I found that IG coloured my perception of what plants I should own and made gardening only about plant envy. So I unfollowed all these influencers, started appreciating what I have and enjoying my garden again. Best decision ever! This was such a lovely video to watch and reaffirmed my belief that gardening should be about what you like and suits your lifestyle and space.
I totally agree. I sell and trade rare and uncommon plants, but they get the same care and love as something as "regular" as my jade pothos! I have some plants who have high care requirements, but I mostly go for whatever is easiest to grow and handle. Even if it isn't an expensive plant, if I think it's neat and something a little different, I'll pick one up, and I do clippings/"imperfect" plant giveaways to people so everyone has a chance to have something hard to get, which is pretty fun. It is often quite a process to work up to fickle plants and not everyone wants to bust out the lab kit every day to spend time with them, so really whatever makes you the happiest is what counts the most. I hate the whole idea of having a plant just for flexing and I regularly make posts about "this being the plant that will get you totally laid" lmao. I dislike people who get any living thing to flex with it, it's just gross to me in general. That being said, I am genuinely proud of my plants like a parent, and that is not an exaggeration lol. My favorite rare plants are my carnivorous ones, and they are all quite easy to care for and acquire! I highly suggest giving pitchers and pinguiculas if you've never given them a thought before! Sooo easy, free pest control, simple/fast propagation, and they are absolutely stunning.
If IG makes you feel bad please don’t go on it. Social media is out of control. This garden is beautiful and you should only grow what you love. Just because something cost a lot of money doesn’t mean it will bring you joy. Garden for joy! 💕
Amazing garden. Plants are potted but arranged in a wild chaotic way. This shows you don't have to buy expensive plants to make your own little paradise. Love this!
I not only loved these garden but I have to say, Irene and her guest had such beautiful outfits on. Irene's blouse actually looks like a bunch of giant leaves sewn together, I really love it! And the guest's dress and hair are so lovely.🥰

Im starting to make my own garden and I thought buying EXPENSIVE PLANTS would make my garden beautiful. But when I saw this video, it was such a relief! It was gardening simplified! I love Junie Lee!!!
I LOVE all her plants. The way Junie designed her garden makes me want to put out a small tea table and chair and have afternoon tea whilst blue jays fly free and classical music plays in the background. A total ZEN garden.
I’ve watched this video 5 times already. It’s the best garden I have seen, so many great tips and ideas. Could you please please please do another video of her garden. It has inspired me to take cuttings from the few plants I have so I can make my garden as beautiful as hers...
She called her garden simple, mine would not even enter anywhere but like she said to feel proud of every plant,I too feel alive because of them.Thankyou irene for sharing junie's beautiful and lush garden.

The one plant you showed that looked like fingers I had recently obtained. It is a Anthurium pedatoradiatum or Anthurium Fingers is a species of plant in the genus Anthurium native to southern Mexico. A. pedatoradiatum has leaves with deep finger-like lobes, and is terrestrial. Thank you Irene for your encouragement with the tropical or Rainforest look & feel of our gardens. You have given me my desire back. I had to let things go in my garden for several years while I took care of my 90 yr old mother with Alzheimer’s. She has recently passed due to this horrible illness. I am trying to reclaim my garden.
What an amazing garden! I live in a zone where these are house plants. It so nice to see them growing outside to their full potential! Amazing work Junie!
Thank you Irene for sharing this video! Absolutely love Junie’s garden!! Love her style and simplicity. I would be replaying this video over and over!!
I love this episode... a feast for the eyes, there are ideas and lessons learned, there is laughter, there is envy from me (wish I have such plants and garden), as if i was in the show with two ladies and me at the background following them as they chatter and giggle like young teens. I was having a good laugh... THank You to both of you.
You're in góod company, Irene. Love you, your friend, and her inspiring garden. Yours is getting there, too. Keep on featuring such wonderful gardens.❤️
Wow! Junie's garden is amazing! 😍🙌 I have questions for Junie: 1. How does she water her plants? She has so many! 2. How does she keep her plants' leaves so healthy and shiny? 3. How does she keep pests away? Thank you, Irene and Junie! 💚

This episode cured my Aroids Fatigue. At the entrance to Junie's garden, I would purposely trip over and fall into the lush green, and never sees me again. Oh, that weird croton 18:17 dark with an antenna-like alien. I want those. Lastly, Junie's colorful dishes, so rich with herbs, spices, and chillis. Truly a Malaysian beauty dish.
