  • In part 1 I discuss the problem I’m trying to solve by building a simple filament dryer but with temperature and humidity control.
    Once tested, if the dryer works I will release a full write up on how to assemble one for yourself.

    Thanks for the video as I'm researching on making a drying box to use instead of the oven after seeing the year end budgeted elec bill. Will watch part two after this.
    Don't count on any Taulman filament to be dry out of the package. I've been printing only with various Taulman filaments for over a year now, Alloy 910 for most parts and lately PCTPE. I may have had a couple Alloy 910 spools that were dry enough to use out of the package, but most spools I had to throw in the oven after seeing the first prints show signs of moisture. I dry all Alloy 910 before printing now.

    I wonder how hard this would be to do with a hair drier/heat gun or heating element rather than a bulb since incandescent bulbs are only going to get less common with time.
