parts, but the parts inbetween "You can't kill me do you want to" makes it so hard not to rip my headphones off. I don't know why this song scared me so badly but I am literally shaking rn.
Anyone else picking up at 0:38, the keyboard is playing the Melody to Do you Want to Play, from Black Friday? Specifically the "Loovely girl, loovely girl". I don't know how they connect, but it always so fun how Starkid brings back important and recognizable melodies, especially for such an underrated song like that
Had to re-listen to it, but you're right, that is the melody of Do You Want to Play! Considering the universe that Starkid are creating, I wouldn't be surprised if that is a deliberate Easter egg hint towards the true nature of the song.
@@Enderception it is in it is own universe - same as The Guy who didnt like musicals - they love to use melodies from other stuff though - all over Black Friday is "creepy melody" which is essentialy start of nightmare time opening
the first time i listened to this nightmare time episode i was in class with my headphones on max volume and nearly sobbed when this song started because it just came out of nowhere 😭😭 slaps hard tho
Watched this episode at 4am last night. Good thing i watch them with the live chat on, and the audience us gave a jumpscare warning, otherwise that would've scared me half to death 💀 Sadly, they didn't warn about the SECOND time the song plays, which *did* scare me half to death 💀
it was fantastic! and seeing Ms. Holloway's journal, witht hat detailed elaboration of the in canon esoterica, and seeing how well-plotted out this singular prop was, and then getting THIS banger? those were the parts that truly knocked it out off the park for me!
do we ever really learn who's responsible for the killer track? obvious answer seems like pokey since it's musical death, but since i'm pretty sure all of nt2 is in the same universe it seems unlikely that he would be trying two strategies at once. also straight up killing people isn't really his style, he's more into mindless hivemind minions.
I say Blinky. In the song, it says to “worship Bliklotep”, and the killer track is on-brand with Blinky’s preferred method of chaos. While Wiggly makes people willing to do anything, makes their holes and weaknesses so much worse that they would do anything for a fix to it, and Tinky manipulates them with what they think is a fix to their horrible life before luring them to insanity, and Pokey takes control of them to ensure the only voice spoken is his own, and Nibbly... eats them? Blinky is sadistic. His victims enter Watcher World, innocent and just looking for a good time. But as time passes, they get angrier and more violent, and Blinky watches that and finds it amusing. The Killer Track is described as driving you insane, to destroying things just to get the music to turn off, and that seems to be right up Blinky’s alley. idk tho
@@dragonsaregreat1948 i like your explanation a lot, also we haven't seen tons from blinky other than watcher world so it would be cool if this was from him. question though, when in the song does it say to worship bliklotep? i'm not saying he doesn't, but the lyrics are a bit hard to hear. i can definitely hear him saying "worship satan" at some point around 0:55, but does he say bliklotep somewhere?
First time I heard it in Nightmare Time it did freak me out a bit, I got shivers. But I also enjoyed it, so I looked it up and found your upload and now I’m haunting myself with it because I keep coming back! The song was so abrupt that I almost fell from my seat when it played😭
i was worried about that 😩 i hope ur heart is okay 😘

this is legit the scariest thing for me in all of the hatchetfield universe
0:38 this part reminds me of that one bit in Join us and die, right at the end when they beat up Ted
i thought so too !!
Possibly foreshadowing to which entity turns up in the next episode??
Huh. Someone else commented they heard "lovely girl, lovely girl" in that section
Yes!
Loooove all the different genres of music NM has given us!
Dude this song is fire. Cant wait for Nightmare Time 2 songs to be on Spotify so I can listen to it on repeat with the rest of the songs.
Guys the song stopped playing 5 minutes ago why can I still hear it???

Ms Holloway says the songs a living thing that wants to kill people by making them listen to it
