I have always been an impulse buyer even before getting into plants. Then i read a tip from someone who said, if you see something you want to buy, just hold off the purchase and wait for 3 days. If you still want it, then go back for it and make yourself happy. If you don't want it anymore (or if you go back but it's sold out), then congrats, you've saved some money. I've been using this 3-day rule on everything from shirts and bags to plants and snacks. Worked most of the time, and really helps u identify which things u really want or really need
This is an intervention I did’nt know we need! Thank you. Plant friends are the best! Just dont stare at their prized Philodendron too long and you’ll live harmoniously.
I am addicted to plants because: I have never been to the tropics so I wanted to create my own.... And a huge green wall was the end result 🤷🏻♂️ it thrives on my aquarium so well
Aquariums and houseplants mix so well‼️ I water all my plants with my aquarium water and I grow plant cuttings in my HOB aquarium filter into new plants 😊
Wow I can so relate….I have always been fascinated with the Amazon river so just setting up my 6 and half feet tank into a mini Amazon river version ☺️
Is it ok to add discarded water from my waterlily tubs to other plants in the garden. This water is often pea soup like, with slimy and string algae … I always feel insecure to add this water with abundant algae growing in it… is it safe. Will I have algae growing on the surface of the soil of other plants? Please help because I always fee guilty wasting all the waterlily/ lotus tub water.
It was very nice to hear of ur advices... thanks a lot i really love to see ur plants, other plants ur showed specially other people gardens u visited.. hope to see more of that..
You are so much fun! I enjoyed your video. I recently have become content with the size of my collection. We just don’t have any more space for plants. That doesn’t mean that I didn’t buy four plants this past weekend… but I also gave several away to a friend. It’s not fair to have too many plants and therefore not enough light for the ones I have.
i find buying them small is a good way. if there is wholesale open to public then that is good too.get when they are ready to repot, then use good potting mix with nutrients.
Some of the suggestions here are downright hilarious! 🤣🤣🤣 Oh no, Irene! You've made me want to buy more plants with that gorgeous sarian and scrumptious lemon lime! 🙈😅🤣💸
Thank you so much for this video! I got rid of social media and next I need to stop going to in person and online plant shops!! And also, stop watching the rare plant hauls videos on RUclips, haha. I'm trying!! 🌱
My garden is stuffed to the brim. Lately I've learned to only buy species that I know how to take care of and won't die on me easily. The only problem with this strategy is my garden gets even more stuffed since nothing hardly ever dies anymore. Maybe I have to rethink my game plan 😂
So true for me too. Especially the pothos , mulberry tree plants and aloe Vera plants ; they keep multiplying until I don’t know what to do with them. I keep propagating them and they still continue to multiply. My friends often called my garden a “ nursery “.
Addicted to plants and buying plants is hard to tell. My way is buying small but various types to learn how to effectively raise plants. After a period of time when you know exactly your favorite is, this is the time u buy a bigger ones. So you save spending on ones you dont actually like.
This is so true. It’s my “ trial and error “ to see which plants I can manage . I killed many calatheas , peperomiode watermelons and succulents. Finally decided that these plants aren’t for me.
I purchased my most expensive plant (though to many it probably wasn't that expensive) at the start of Winter and put myself on a ban from buying plants till spring (a week away). I wanted to prove that I could do it and so far I've managed. I actually found it therapeutic, a few plants I got just before winter also suffered root rot and it gave me the opportunity to focus on nursing them back to health. Plus I saved a lot of money, didn't have to worry where I was going to out my new plant and crossed a few plants off my Wishlist when I sat on it for a bit and realised I didn't want it that much. My takeaway is now when I see I plant I like, I'm not going to rush out and buy it because I'll probably change my mind. There's a few plants I decided and wanted, and still want, so I know after 3 months of still wanting them, it's truely a plant I want to add to my collection.
"You are the author of your life".......this really stuck with me 😊, it was fun hearing the many creative ways how ppl plan to save money on plants, I actually have a punishment for myself where if I overdo it on plants, I deduct that amount from my travel spending allowance on my next holiday, , so I have less spending money, it works for me 🤣
actually I am now more selective because my balcony is already quite full aesthetically and I prefer well arranged orientation than cluttered it. So now it is to fulfil my Wishlist than to buy all that's catching my eyes :)
I wonder can you do a clip about plants with flowers such as petunias or tips on beginners who wants a garden with flowers everywhere lol xxx much appreciated
3:41 it's for me sometime 😅🤧 I love my all plants very much and my family too . I can't stop collecting any plants bt I figured out 2 methods - 1) when i searched my plants which I need to buy , searched in many nurseries , where I'll get more reasonable and also healthy plants I bought it from them . 2) And specially I've scanning eyes 👁️👁️ for plants , if I find my wishlist plants at anyone's house of our area just asked her/him for cuttings or swapping with them . When I went a long drive with my hubby , returning time definitely we bought plants . Thats are my favourite days ever .
the best feeling is when you go plant shopping and you see THE ONE plant you feel like if its not yours then you buy it and you bring it home. btw you will regret it after planting it.
Does buying a lot of cheap plants counts as "less" 🙊 P.s. u were mentioned in Summer Rayne's video Ep. 237. That's so cool as she is one of my favourite plantuber.
A big one is time. We buy plants that are alot more matured and cost alot more. You can spend a fraction of it by getting a seedling/tubestock or a cutting instead and watch it grow.
So very true!! Some just want instant BIG gratification and there is a cost to it! I cannot deny I would prefer them big too...but yes if price diff too big...😅

@@anitasalpekar9729 I do it myself... The plants absorb only the water and the slimy substance will be used as nutriance

How to grow Begonia big like that?
I wonder if you would consider having the (very nice) background music be a lower volume. It’s a bit hard for me to hear/separate out your voice
