  • Today's feature on AutoHunter Cinema is a 1969 Chevrolet COPO Camaro built by Dick Harrell. Dick Harrell was a drag racer who earned the nickname “Mr. Chevrolet” after steadfastly representing the Bowtie, even during moments sans factory backing. Harrell would become a pioneer of 427 Camaro transplants and assist with the development of the aluminum ZL1 427ci V8 in 1969. In 1971, he would lose his life in a drag racing accident. This particular vehicle would go on to sell for $121,000 at the 2023 Barrett-Jackson Palm Beach auctions.

They built 201 Yenko Camaro. 50 Berger. COPO Production totaled about 968 cars. The COPO Camaro did not have the black rear panel like the Big Block SS. The presenter needs to learn history.
